This is our vacation home as well - it is well equipped for us to spend a few weeks each year with as many as 2 additional families. It has enough beds to sleep 8-9 folks comfortably with three bathrooms, laundry, and a large kitchen to make you feel as comfortable as we do. The view must be seen to be believed as it is one of the best in the area. There is a fire pit out back to enjoy toasting marshmallows as the sun sets and the air cools to let the stars out.

We are a family of 5 (three young ones) that lives in queens that needs to be away from NYC as often as possible. This is my children's favorite place in the world right now - the house, the hill it is on, the hiking, small town friendliness, and other adventures make this their top pick for places to go as a family. So we do - as often as possible we take the house for ourselves....
Adam Besch-Turner purchased this house in 2009
The view took our breath away initially - then the house itself won us over. It is set up to enjoy but feel elegant. It is spacious and open and invites conversation with friends and long slow meals - it is country living done right and we adore it.
We came to Cooperstown when my first was an infant and fell in love with the town - once we realized how many things there were to enjoy in the area we decided to find a place for ourselves. We cannot fully utilize the property - so renting it when we are not there makes great sense. We have professional cleaners turn the house around in about 5 hours every Friday to insure that you get a pristine property to enjoy with your family.
Lovely home and gorgeous view - love the porch!
Great location, very nice house - we would definitely come back!
What a beautiful home. It took us less than 20 minutes to get to Dreams Park. We all enjoyed the beautiful deck and the view was stunning. You can watch the sunrise as you wake up in the master bedroom. Don't hesitate booking this house. If I have the chance, we will come again next year! We enjoyed Mel's on 22, Bocca Osteria and The Otsega restaurant. The food was ok at the Otsega, but really enjoyed the property. Comparing to NY (Manhattan and Westchester/Putnam county) prices of restaurants and supermarkets, Cooperstown has great prices. Town is very pretty. Shops mostly baseball related. Most importantly, our boys had a great time at Dreams Park and hopefully will be back next year due to their age! The owner Adam responded to all my questions promptly. Book this house ;)
This house is perfect for a family vacation! All of the comforts of home and very conveniently located, close to beaches, restaurants, and Cooperstown. The view is beautiful! Sitting on the deck watching the sun come up over the lake and mountains is worth setting the alarm for. We were very pleased with the accommodations and our experience.
We were in Cooperstown for our 12yr olds from Virginia. The house was perfect size, updated and clean. We loved the porch with the view of the lake. Our kids only stayed 2 nights but they enjoyed the Xbox and the bunk room was perfect. The only negative was we did a firepit and the neighbor complained. Maybe move that further down in the yard or other side. We were excited about our wins and were sitting by the fire. Otherwise I recommend this house! Hopefully in 3 years we will be back with our younger son!
The house was perfect for our stay. It is update and very comfortable. The view of the lake is unbelievable.
Had never been to Cooperstown before, so I had no real grasp of the surrounding area and how things would be situated around Dreams Park. The house is north of the park, and I'd say it takes 15-20 minutes to get there. Not too bad.
The house itself is very roomy. The view of Lake Ostego is truly beautiful and definitely the highlight of the house. The kitchen is large and has a good supply of dishes, utensils, etc.
The one negative is that there is no wifi and if you have service from ATT you will get ZERO service at the house. When I rented the house last year in preparation for the trip, the owner had mentioned he would revisit wifi in 2016-- so that obviously still hasn't happened. If you have Verizon, you're good.
Anyway-- I'd say it is an above average rental for the area and probably more up-to-date than many of the other properties. We had a great time.
Stayed with two other families while our kids played at Dreams Park. House was new, clean and spacious -- we all had sufficient individual space and our own bathrooms. Cleaning crew between renters did a great job. Beautiful view from the deck -- a great place to enjoy both morning coffee and/or an evening beverage. The owner was a joy to work with. House is off a dirt road, which branches off from a quiet country road. It was a bit disconcerting when we arrived at night, but we quickly grew to love how quiet and private the house is. The runners and walkers in our group put in miles without ever seeing a car. That being said, the ride in to Cooperstown was only 10 minutes, and the ride to Dreams Park an additional 10. There is no AT&T cell phone coverage at the house, but there IS Verizon coverage. Also, a previous reviewer mentioned the lack of wifi service. We asked about this in advance, so we were prepared -- One of our group brought a Verizon hotspot, which took care of the lack of wifi for several of us. Can't say enough great things about the house -- it's a gem!
Our home is one of two on top of the hill providing ample privacy and amazing views. Walking the surrounding roads is wonderful. The house is also only 10 miles from Dreams Park for summer tournaments or 5 miles from the Baseball Hall of Fame. Our stays never miss: Coffee from the Stagecoach Café, breakfast from The Doubleday Café, Dinner from Alex and Ika, and Cider from the Fly Creek Cider Mill. The whole family can spend hours at the Farmer's Museum, and the local Farmer's Market is amazing. Plan a longer trip to get out to the Brewery Ommegang for some amazing Belgian Ales and delicious food at their new restaurant. Many other adventures are to be found - check the local schedule to see what concert you can catch or take the day and get on the lake on a rented boat.
