About Steven & Emily Phillips

Native to this area, we have been married 30 years and now 3 kids and a Son-in-law later, we have decided to venture out with a home on the river. We are having a hard time staying away and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Steven & Emily Phillips purchased this house in 2010

Why Steven & Emily Phillips chose North Georgia Mountains

This home is on a corner lot in a quiet community, with frontage on a beautiful river and all natural forest on the other side of the river. Sitting on the screened porch in the early morning watching the mist rise and the wildlife enjoying the water is absolutely spellbinding.

What makes this house unique

We have tried to equip our home with everything needed for your getaway. All you should have to bring is some food and your clothes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

White water rafting, along w/horseback riding all within a hop, skip & jump away. We also ventured down the creek to the right. We caught four trout. Find the deeper pockets and they are in there. Can't compete with the sound of the creek from the porch early morning. Fire pit is the hangout spot. We had a great getaway and already are talking about returning. Thanks

Mother's 80th Birthday Celebration / Labor Day Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect setting to celebrate a family birthday and the Labor Day weekend! We enjoyed our time here very much as we had four generations staying together. As expected, our 80-year-old mother spent much of the time on the back screen porch and deck. She loved the sight and sound of the water spilling over the rocks. We shared much of our adventure with friends on Facebook and so many people responded to the beauty and sounds of the weekend; expressing interest in visiting themselves! The grandkids fished for the first time from the deck and even waded in the cool waters. The house was well stocked with games, videos, and other items to make our stay even more special; and the kitchen had everything we needed for food preparation. (The birthday card and "noise makers" you left for our mother on the table was a nice touch... Thank You!)

We hope to return regularly. Thank you for sharing this special place with us!

Total eclipse of the sun, spectacular.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on Saturday and the eclipse was Monday. We rented this cabin because we wanted to be in the zone of the total eclipse. We were able to view the eclipse from the front yard and it was spectacular. No crowds just us. Proceeding the eclipse my grand daughter, who had never fished before, caught a nine inch rainbow trout in the stream in the back. The grand kids were also able to float down the small section we could view from the back porch. The kitchen was equipped and we as a family go all out with food when we gather. The fire pit was used every night to roast marsh mellows. We didn't but I think you could sit on the back deck and drop your fishing line in. I know sitting on the deck and listening to the river was just what I needed. The cabin is in a great location, you can fish, hike, shop, eat out, go boating and everything is just 20 or so minutes away. The cabin itself had every thing we needed as was very clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful, tranquil, spotless peace of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed our stay here and plan to return. The home is so clean and we had everything needed. Even though it rained for most of the time here, we were able to relax on the porch and hear the water. Anyone looking for a relaxing vacation should consider this bit of heaven. Thank you for all the extra touches too!

2017 Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

This was my first experience renting a home through this program. My overall experience was very satisfactory. The reservation process was user friendly. The owner was timely in answering all of my questions. The home was clean, spacious, equipped with all the conveniences and the location on Swallows Creek was perfect. I was in Hiawassee for a family reunion being held in Young Harris, this location was extremely convenient. The table on the screened porch was the location for family dinners, late night deserts, early morning coffee and lots of laughter and conversation. While the weather was not 100% cooperative, it did not deter from the overall experience. Thank you for putting your home in this program. I will definitely rent this property again and will highly recommend this property.
