Lovely Sunny Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This house is a great place to hide away from everything, but it is also a quick drive from Woodstock and Saugerties. Great kitchen, huge table next to big windows, perfect for dinner at home or a morning birdwatching. Would happily stay here again!

Clean, comfortable, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Saugerties to HITS on the Hudson for about 15 years and this was our first HomeAway stay. The house is lovely, fully updated but decorated with a lot of character - the best of both worlds in terms of historical sensibility with modern convenience. The location is ideal; quiet, private and peaceful but very close to both downtown Saugerties and the village of Woodstock. In all of our previous visits to the area we had never before gone to Woodstock, but the information the owner provided encouraged us to check out the charming shops and excellent restaurants and we were happy to finally discover Woodstock!

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure hosting you in my home. I always love hearing that my guests enjoyed Woodstock so I'm happy that my housebook with all of the information was useful. I do hope that you come back next year. Thanks Lori!

Spacious, well maintained, nicely furnished Catskills country house

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house for 3 nights over a July weekend, and found it to be perfect for 4 adults (grandparents, parents) and 2 young children. The country location was quite private, yet within short driving distance to Woodstock or Saugerties. It's also about 1/2 hour drive to the NYS North/South Lake Campground, which has a nice beach for hot summer days. The house has everything needed for renters, and is nicely furnished and decorated in a modern, contemporary style.

Beautiful, well-kept Woodstock house

  • 4 of 5

The house is beautifully appointed and easy to enjoy. Lynne is kind and helpful. The central air worked great for hot summer days. Plush bedding and linens, well organized mud room, and a wonderful resource binder for area activities made for a wonderful weekend in the Catskills.

About Lynne lives nearby and will assist in any way so that you have a memorable stay.

I came to Woodstock in the early 70s to visit some friends and stayed two years working as an artist rep and enjoying the vibrant music scene. I met my husband and we were married in the space that is now Cucina Restaurant. After working in New York City and Bridgehampton for thirty years we decided to move back to where it all began!

My passion is traveling so I understand what it takes to feel welcome in a new place. I love to attend concerts - jazz, rock, classical- and I sing in the Woodstock chorus. If you decide to explore our area - Woodstock, Saugerties and beyond- I welcome your questions regarding local events, concerts, antiquing, nature walks and more.

If you decide that you love the area as much as I do, I am a NYS licensed real estate agent and would love to help you find your own retreat. I have been a realtor in the Hudson Valley for the last 10 years.

Fall foliage is a must to see! The Woodstock School of Art, respected for its roster of accomplished artists who teach there, has art exhibits as well as the the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum. The Bearsville Theater offers high quality music on their stage throughout the year and Upstate Film, our quirky little artsy movie house always has a great film to see.

Two amazing spas are close by for your pleasure: The River Rock Spa and the Emerson Spa.

Golf at the Woodstock Public Golf Course or the Lazy Swan, a beautiful new club with a restaurant where people love to meet for drinks and dinner. For the kids there is a corn maze and a Haunted Barn complete with roaming buffalo that share the property.

The simple beauty of our Catskill Mountains and the great hiking trails could provide many days of entertainment.

The beautiful Platte Clove waterfall and hiking trails are just down our road.

In my guest book I have provided lots of information and websites to help you decide how you want to spend your time.

Just spending time taking in the mountain view and relaxing in our very comfortable house, sharing a home cooked dinner with friends is always a good idea.

I am always available to help make your stay a wonderful experience!

Ask about our newly renovated apartment in the charming old world meets new Village of Catskill on the creek to the Hudson River.
