I came to Woodstock in the early 70s to visit some friends and stayed two years working as an artist rep and enjoying the vibrant music scene. I met my husband and we were married in the space that is now Cucina Restaurant. After working in New York City and Bridgehampton for thirty years we decided to move back to where it all began!
My passion is traveling so I understand what it takes to feel welcome in a new place. I love to attend concerts - jazz, rock, classical- and I sing in the Woodstock chorus. If you decide to explore our area - Woodstock, Saugerties and beyond- I welcome your questions regarding local events, concerts, antiquing, nature walks and more.
If you decide that you love the area as much as I do, I am a NYS licensed real estate agent and would love to help you find your own retreat. I have been a realtor in the Hudson Valley for the last 10 years.
We rented the house for 3 nights over a July weekend, and found it to be perfect for 4 adults (grandparents, parents) and 2 young children. The country location was quite private, yet within short driving distance to Woodstock or Saugerties. It's also about 1/2 hour drive to the NYS North/South Lake Campground, which has a nice beach for hot summer days. The house has everything needed for renters, and is nicely furnished and decorated in a modern, contemporary style.
The house is beautifully appointed and easy to enjoy. Lynne is kind and helpful. The central air worked great for hot summer days. Plush bedding and linens, well organized mud room, and a wonderful resource binder for area activities made for a wonderful weekend in the Catskills.
We had a wonderful time staying at this home over New Years Eve. Although we had some plumbing issues, the owners responded right away to help with the situation. The house was well stocked and perfect for cooking meals for a large group of people. The house was even larger than the pictures portrayed. The area is also perfect for people who are interested in hiking and biking.
My husband and I loved our stay at this warm and cozy home in Woodstock. Perfect for a quiet weekend in nature or entertaining with friends. We enjoyed both during our week-long stay. This house feels secluded, yet it's a short drive to town for brunch or shopping. Our friends loved the privacy of the two upstairs guest rooms. There are beautiful snowy mountain views from the yard. Lynne and Luke have thought of every detail. We hope to come back again soon!
What a wonderful, satisfying escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its exactly what we wanted, a beautifully decorated, yet comfortable living area. We enjoyed wonderful dinners, then snuggled up in the living room after a day of strolling through Woodstock and Saugerties. The Farmhouse is conveniently located between both of these historic/hip towns, which makes it even more desirable. The other days we enjoyed hiking at the nearby Overlook mountain, amazing. All the rooms were crisp, clean and beautiful, the owners, a husband and wife team were very professional, accommodating, not to mention extremely interesting and pleasant. We look forward to visiting the area again soon and would absolutely stay at the Plate clove Farmhouse again!
Fall foliage is a must to see! The Woodstock School of Art, respected for its roster of accomplished artists who teach there, has art exhibits as well as the the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum. The Bearsville Theater offers high quality music on their stage throughout the year and Upstate Film, our quirky little artsy movie house always has a great film to see.
Two amazing spas are close by for your pleasure: The River Rock Spa and the Emerson Spa.
Golf at the Woodstock Public Golf Course or the Lazy Swan, a beautiful new club with a restaurant where people love to meet for drinks and dinner. For the kids there is a corn maze and a Haunted Barn complete with roaming buffalo that share the property.
The simple beauty of our Catskill Mountains and the great hiking trails could provide many days of entertainment.
The beautiful Platte Clove waterfall and hiking trails are just down our road.
