I love the outdoor life - skiing of course , walking & I used to rock climb !!, I love driving & have driven all over the world , enjoy driving to Chatel , staying at Chambre d'Hote's , buying champagne & wine !
I have one dog- black labrador -- Rhum is rum 2 years ago he ate 2 Christmas cakes nearly killed himself , they are not allowed dried fruit etc. !
I love Le Jessi & looking after it hoping that is comfortable for my guests as everybody is so welcome. I also welcome everyone to my cottage in the Lake District which I rent out .

Chatel & the area is so beautiful , it is a farming community which I have been used to all my life . The view from the long balcony of the apartment is stunning , ever changing & you look towards the Famous Abondance Valley -- it is a fanastic pick up both winter & summer .
We bought the apartment ' Off Plan ' !! we fell in love with the view & the situation -- near all amenties -- shops , bars, cafes , restaruants , ski lifts , free navette , ski shops , accessibilty from France & Switzerland . It is a great sucess , loved by family , friends & guests alike , you are able to catch a free navette -- Ligne 1 -- outside the apartment although it is 2 minute walk to the shops .
The apartment is very well equipped & it is extremely useful having 2 loos & my own private parking space underneath the building..
We found the apartment as described and very well equipped. The views down the valley are brilliant. The instructions supplied were comprehensive and useful. I recommend this apartment.
A lot of care and attention to detail has gone into this compact but well furnished chalet. Everything you need is there, and more besides, and detailed instructions covering everything you need to know. Veronica is really helpful and obviously wants her guests ti be comfortable - cannot fault it. Chatel in September is quiet, being off-season, which we knew, but the views are great and a good mix of weather (snow last night, but 25 degrees and sunny on arrival, with more sun to come).
Would certainly want to come back - probably in the summer season when more is open, but we were stuck with our travel dates, and not disappointed at all. Lovely clean air a real bonus, and access to Switzerland in 5 minutes - then on to Chamonix/Mont Blanc in around an hour. The drive up the valley to Chatel is great, but windy, and you are not far from Lake Geneva (50 mins) which is always worth a visit.
This is a great apartment, practical, homely and clean. Plenty of storage, 2 loos (very handy), great inventory for those who want to cook. Absolutely fantastic views down the valley. Nice touch of a welcome bottle of wine from the owner.
We spent a perfect holiday in Chatel in a really well-equipped, comfortable and cosy appartment - with a marvellous view over the Abondance valley.
After lots of splendid walks (our favourite was the walk to "Chalet du Mouet") and a short, refreshing swim in the new out-door swimming pool (more or less next door to the appartment) - we enjoyed our evenings on the balcony watching the sunset and the breath-taking horizon.
The location of the appartment just like the description of its equipment correspond exactly to what we were expecting because of the information we had found on the HomeAway Website before. So if you you want to spend a relaxing holiday with a lot of possibilities to go hill walking, it's the place to go.
We had a lovely family ski holiday in Chatel. The apartment is very well located in Chatel, within easy walking reach of the shops, restaurants and ski lift.
With two children, aged 8 and 5, the lift was near enough for us all to carry our own ski equipment, which is very useful!
The apartment certainly was home from home for us, providing spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation.
The vast ski domain provides for all abilities, which includes a good mix of ski runs for beginners and a great ski school that our children enjoyed.
We definitely recommend this apartment, and we have already booked in for next ski season!
Veronica's apartment is in a fantastic position, close to the centre of Chatel, but quiet. The living area is spacious, bright and welcoming with stunning views out the double French windows onto the balcony, looking over the town and down the Abondance valley to snow capped peaks. We had the treat of waking up every morning to breakfast while watching the sun rise into clear blue skies. The apartment has everything you need and more, and lots of little touches to make the stay easy and comfortable. The covered parking space and ski locker are a real bonus, and there is lots of storage throughout. We loved the apartment and the skiing in Chatel, as well as the new heated outdoor swimming pool a short walk from the apartment. We hope we will be back!
Located in Chatel village on the Route de Vonnes. Approximately 1.5 hours drive from Geneva airport. 8/9 hours from Calais by car
Haute Savoie cuisine is excellent with many local dishes on offer. Chatel is located in the heart of the Portes de Soleil between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. There are 650kms of pistes & 200 ski lifts in the famous Portes de Soleil area which has 12 ski resorts in France & Switzerland , the pistes are serviced extremely well & also there are many snow canons A new ski lift -- liason from Super Chatel to Lac Vonne then another lift to the top of Le Linga ..
Chatel is a ' FAMILLE PLUS MONTAGNE RESORT ' & there is a Welcome booklet for families available at the Tourist Office . Available is the LES MOUFLETS DAY NURSERY open daily for 3 months to 6 years - which is very good.
CLUB PIOU PIOU( Les Marmottons ) ski school is available for children aged 3 to 6 years from beginners to preparation level for ' Ourson level ' -- my grandson started there & is now a very good skier. While you are skiing it is peace of mind .
The MILKA PURPLE PISTEis such fun , skiing the piste which features a fun presentation .of the Alpine Fauna & series of Information boards -- I won't tell you more !!
In the SmoothPark , rails , kickers, slide boxes, hips & more awaitboth beginner & experienced freestylers!
FUN ZONE is about 250 m long there is a timing device & electronic speed display -- located in the Super-Chatel / Chalet Neuf sector -- it is a fun & educational area to raise awareness of the importance of controlling speed .
FLOODLIT SKIING at the Linga stadium on Thursday evenings
Chatel is also very popular in the Summer for walking & mountain biking -- large world events are held here.
During both winter & summer seasons the Chatel Tourist Office provides a programme of activities for both adults & children , concerts and they will give you advice on various walks.
In the apartment are guide books , maps & information about the area . Also there are board games .
LA VIELLE DOUANE is a new museum - it is the old customs house which has been converted into a cultural tourist attraction , offering visitors a different view of this border region - very interesting.
There are various Spa's in the village -- the information is in the Chatel brochure which is full of information to help you to enjoy your stay in Chatel.
In Chatel there is a new swimming pool with many facilities -- Form 'd'Or .
Just over the Swiss border there are 2 thermal pools -- VAL d'ILLIEZ & LAVET LE BAINS they are great fun -- open summer & winter -- wonderful been in the pool looking towards to snow covered mountains -- what a treat !
Down the valley in ABONDANCE there is the famous ABBEY with very old outside wall paintings & the MAISON D' ABONDANCE which is a museum/ information centre of the region & it tells you about the famous Abondance cheese -- the Abondance cows have brown spectacles on !!
In MORGIN, just over the Swiss border there is a very interesting walk along the PLANETARY WAY , on the way call in at the farm cafe and look at the carved tables inside -- it is all the signatures from the region of Monthey .
Walks , bird watching & abundance of wild flowers & if you are lucky you may see a Marmotte or hear one -- they soound like a buzzard.
In the summer there is an offer of a MULTI PASS 2 €uro per day per person , it is really good value & helps you to discover the mountains & activities
Le Jessi is very well situated in the lovely Savoyard village of Chatel where the restraunts provide excellent food including Savoyard specialities -- fondues , tartiflette , racelette & berthoud -- they are very tasty .
