Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Lexington

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 8

Cute 2 bedroom Bavarian style cottage, with views of Lake Huron, and located just 5 houses away from the beach. This quaint and rustic cottage can sleep up to 8, perfect for those family get togethers. Sit in the sunroom and enjoy the wonderful breeze and watch the freighters go by. The cottage has window AC’s for those warm summer days and central heat for those chilly nights. Enjoy starry nights by the bonfire to roast marshmallows and make memories. Close to downtown to visit the shops, fishing, kayak rentals, a public park, beach and pier. Come stay awhile and experience what it means to be on Thumb time.

About Grant Wenzinger

I spent my summers as a child in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, NJ. Having moved to Michigan as an Adult I was drawn to the Great Lakes and we found this cottage near the beautiful clear waters of Lake Huron which reminds me a bit of the Jersey Beach house I spent my summers in as a child. Lake Huron might not be the ocean, but it has its own charm. Sometimes calm, clear and smooth as glass and sometimes its waves would make you think you’re looking at the ocean.

Grant Wenzinger purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Grant Wenzinger chose Eastern Michigan

Lexington is called the first resort North and is located just 20 min north of Port Huron and 1.5 hours from the Metro Detroit area. Great views of the crystal clear water of Lake Huron. Great property to just get away and forgot your cares and feel like you left the world behind. Close to downtown Lexington with shopping, Brewery and wine house, restaurants, public beach, marina, kayak and boat rentals, fishing and much more.

What makes this cottage unique

Views of Lake Huron with private community beach access located just 5 houses away. Amazing variety of old cottages in the neighborhood to enjoy on a walk or bike ride around the block. Sports Bar at the end of the street.

My 2 daughters (ages 5 and 16 months), my Mother and I enjoyed a mid-week getaway at this amazing cottage off the Lake. The owners have thought of everything. Pack a change of clothes, groceries and a book or two - That's all you need. This is the perfect rental for families with small children. Everything is located on one level. The back deck acted as a playroom and the girls spent hours playing together there. We will definitely book this location again.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable space with plenty of seating and supplies for your visit

The cottage is decorated very inviting. The owners have done a great job of supplying anything you might need during your time at the cottage, even items for s'mores. The cabin is walking distance to the beach and is located in a quiet, charming neighborhood. We will definitely use the cabin next time we are in town. We have also shared our experience to other family members that might be visiting the Michigan area.

Feels like home.

  • 5 of 5

The Wenzinger’s have done it again. A perfect cottage with just enough rustic appeal with all the amenities a home needs. Just bring some groceries. The beaches and lake are beautiful, clean and refreshing. We swam every day. The surrounding restaurants and shops are abundant and second to none. The locals are very friendly. Thank you for giving my family a lifetime of memories and looking forward to next year.

Sincerely, the Moffitts

Beautiful and clean

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I brought our two small children (ages 3 and 2) to this cottage. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The cottage is extremely clean, and decorated beautifully! We especially loved the sunroom. The renters thought of everything with the amenities. The rental process was simple and the renters responded to all communication quickly. You really don't need to bring much, everything is provided. The beach is very nice and most of the time we went to the beach, we were the only ones there. Lexington is a wonderful little town and there's lots to do. We can't wait to return!

Want to go back

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of this cottage do not do it justice! Having the extra space with the back, enclosed porch made this place the perfect size for our group of 8. The kitchen looks kind of small in the picture but there was plenty of room with 3 of us preparing and cooking our meals. The extras that everyone speaks of in other reviews make this a great place to go without needing to pack everything you own. We had 2 kids with us and they were in heaven while playing on the screened in porch, chasing each other around the outside of the house (there is a front gate to help keep them in the yard), going for walks around the community watching the water and looking at the other great cottages, and getting in the car for a short ride to town or a park. For the adults, it was great to sit in the screened in porch and play a game or have a drink while enjoying the view of the water. The beds were very comfortable and more then enough room to sleep 8 of us! We had a wonderful few days getting away from everyday life!

Cute and Cozy cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect for our needs! I stayed with my parents and two young kids and everyone just adored the cottage and had a great trip. The interior was tasteful and cozy and had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for us and they provided lots of little extras; games, coloring books, sundries, etc.
