Welcome to St. Petersburg, Florida the land of Sun, Sand and Sailing!
Our Bayside retreat is located in one of St. Petersburg's most desirable neighborhoods, 'The Old Northeast', and is ideally situated just a few blocks from The Tampa Bay waterfront, restaurants and bars, shopping, sailing, The Dali museum, the Muvico Theatre complex, live music venues, beautiful North Shore Park, vintage markets, the historic Vinoy hotel and a continuous string of green parks that wind along the seven-mile waterfront and is home to many special events and festivals throughout the year.
The 2 bedroom, 2 bath residence is warm and welcoming and situated in family friendly 'Historic Old Northeast', a neighborhood of charming brick streets, palm trees, historic homes and the waterfront. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and provides a tranquil night’s sleep - simple and uncluttered - while the second serene bedroom is bathed in lots of natural light during the day, has a full-sized futon bed, a basket of books for kids and adults and a desk area. Both bedrooms are located upstairs.
The kitchen is compact but with all necessary equipment including a dishwasher, oven and stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and all the kitchen essentials needed to make your stay comfortable.
Your home away from home is just steps from St. Petersburg's Beach Drive which anchors downtown shopping, dining and entertainment districts that include outdoor cafes and restaurants, world class museums and an array of shops, galleries, and businesses that line the city’s pedestrian-friendly streets.
We are only a 15-20 minute drive from The Gulf of Mexico and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With an average temperature of 73.6 degrees, St. Petersburg records 361 sunny days which means you can enjoy the beach almost anytime of the year.

Live simply, live lovely this has always been my motto and St. Petersburg offers just this lifestyle! Our family loves spending time together to enjoy the things we love with the people we love. We recently made St. Petersburg our home to do just that. We hope you will find your time here in St. Pete full of simple pleasures and wonderful experiences.
Tania Welch purchased this cottage in 2014
If you believe in serendipity you'll love this story! We stayed at the Vinoy Hotel a couple of years ago and fell in love with this area, in particular our neighborhood, The Old Northeast. The laid back lifestyle, the stunning waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the Tampa Bay Waterfront, and the sense of community are just a few of the qualities that we love in our new city. Last Summer we decided to rent a home to see if we could really live here. We knew almost immediately we would make St. Pete our home sooner than later. A few months after returning home to Orlando, we enlisted the help of a wonderful realtor. We told her we wanted a small home, with outdoor space, and a garage apartment. The hard part was that we had fallen in love with the location of the home we had rented that Summer. The proximity to every place we loved was ideal for our family. We basically gave our realtor a very small area in which to find us a home. As fate would have it, we ended up purchasing the home right next door to the home we had rented in the Summer. Perfect home in a perfect location!
We love our home and the garage apartment. Not only are they both lovely and charming but nothing beats walking out of your door and being able to walk everywhere. Walking outside the door and down the street and seeing a view of the Bay is priceless. We are most certainly 'HOME' and we are sure you will feel the same way during your stay!
This was our first time using this service and my husband and I were not disappointed with this clean, charming and private rental property. The Wave House was extremely well maintained and you can tell the owners take pride in their property. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to visit the St. Petersburg area. The apartment exceeded our expectations and offered all the comforts of home. There is even a great little private covered patio area for morning coffee.
Easy parking and access to the apartment. Located in a great family neighborhood for biking (which they provide for your use) or just taking a stroll to local restaurants and parks. We loved staying here and would not hesitate to book this property again for future visits. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Tania for hosting us and for a great experience!
Wave house was just the right place for us. Loved the location close to town. Easy parking in the alley. There were two little bedrooms plus a sofa downstairs (one of the kids kicks in their sleep so our daughter started sleeping on the couch!) It was handy to have the extra bathroom downstairs too (had the teenage daughter setup down there.) Kitchen was well equipped. Played a lot of games and cards on the round dining table during our down time. There was a nice flat screen TV downstairs, but we never turned it on. The couple of lounging chairs upstairs were adequate for reading. Couldn't have picked a better place for our St. Pete excursion.
The Wave House offer easy access to all things downtown St. Pete. Lovely stroll to the restaurants and parks. A clean smartly decorated home had all we needed within the house. We did rent a car to go to the St Pete beach,. We would either go back for a shower, and restaurants, or straight to the gardens for a post beach stroll. Either way, The Wave House made everything convenient. Our sincere thanks to the owners, they were very nice and available if needed.
This was the first time I used this service. From day one I knew I made a great move. Everything I needed was there. The place was clean, and we enjoyed the outside patio. I will stay here anytime I come to St Petersburg. I would highly recommend this location
Beautiful experience! Great property and very clean. We had a fabulous experience. Tania was very available if needed. Very spacious for my adult daughter and 2 little boys and me. Accessible walking distance to do many attractions. Nearby parks, restaurants, stores. We will absolutely return. Well-priced as well.
We stayed at Tania's Wave House from Feb. 6th to Mar. 19th, 2016 and made this apartment our home away from home for 6 weeks. We knew from the photos on VRBO what to expect and we weren't disappointed. Ben and Tania were very easy to contact with anything we should need. This apartment was well within an easy walk to the many parks, restaurants and shops located in the downtown area of St. Petersburg and a short car ride to beaches and parks in the St. Petersburg area. We entered the property to a quaint, private, brick floored patio area that led to the front door. On the main floor was a living room with a couch and large screen TV, large storage closet, one full bathroom and separate laundry area with high efficiency washer and dryer. A staircase led to the second floor which offered a galley kitchen with refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave oven and garburator. A small dining area was by the kitchen which connected to a sitting area, 2 bedrooms, one with a queen sized captain's bed and one with a futon that folded down to a double bed, and a second full bathroom which included a jetted bathtub/ shower. We added a memory foam topper that make the futon more comfortable. We were very comfortable at the Wave House and found the apartment very clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend the Wave House to our friends and family and would not hesitate to book this property again with Tania Welsh. I hope this helps in your decision of choosing this property.
