Stickle Tarn Lodge pine cabin occupies a genuinely unique and peaceful woodland setting within the White Cross Bay holiday park and marina beside Lake Windermere, just to the north of Windermere town. It is fully equipped to provide a wonderful self-catering holiday for up to six people and is in an ideal location for enjoying all that Windermere and the Lake District have to offer! The lodge enjoys what several guests have commented on as being the best location in the park. About 5-10 mins walk from the lake shore, it has its own distinct plot with a garden and grass bank leading down to the dry stone wall. With woodland rising up behind it, there is a distinct sense of seclusion; and yet the front aspect opens up to an uninterrupted view over the park. Bird song is all around. Some guests have seen deer close by.
On the verified Google listing (Google “Stickle Tarn Lodge”), one guest recently reviewed:
" it is the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District. Well-equipped, pristinely clean, plenty of homely touches and an excellent DVD collection! Would highly recommend. We'll be back!"
** The Brockhole Visitor Centre is with its amazing Treetop Adventure (A Go-Ape-style challenge with lengthy zip wires), Aerial Treetop Nets, and free Adventure playground is just 10-15 minutes walk away - or 2 minute drive. Please see photos in the gallery! **

White Cross Bay Leisure Park is located alongside Lake Windermere itself, about two miles north of the town. The park has been described, quite justifiably, as: "the most idyllic and scenic holiday location in the heart of the Lake District".
Within the main complex building (5 mins, or less, walk away, or ) there is literally 'something for everyone': Reception; Swimming Pool; Sauna; Gym; Large Bar; Restaurant; Shop; Fast-food outlet; Games arcade; Beer garden and Childrens' play area; and an outdoor multi-sports court.
[PLEASE NOTE: A one-off fee of £15.00 is payable to White Cross Bay reception to purchase a leisure pass – if required. This allows entry to the swimming pool/gym facilities for the whole party throughout the duration of your visit]
In recent years, White Cross Bay has introduced a dedicated entertainments team which caters to all ages and tastes. An arrival, you will be given a schedule of the daily events (note: some of these are charged as extras, such as certain popular pool activities for the family: e.g. water walkers and aqua jets). There is also a supervised play area where children can be looked after safely.
On the other hand, there is ample space and facility within the park to enjoy quieter types of entertainment. There is, for example, an extensive woodland area in the park - inhabited by deer - which is accessible for guests to explore and enjoy, or for dog walking. The woodland walks are very nearly within a stone’s throw distance from the lodge.
Finally, if required, there is a well equipped launderette literally just a couple of minutes away.
