About Lannette Karnes
We are a family of six who love to travel. Whether staying at our family paradise, Crossings Cottage or touring Ireland we love taking journeys and spending time together.
Lannette Karnes purchased this House in 2004
Why Lannette Karnes chose Tallmansville
We built this house on family ground. Our grandparents grew up in this little piece of heaven. The cottage has every convenience and comfort. It is fully stocked for your pleasure. Isn't it time to make some memories for your family on the river?
What makes this House unique
At a large bend in the Buckhannon River, paradise awaits you. Enjoy morning walks up the railroad tracks, afternoons swimming in the river and evenings around the campfire. You can enjoy the rustic surroundings while having a luxurious home with satellite TV, WiFi and Jacuzzi tub when you are tired of 'roughing' it.

Warm, Inviting River Retreat
Our girlfriend get away was wonderful here at the river cottage. Nine women from five states we're surrounded by God's beauty this past weekend! The house was well stocked and comfy! The caretakers were friendly and helpful. We will be staying again.
Only downside was the roads getting into the site - mainly a one car road and definitely a little intimidating if you're not used to country roads in WV.
Very nice relaxing and enjoyable place
Kitchen very well equipped...loved the place spotless quick to answer any questions and more than helpful on anything we needed or asked...10 stars!!
We enjoyed our stay although we were not at the house very much. The house was very clean and the river was beautiful. With three couples we never ran out of towels and that is very unusual. The kitchen was well stocked. It is quite a drive back into Buckhannon and the roads are very curvy. But, along the way you can enjoy all the deer herds and beautiful countryside. The only disadvantage is all the bedrooms are upstairs with two baths and the third one (bath) is on the main floor so for couples it was a little awkward. This is a beautiful area and I can guarantee summertime would be awesome here. The deck is absolutely wonderful. Thanks for a fun stay.
Beautiful Vacation Place
We had a great 5 days here, we were happy with how well stocked the place was. We had a couple of days of rain but spent that time on the covered deck playing games. We would tell anyone to go there for a very relaxing fun stay.
Very nice home, peaceful riverside
We had a great family experience here, young children included. The home is a bit off the beaten track, but that worked perfectly for us. Well furnished with grill, plenty of outdoor/river toys (canoe, kayak, tubes, etc). However the washer/dryer was not working, which we did not find out until we arrived. It would have been helpful to know that ahead of time. Butch and Connie checked in on us a couple times and were so friendly and helpful. Butch was willing to deliver firewood for a small cost. Thanks!
We now have a brand new washer and dryer. I am sorry that they did not arrive before your stay. We had them replaced as soon as was possible. Everything should be in good working order the next time you come!
Just the type of home and experience you look for. The house is well kept and stocked. My family and I enjoyed the beauty and serenity surrounding us. I can not imagine anyone having a complaint or not having a relaxing time.
We have rented homes for years. This one was outstanding.
West Virginia Wildlife Center at French Creek is a short drive and the Swiss Village of Helvetia is about 30 minutes away and The Hutte Restaurant is world famous for its Sunday brunch. Audra State Park is a short drive as well.
