Hello. My name is Renee Brown. I am married with 2 daughters. I have spent the last 8 years on the road as my oldest daughter played competitive softball. We spent a lot of time in hotels and eating out. This made me realize there had to be a better way to live while being on the road. I began to dream about having a home with a garage apartment where families could spend time together in a more home-like atmosphere and not have to eat every meal out. My daughter then gave me a sign reading 'Enjoy the little things in life for someday you will realize they were the big things'. This really began to hit home as my daughter was in her senior year. Time just flies by and I really believe you have to take advantage of every moment with your family. We are all rushed and vacation time should be about winding down a little and really enjoying time together. Not driving each other crazy being piled up in a hotel room. In January of 2014, we were able to purchase the house next door. It had really fallen into disrepair and me and my family spent the next 8 months working on it. We completely remodeled the interior and spruced up the exterior. My Dad has years of experience remodeling and was a huge help. I couldn't have done it without him. He went down in March as he needed a knee replacement so a lot of the work was left to me. I had no idea what I was doing, but worked hard and learned a lot! I think all the blood, sweat and tears that went into Buffalo Junction paid off. It is now a comfortable, inviting home that is perfect for families, couples or friends to stay while visiting Canyon. I hope you will consider us for your next trip. We will do everything we can to make your stay a great one.
Renee Brown purchased this cottage in 2014
This house was built in 1920. It has lots of charm, with tall ceilings, and original hardwood floors, but has been completely updated. It is within walking distance to the Square where you will find great shopping, restaurants and the nationally ranked Place Coffee Co. We are also located blocks from WTAMU.
This guest home offers charm and convenience to great local hot spots. It has a fully furnished kitchen and is a great place for families to stay. I believe parents visiting students at WTAMU would really enjoy spending time with their family in a home like atmosphere, and I know that their WT student would love a home cooked meal. As an added bonus, If you will let me know you are coming to visit your student, I will donate 2 % of the nightly rate to the department of your choice.
The house is welcoming and decorated so cute. There is plenty of room to stretch out and feel right at home. We have been staying at a local hotel for four years while our son attended WTAMU and wish we would have discovered Buffalo Junction a lot sooner. Loved the updated kitchen and bathroom. Our plane was delayed so we arrived in around midnight to a snack assortment and water in the frig. It was such a treat after a long day! Also loved the coffee bar! Thank you for providing a perfect place as we celebrate our son's graduation. We will definately be back!
We couldn't have asked for better accommodations for our trip to Canyon. Not only adorably decorated, Buffalo Junction was comfortable, cozy, clean, and in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were able to relax and feel at home after each of our day hikes in Palo Duro Canyon. Luxurious beds/bedding, high-quality towels, everything one needs in the kitchen - - every need is considered. If we return, and I hope we do, we know exactly where we want to stay! Thanks, Renee!
My Goodness! What a great place to stay. We were welcomed with a basket of small snacks on the dining room table WITH a thank you note to us from Renee'. She provided coffee, plates, silverware, pots and pans, a washer and dryer, soap, paper towels. Everything you can think of. The bed was comfortable. The backyard would be great for kids. She has a sandbox, little people chairs...The house was in a GREAT location. It was also clean. The ONLY thing I had a difficult time with was the step out the back door. I didn't expect quite such a drop. Renee' is a great "landlord." We had a great time and will certainly stay in this home again if we get the opportunity. It honestly is well worth the cost. Thanks Renee'!
Buffalo Junction is an adorable place to stay in the Palo Duro Canyon area! My family and I loved staying in this comfortable and homey place. The updates are great and the beds are super plush and comfortable. I highly recommend this home for a vacation rental!
The little house was in a nice area. House was clean and well put together. Setting area out back was peaceful. Can't wait till
We can stay again
I want to thank you Renee for such a nice home to stay in while on the road working. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen offered everything I could need and more. I hope to stay again when working in the area. Thank you for the restaurant pamphlet's, I was able to eat at Feldman's Wrong way Diner and it was delicious. I would say more nice things but I'm hoping it will be available next time I'm in town.
