Why Linda and Andy Spreitzer chose Southampton

Best Property Quality and Location / Phenomenal Owners
When you've experienced VRBO properties over a dozen times you come to rely on research and reviews more and more.
This home is simply amazing. Peaceful views, amazing access to water activities, brilliant and updated layout. The quality of the furnishings, grounds and home is top notch.
The bathrooms were spotless and updated. The charm was incredible for such a spacious home. The pool and its surrounding garden cared for in style.
Prior to our arrival the cleaning service had a delay and the owners personally cleaned the entire property with intense detail.
Detailed landscaping, fixturing, linens, kitchenware and more were all top quality and in excellent condition.
We cannot emphasize enough that this property is hands down at the highest rating. Those new to VRBO should do their research when choosing another house in the area as it likely would pale in comparison to what Andy and Linda have built here.
Amazing experience for our family and will seek to return again!
We so enjoyed having you and your family stay with us. You were wonderful guests who appreciated our sensibility and showed it in your care for the house! We hope to see you again soon! Thanks, Linda
Even better than we thought it would be!
Our first impression was already perfect, because upon entering the driveway we realized how beautifully arranged and very well maintained the front garden was - this always says a lot about the whole property!
As we entered the front courtyard, we were surprised by the wonderful garden around the pool. This was obviously a very much loved garden which was well tended and planted with a keen eye for perennials and shrubs. The pool is not very big but was ideal for the four children to have fun in. Also there is a sitting area from where you can watch the children in the pool. The front courtyard is very sheltered, so it can be used during all kinds of weather, regardless of the wind.
The house is quite big and airy with spaces which interconnect. The best part is the dining table looking out over the bay, although this is quite unfair to say, as the sitting area in front of the fireplace and another table for dining or playing board games are also very nice. The kitchen has everything you need and the atmosphere of the whole place is very comfortable and relaxed as well as up to date. Everything has got a maritime flair.
The upstairs was renovated just before our stay and consists of three spacious bedrooms - all with their own bathroom - as well as another smaller bedroom. Of course everything was very clean and everything we could ever need was already provided. We all slept very well.
The living area opens out onto a terrace with deckchairs, sitting area and barbecue. From there a few steps lead down to the lawn which is big enough for children to play. A few more steps down and you are at the beach or in the water - depending on the tide. Boats are provided as well as paddle boards. The small inlet is connected to Shinnecock bay. THE VIEW IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! As it points westward you have the nicest sunsets you can imagine.
Everything is very well presented and could well have been featured in an interior magazine (but only to a degree where you want to use it and do feel comfortable).
If we would not be living in Europe we would definitely try to come here very often.
This is the first property we stayed in where the pictures did not promise too much!
Thank you so much for your review. It’s especially nice for us when guests appreciate our gardens and the work we put into the house. Please come again!
Lovely house and lovely location
We normally rent closer to town but this year we decided to rent by the water and we are glad that we did. We loved it! The house is bright and airy and beachy and the expansive view of the water is absolutely amazing. My kids especially loved the warm pool and kayaking with their dad. My husband was happy that he could go kayaking and paddle boarding every day. The owners, Andy and Linda, were extremely nice and very responsive. All in all, it was a perfect summer rental.
We really enjoyed having you as our guests! We hope you will decide to return next year when you visit your family again!
What a beach cottage should be
We stayed in this charming cottage for a week in July. It was exactly what we wanted and the location, quality and property all exceeded our expectations. The owners, Linda & Andy, have put an incredible amount of effort into this cottage, and it shows. It is decorated with an attention to detail that is amazing, and it is a property that in person, is every bit as good as the pictures. First, it is a very private cottage. While you have neighbors, the houses are spaced and the landscaping is such that you have all the privacy you want. The water is right in front of the house, and I found myself waking up early to sit either in the dining room or on the deck watching the bay come alive while the family slept. It was a total de-stresser and was an amazing way to start the day. The house is conveniently located about a 10 min drive to Southampton village, and 10 mins to the amazing beaches of Southampton, including Coopers (which requires you to pay to park) and Road D (which doesn't but you have to get there early to get a parking spot). The pool at the house was awesome - just the right size to take a dip, and allowed for private sunbathing. It is set in an amazing garden that has to be seen to be believed. It is like a postcard all to itself and was a welcome respite from the heat in the middle of the day.
On the "nitty gritty", the beds/linens were very comfortable, there are more than enough towels/blankets and sleeping accommodations. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, but make sure you do a grocery run before you turn up. If you want spices/etc. for cooking that you use regularly, remember to throw some in your bag before you come so you don't have to buy a whole bottle and leave it (e.g. pepper, seasoning salt for grilling, etc.). The outdoor grill is excellent, so be sure to take advantage of it! The home has a regular coffee maker and a Nespresso (original) machine. Bring capsules if you want to use it as we didn't find a place to buy them in town.
Andy and Linda were outstanding hosts and live nearby. They were great about answering questions and providing info about the area.
To sum it up, when we drove away from this property, we were i) wondering exactly when we were coming back and ii) regretting that we were leaving. That is the definition of a successful stay!
Thanks you so much for the kind words. I am running out to get more spices and more espresso capsules. There is always sea salt and fresh pepper in the grinder and olive oil and an assortment of many spices but I need to show everyone exactly where this stuff is. Hope to see you again soon. Andy
Perfect place for a relaxing getaway
This house in Southampton made for a perfect little getaway -- gorgeous, sunlit cozy place with all the amenities and so well-stocked and nicely furnished and decorated. Right on the water, with a deck that leads into a great backyard for kids play, and a separate private pool (heated! - which meant the little ones could stay in the water as long as we wanted them to) which was also closed off to ensure safety for young kids. To enjoy the beautiful sunsets on the deck, be sure to bring insect repellent as the lawn, while lovely, in the evening has little flying bugs that bite. Very well thought out floor plan, features, lovely garden, etc and it felt very private. Location is close to everything but far enough away from the Hamptons madness. The owners were so friendly and relaxed. We couldn't have asked for more and hope to return again soon.

We had an amazing week at Andy and Linda's amazing home. The house is situated on a private street that people rarely drive down. The house is on a beautiful lot, with private beautifully landscaped heated pool. The home is large and spacious and has a vast backyard on the bay with beautiful western exposure for unbelievable sunsets. Our children loved seeing the swans every morning and finding crabs in the sand in the morning. The kitchen was great and we bbq'd often. The homeowners are as nice as can be and completely available to answer any questions. They personally toured the home to us and were very inviting. House is updated, clean and perfect. The drive to Southampton village was minutes away and we look forward to definitely staying again.
