With over 2000 square feet this 4 bedroom/3.5 bathroom home has everything you need for a fantastic St. Augustine stay. The main house built in 2006 and cottage in 1875 have all of the modern conveniences you desire. The home design includes thoughtful touches throughout including stained glass doors and windows, hardwood floors, granite countertops, shuttered windows and original local artwork throughout.
The home is situated in a wonderful walkable neighborhood between the famed Fort Castillo De San Marcos and the beautiful Mission De Nombres. Plus it's a short and pretty walk to all of the historical sites in downtown St. Augustine.
Main House-The first floor has an open floor plan overlooking the heated saline pool with LR, Full Kitchen and dining room space for 6-8. The Living Room has a 42 inch wall hung flat screen TV. Kitchen has full size refrigerator and stove, DW, microwave, coffeemaker and garbage disposal. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms separated by a hallway, laundry area and Jack and Jill bathrooms. Bedroom 1 has a Queen Size bed, French doors to the upper porch and a large closet. Bedroom 2 has 2 comfy twin beds (or we can combine to make a King). It is also connected to the cottage via a glassed in breezeway but is completely separate and can be closed off by 2 sets of locking doors.
Cottage: It's like having another house! It has a full kitchen, open floor Living Space with original art, wall hung TV and Breakfast Bar seating for 3. There are 2 bedrooms and each has it's own bathroom. One room has a King bed and the other a Queen. Both have superior memory foam mattresses and linens. The Queen bedroom also has a wall hung TV.
This is a lovely home with lots of nice touches, comfortable furnishings and cheerful sunny rooms.
Wifi, bluetooth speaker, 2 adult and 1 child bike, beach umbrella, cooler, gas grill, fire pit. and heated saline pool.
Interaction with Guests
While we prefer to give guests all of the privacy and space they desire if you need anything at all we have a local team including caretaker on hand and we are only a text or phone call away!
Situated near downtown and all of the action but a truly residential and quiet spot with lots of old trees and breezes from Matanzas Bay. You will see families, retirees and colorful long time residents. Our neighborhood has a nice mix of architecture and home values too. Simple cottages built as servants quarters across the street and million dollar waterfront properties 1 block over. It's a safe, friendly and very desirable spot!
You can easily walk to most of the things you will want to see. If you do need help you can take a pedicab, taxi, horse and carriage, Segway or our bikes.
Important to Note
No events, gatherings, visitors, pets (unless approved by owner), smoking, parties, disruptions or other disregard of lease terms can occur or terms of rental are void and immediate eviction will be enforced. Persons other than those specified in the booking are not allowed in/on the property unless approved by us in advance. If you would like to have a visitor please coordinate with us in advance. Please let us know who, when and for how long you expect your guest. Parking will also need to be coordinated as we have limited space.
We have an automated system for maintaining the temperature in the property. The lowest cool setting is 72 and the highest heat setting is 70. You may adjust the air in between those settings but the system will reset automatically if you go below or above. There are ceiling fans in every room of the property but we ask that you turn them off when leaving the house for extended periods.
Note: The pool is not heated during January and February to avoid damaging the heater.
External security cameras in use. This is for your protection and protection of the property. Video recordings occur incrementally. Video are routinely deleted by the system and would only be shared with law enforcement as needed.
CANCELATION or EARLY DEPARTURE – There are NO REFUNDS for CANCELLATION OR EARLY DEPARTURES EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN. If a Guest requests a cancellation 60 DAYS or more before check-in, Owner will make a “best effort” to re-rent the property. If the Owner is able to successfully re-rent the reserved period, the Owner will refund the total rental payment less a $300 servicing fee. Guest may obtain a “Cancel for Any Reason” policy through a third party. Guest ASSUMES THE RISK.

We are a family of 3 who live between St. Augustine and a small rural town in CT. We love traveling, camping and visiting historical sites. And like most Jacksonville FL natives we've been to St. Augustine a 'million' times. For starters my family has attended the St. Augustine Easter Parade for over 40 years! In fact, when we moved to St. Augustine there was not a street, restaurant or historic site that we didn't already know well. It was like we'd always been here.

There are certain neighborhoods in St. Augustine that we have always enjoyed strolling through. Historic Abbott Tract (our neighborhood) has always been at the top of the list. Snuggled in between the Fort and the Mission alongside the beautiful Matanzas Bay it's one the best bases for exploring the exciting and historic downtown core. So when we found this unique home (which is basically two homes connected) we knew right away that it was perfect for us. We felt it had the right blend of architecture (some old and some new) and we loved the layout and overall vibe. We added the heated saline pool right away because the lot was small and it seemed the best way to utilize the space. We were right-it's been a big hit ever since! But the best part is walking to everything. At night when you walk past the beautifully lit Castillo De San Marcos on your way to dinner you know that you are lucky indeed! We hope you find your time in our home and neighborhood special too.
This architect designed property is unique in that you have a wonderful mesh of old and new. The 2 story portion built in 2006 connects via glassed in breezeway to the lovingly restored cottage built in 1875. Heart pine floors, plantation shutters and tropical colors bind these structures together yet the open floor plan allows for modern living and conveniences. We love how comfortable it is to live in this home. It's upscale but relaxed. It feels fresh yet you notice touches of age with original bead board ceilings, stained glass windows and antique doors. With tons of windows it seems always to be full of sunshine. Comfortable and cozy. The location is exceptional and the neighborhood vibe is one of community and diversity. Everybody knows everybody...and we love it that way.
We had a great experience staying at this property! The property is exactly as described. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the pool at the property. The kitchen is well stocked to allow for cooking. The fort and San Marco shops are easily walkable. Pauline was a wonderfully responsive host and addressed all our questions. I'd highly recommend this property.

We celebrated a 70th and a 40th birthday weekend in style. This house easily accommodated 7 adults and could have easily held 1-2 more on rollaway beds. The pool was beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped. And I can't say enough about the layout of the house paired with the cottage. Should we ever return to St. Augustine, this will be the house I return to. No need to look any farther. I wish there were houses and renters like this every where we traveled. Pauline and her property are top notch!
During our wedding weekend, my fiancee and I stayed in the main house with some members of the bridal party in the cottage. We loved every minute! The house and cottage were clean, well-kept, and had plenty of space. The layout was close enough that we could hang out with all of our friends, but also far enough that we still had our own space when we wanted. Pauline was great -- she answered all of our questions within minutes (including the night after a hurricane), and made sure we felt at home all weekend. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
We stayed in the whole property (house & cottage). Pamela has everything you could need, soaps, dishes, and many towels. Pool is an awesome bonus after a hot day touring beautiful St. Augustine. Quick and easy walk to most attractions.
