Fully fitted cottage in a friendly village location

Casa Limon is a recently renovated 2 bedroom cottage adjoining our own Cortijo (with own private entrance) situated in a delightful rural setting with beautiful views over surrounding olive clad hills & the tiny village of La Parrilla in the valley below.

Nearby is the historic town of Iznajar with ancient Moorish castle high on a rocky outcrop overlooking it's breathtaking 32km lake known as the 'Lake of Andalucia' surrounded by hills & mountains.

The charming town of Antequera with many buildings of architectural interest & nearby stunning El Torcal parque natural lie approx.30 mins away. Outdoor leisure pursuits inc.sandy lake beach with swimming,sailing,canoeing, pedaloes,fishing. Excellent walking & mountain biking country, Superb bird watching (guiding arranged)Ideally situated for exploring cities of Granada,Cordoba & Seville. Airports 50mins.

Accommodation comprises: Living room/Kitchen with tv/dvd/satellite,sofa ,chairs,dining table & chairs,access to front patio with chairs/table,fitted kitchen area with microwave oven, fridge with freezer section, gas hob, toaster, kettle and all necessary crockery & equipment. Spiral staircase to first floor with hall/landing having door to upper terrace with patio furniture, Bathroom with bath & overhead shower, WC, wash hand basin,fully tiled,window, Bedroom 1. double bed ,bedside tables, wardrobe,dressing table/drawwers,ceiling fan, window with shutter & lovely open views.

Why Roger Bushnell chose Antequera (Costa del Sol)

We wanted to be in the "Real Spain" away from the tourists with genuine Spaniards. Ideally situated close to both of the motorways of Andalucía affording access to the wonderful sites of Granada, Malaga, Antequera, Seville and the pueblo Blanco's of Andalucia

What makes this cottage unique

Far from the maddening crowds within a small community where the locals will be more than happy to pass the time of day with you.

Wonderful views of the surrounding olive groves, you may even be invited to join in with one of the many village activities

Spent a week in this cottage beginning of March. Set in a rural location surrounded by olive groves but not too far from local amenities. We found the lovely cottage clean, tidy with all the necessary equipment plus a welcome pack of essential grocery items. Also had central heating on overnight and electric blankets. Having two patios (one being on the second floor level) was a bonus to escape the heat of the sun. The pool was not in use due to the time of year but we knew this when we booked. The owners made us feel very welcome and offered lots of local knowledge. We found our day trips by road to Granada and Cordoba easy. Overall nothing negative to say. Hope to return next year.

Plenty of variety for you or you can just sit back and relax, chat to any of our locals who will be delighted to pass the time of day with you. There is a Olive Oil factory nearby where Roger may be able to arrange a tour, very interesting visit and at a small charge a translator may be available. One of the most interesting tours not official so quite charming. Available mainly from October to March only, find out where Italian Olive Oil originates?

Immaculately presented venue from outset

What a fantastic setting, on the side of the montain looking for miles over Oliver plantation. Roger and Elizabeth are top of their game. Everything in the rooms are 'just so' . We were in the 2/3 bed apartment with its own terrace and access to pool area. So quiet!!!!!!!!. Roger and Elizabeth gave us a tour of their adjoining property 'Casa Limon' Vivienda Rural VTAR?MA/01351. You can enter from road level via the front door into the Kitchen Living area, or you can enter at 1st floor level via the side of the property as the property is built into the hillside, then you have separate unimpeeded access to the pool, which is kept immaculate. Roger & Elizabeth are well respected in the locality, this was clear when we walked down to the 'locals' 2 bars a 1/4mile away. Roger knows all the places to have meals and drinks at local prices not tourist prices. His knowledge is second to none.

Owner's Response: We enjoyed meeting this couple, David & Julie, very much and as we had a bit of time we were able to take them to Candlemass in our small community of La Parrilla, stopping off at the two bars as well as the wee village square to witness the burning of an Olive tree. All we can say is " Haste ye back"

Beautifully kept villa in rural setting!

Having stayed in many properties around Europe I can say with some conviction this was undoubtedly one of the finest. Clean, comfortable and well-equipped with everything you could need for your stay.

The pool area is fantastic; we spent a good deal of time here during some unseasonably hot weather. The pool itself is well maintained and not packed full of chemicals which makes a nice change!

Roger and Elizabeth are most welcoming and always on hand to offer advice; we had our travel itinerary well planned but their expert knowledge of the local area was gratefully received.

A car is most definitely essential due to the rural location but thanks to a good road network you're within easy reach of the main Andalusian attractions. Granada, Córdoba, Sevilla and Málaga are 1-2 hours away and the smaller towns of Iznájar and Antequera nearby are worth a visit.

Overall we couldn't have been happier with our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing break and an authentic taste of Spain. Thank you so much to Roger and Elizabeth, you were both wonderful hosts and we hope to return one day!

Wspaniali ludzie, wspaniałe miejsce!

Wszystko zgadza się z opisemi zdjęciami: dom jest śliczny, czysty, ładnie urządzony i wyposażony we wszystko czego potrzebujesz. Położenie domu jest świetne jeżeli szukasz spokojnego wypoczynku - La Parilla to mała, sympatyczna wioska w sercu Andaluzji i możesz spedzić tu wakacje nigdzie daleko się nie ruszając. W najbliższym (kilkanaście km - do pół godziny samochodem) sąsiedztwie jest kilka interesujących miejsc do zobaczenia: jezioro i miasteczko Iznajar, Archidona, Antequera, Caminito del Rey. Jeżeli chcesz zwiedzić Granadę, Sewillę, Malagę, Cordobę, Rondę albo pojechać nad morze, to do autostrady masz ok 15 minut samochodem i do wszystkich wymienionych miejsc dotrzesz w godzinę.

Najważniejsze - czego w opisie nie ma - jest to, że właściciele domu, Roger i Elizabeth to niezwykle mili, troskliwi, dbający o gości gospodarze i wspaniali, przyjaźni ludzie. Od pierwszej chwili poczuliśmy się jak w domu a kiedy w przeddzień wyjazdu zapytałem moją dwunastoletnią córkę czy chciałaby tu wrócić za rok, odpowiedziała: chcę wrócić do Elizabeth i Rogera gdziekolwiek będą, nawet jeżeli przeniosą się do jakiegoś zimnego kraju.

Bardzo polecam to wspaniałe miejsce na spokojne wakacje i zwiedzanie Andaluzji. 6/5 gwiazdek !!!

Owner's Response: Ten piękny grupa rodzina byli bardzo pierwsza z Polski, które mieliśmy przyjemność gościć w naszych nieruchomości. Byli przyjemność spotkać i wykonane dla nas łatwe życie z dobrym nastawieniem, mając na uwadze, że byliśmy w środku fali upałów z 50 zapisywane na kilka dni. Poznaliśmy się przez większość dni i oglądane od strzałów działań, które dzień odwiedzić dobry fotograf nie oddać sprawiedliwość zatrzaskami mieliśmy przywilej widzieć. Witamy ponownie w każdej chwili

Heerlijk om hier te zijn!

Roger en Elisabeth ontvingen ons zeer hartelijk! Na ons behulpzaam te zijn geweest met onze koffers en wij het schattige " casa lemon" hadden ingenomen, werden wij onthaald op een drankje op het terras. We voelden ons snel thuis bij de verhalende Roger en Elisabeth.

De omgeving is heerlijk stil en Granada en Cordoba liggen op ongeveer een uur rijden, heel prettig om je na een trip naar het Alhambra; Granada en Cordoba terug te trekken uit de drukte van de steden.

Een aanrader dus, Roger en Elisabeth muchios gracias!!

Très bonne adresse

Très agréable séjour à Casa Lemon avec une belle vue sur les oliviers et la campagne environnante. Maison confortable, très propre et décorée avec soin. Les propriétaires, Roger et Elisabeth, sont extrêmement gentils et à l'écoute de leurs hôtes. La location est bien située au calme entre Grenade et Cordoue. A recommander sans hésiter !

We are located approx. 60 minutes from Malaga airport and 50 minutes from Granada airport.

There is a typical Andalucia bar within the village centre where the locals meet. This has a Tapas menu and sells drinks/ice cream to take away.

There is a good selection of restaurants and bars within the town of Villanueva de Algaidas approx. 15 mins away as well as banks, shops, small supermarkets, doctors, amenities etc.

The historic town of Iznajar in the other direction also has a good selection of bars, restaurants and othet amenities.

We have teamed up with an experienced birder and walker locally and can arrange birding days and guided walking in the area. We are also very close to the Andalucian section of the E4 /Gr7 walking route (which crosses europe from Athens to Tarifa)

The lake beach offers swimming, sailing,windsurfing, canoeing & pedaloes in summer months.A superb 18 hole golf course set up in the mountains by Antequera lies approx. 40 mins away.

The Sierra Nevada ski resort near Granada lies 1 and 3/4 hours away and offers great skiing for all levels.There is also a dedicated snowboarding area & snowbike & Husky dog sleigh rides.

Other activities/places to visit locally include: quad biking, horse riding, Science Park at Granada, Alhambra Moorish palace , Cordoba Mesquita/Cathedral,Seville Cathedral,Giralda tower, plaza de espana, many typical old hilltop towns with ancient Moorish castles, Antequera with it's many beautiful public buildings, churches and Casas, the stunning El Torcal protected parque natural, the rugged Sierras Subetica parque natural with it's varied flora and fauna,Wolf park, fuente de piedra lagoon with it's famous flamingos.
