|Minimum Stay||1 - 7 nights|
Affordable accomodations in a million dollar location. Cross the street to the beach, or stay at the pool just down the sidewalk. Located on the quiet western end of the Old Highway 98 Beach Road.
Caribbean Dunes is an ideal location for a peaceful and quiet family vacation. This second floor corner unit offers a great gulf and western view. King sized bed in the bedroom, Queen sleeper, and crew quarters (bunks) in the hallway.
Public Beach access is just across the street, and the pool is steps down the sidewalk. The new Destin Commons outdoor shopping Mall is three blocks away and has a theatre, Johnny Rocket's, Hard Rock Cafe, Marble Slab Creamery, Starbucks, Build-a-Bear Workshop, and many other shops.
Bonefish Grille, O'Charley's, TGIFridays, and the Outback are close by in addition to Sonic, Cracker Barrel and Olive Garden. The Silver Sands Shopping Outlets are about five minutes away and has stores too numerous to mention.
But make sure that you try the local favorites of Pompano Joes, Captain Daves, or the Crab Trap which are all located down the beach road to the east.
Camille's (formerly Tony's by the Sea) is just down the sidewalk for gourmet coffees, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Golfing opportunities are numerous with Indian Bayou, Regetta Bay, Emerald Bay and Seascape, plus a driving range and executive course, in addition to the Sandestin courses.
No Smoking, Please.
We used to stay in the Sandestin area, but we don't plan on returning--EVER--because we like it hear so well. We've stayed here three times and plan to stay again.
Don't let the fact that this isn't "right on the beach" dissuade you. I have two kids under 5, and we never had problems with them (a) with their safety crossing the street as it's a pedestrian-friendly street (b) walking by themselves as the distance to the beach is so short. We love that the condo is stocked with everything that we need and that it's an end unit (though we never heard anything from the other side). It's always clean and my kids loves the bunk beds.
This location is one of the best in Destin, as it's close to so many restaurants (our favorite is Louisiana Lagniappe) and even the outlet stores. Driving through Destin can take a while, depending on time of day and time of year, but staying in this location cuts down on time considerably. We also love to walk around the neighborhood during/after naps and look at the cute houses, and there's even a little park nearby.
Hands down this is the best value and best location.
We had a great week! Had stayed in Carribean Dunes before (not this unit) had ocean view, unit was clean fully furnished with everything we needed pool was clean, nice unit. Will stay again. Had no problem booking owner was easy to get in touch with.
We absolutely loved our stay in Destin. The condo was comfortable and immaculate with a great view of the Gulf. The people watching from the balcony was terrific. The pool and hot tub were immaculate. There was a groundsman working at the property everyday we were there. Great value!

It was a very peacful and relaxing time. The condo's location made it for an easy walk to the beach on a daily basis, coffee shop and deli on the same block, made lunch or a quick latte easy on the go or stay. Walking distance from local food establisments and a frequently visited yogurt parlor. Great walking or bike path and wonderful views. The condo had amazing natural light.
I had a great vacation in Destin staying at this condo. You can catch some of the gulf views from balcony even though the complex is across the street from the beach. The public beach access is directly across the street which makes the walk to the beach very short. Also, the condo is a corner unit which adds more privacy. The interior was comfortable and there was a great supply of kitchenware which is important if you like to cook. I spent about 3 hours researching for the best value for my vacation on VRBO and this condo was a great deal. It was easy to book the trip and I'd recommend anyone to rent this condo.
Myself, my mother, and 2 sisters decided on a last minute beach getaway to celebrate my daughters 2nd birthday (and by last minute I mean only a few days prior, extremely last minute). The owner was easy to work with and answered all of my questions. There were 6 of us total and the unit accommodated all of us well. There is only one bathroom and shower, so with 4 women and one child, the bathroom was a hot commodity, but we managed just fine. The location is great and close to Destin shopping. The balcony was large and has a great ocean view, only obstructed by some beautiful palm trees, as shown in their profile picture. The pool was never too crowded and was of decent size. Although we didn't use any of the items available, there were XBOX games, movies, puzzles, and magazines for extra entertainment. The kitchen was fully stocked except for a pizza slicer. We did not realize it until after the pizza was cooked unfortunately. I guess I would say other then the slicer, my only other complaint is that the public beach area is really small and crowded. The neighboring motels chain off their deeded beach, but there is still area to walk in front of and behind if you like to walk the beach (NOTE: the state park is in easy walking distance and there is plenty of open beach there) The fridge had a picture of an area that I assumed is deeded to Caribbean Dunes. We went to that area, but everything seemed to be chained off for the two ocean front motels that were suppose to border it. We set up camp at the area that was shown anyway and had no issues. The water is crystal clear and beautiful! On our second day there, the ocean was so calm and reminiscent of the Caribbean, with the most beautiful colored water. It was the prettiest I've seen in the area, far better than neighboring Panama City. All in all we had a blast and would visit this condo again! Thanks again! Kimberly
