Listed “4-star tourist furnished accommodation”, the villa can sleep up to 10 persons. You will discover fitted living rooms with noble materials and great decoration (Oriental carpet, oak furniture, ancient charming chairs, etc.), a large perfectly fitted kitchen opening onto the living rooms and 3 bathrooms also very well decorated.

So it is between the Lot and Dordogne Valleys, between rivers and ancient medieval towns (Sarlat, Salignac, Montignac, Rocamadour, Souillac, Martel, Cahors, Collonges-la-Rouge, Saint-Céré, etc.) and between gastronomy and vineyards, that the Marzouk family invites you.

fantastic family holiday

Arrival date actually 28/5/16 calendar won't allow that entry.......the property is to die for we had organised a family holiday with people arriving from Spain and England , this is an ideal location to meet. The owner exceeds all expectations ensuring our stay was everything we hoped for, even when the storms came he would always make sure all was ok. The house itself is well equipped both inside and out the kids loved the pool and the freedom of the location which is both safe and secure. We would highly recommend this property to anyone and need look forward to returning

A great house in a great place...

Marzouk's home is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The house is very big with plenty of rooms for a large group. It situated in a small (very small…) village close to great scenery and tourists attractions. It has a large garden, swimming pool and many comfortable places to have a barbeque, party or just to sit and enjoy reading a book. The pictures reflect perfectly the house and the surrounding.

A large part of renting an HomeAway house for a vacation is the involvement of the host. Marzouk is a perfect host. He was just delightful and interesting to talk with. He made us fell at home and took care of all our needs including fire woods, extra everything, recommendations for restaurants, travel suggestions and more. He made himself available but kept a discreet distance. He gave us the impression that he want us to have a pleasant and memorable vacation. This was the best HomeAway experience we've had. Overall, we had a delightful experience at the house. Definitely highly recommended.

Marzouk took upon himself to share with us his knowledge of the area, the history, the local ways of life etc. After a few days we have felt that we have a true friend. His English was very good (as oppose to many French people). We have met his family when he invite us to eat out with some friends. I definite feel that his involvement made our vacation a great success.

Wonderful villa in great location

We spent one week at Villa Tamaris as a group of nine (two families with young children). The villa was beautifully decorated, comfortable and well equipped. The pool was perfect, in fact the kids (and adults) enjoyed the pool so much that we didn't really move very far! Rashid, the owner, was extremely pleasant, helpful, and unobtrusive, dealing with anything we needed very quickly.

The location was fantastic - the area is beautiful, the villa very peaceful, and the local town Souillac has everything you could need. There's plenty to do and see in the area… we just need to go back for another two weeks to do it!

Overall a lovely, relaxing holiday - thank you Rashid.

Fully deserves all the 5 star reviews

I was very keen to re-visit Souillac/Sarlat area for a family holiday, and noticed that Villa Tamaris had an impressive 19 out of 19 five star reviews at the time. It was perfectly located for the area and seemed to have everything we needed, as well as lots of satisfied customers.

We arrived and it was immediately apparent that we had chosen well. The house is well looked after, the layout perfect for a family to enjoy a holiday. The swimming pool is great and the outside area is perfect for relaxing and for outside dining. The kitchen is well appointed, with all the crockery, utensils, glasses and cooking pots one could wish for, and also has toaster, microwave, small oven, coffee maker etc. There is also a washing machine and a dishwasher, all easy to work. The pool is capable of being locked from both its entrances if you have children.

The house is clean and well maintained, with plenty of linen and bedding. The house layout is good, with a separate apartment also at pool level which is a bit cooler than the main house.

Rachid is the perfect host, always ready to offer advice and assistance and to deal with any small matter where assistance is required, but otherwise is unobtrusive.

The house is quiet and perfectly situated for exploring Dordogne/Lot/Perigord, and there are many attractions nearby and things to do. The produce markets in the nearby towns are great, there are many, many great restaurants and cafes around and lots for kids to do. We particularly enjoyed visiting Rocamadour, St Cirq, Sarlat, Rouffignac, St Leon and Maison Forte de Reignat. Also the Friday market at Souillac was great, the market stall holders were friendly and welcoming.

All in all we had a fantastic holiday, and this was in large part due to this lovely house and its facilities, the great location and the wonderful welcome and assistance from Rachid.

I wholeheartedly recommend this villa and very much hope that we can return one day, as even after two weeks there were still lots of things we wanted to do!

A delightful villa with a superb swimming pool.

We spent many hours on a number of websites looking for an ideal place to stay for our first visit to the Dordogne, when we eventually came across the very classy Villa Tamaris.

What a lovely choice! As soon as we arrived Rashid and his family made us feel very welcome, helped by a chilled bottle of wine, a loaf of that delightfully crusty French bread and a selection of local cheeses for us to enjoy after our long drive from the UK.

The villa is very clean and comfortable with a superb and well equiped kithchen area, a large lounge and an indoor dining room with lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses... all of good quality.

The front garden was the perfect setting for those long shady lunches and the evening Barbecues, helped by a very comfortable gazebo with a settee and armchairs and an outdoor dining table for 8 people.

Just past the front door and down a short flight of steps there was the delightful swimming pool with its sunny terraces and tranquil setting which was much used and appreciated by the family, in particular the two Grandchildren! A perfect spot for the siesta and a few water sports on Lilos for the more energetic!

With a group of eight people, one of whom has to use a wheelchair, we couldn't have selected a more friendly and a more suitable venue.for our holiday and where we could all socialise and dine together in some degree of comfort.

The small riverside town of Souillac is just 4 kms away for the supermarket shopping and the restaurants.....not to mention the wine tasting and the sampling of the local liqueurs!

So...full marks to Rashid and his lovely family for the brilliant welcome to his lovely home, and the wonderfully peaceful week which ensued.

We hope very much to be able to return soon to the Villa Tamaris and to continue our exploration of this remarkable area.
