Guestbook comments from the owner

Arrived here being greeted by rabbits all over, so cute. We came to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. Really loved the cabin. It's so peaceful, cozy and just plain awesome. The coyotes were really howling. A big buck and doe deer were in the yard. We loved all the wildlife and enjoyed hearing elk bugling close by in Wind Cave. This is such a neat cabin and we really liked the owners as they're down to earth. Had an awesome time.

Perfect place to lay you head each night!

The cabin has all you need to relax after a long day of sightseeing! Or if your are like our family we relaxed in the mornings more enjoying family time we don't usually get in the morning. The kitchen has everything you need to make a meal if you choose to do so. The only thing that would be nice is if there were ice cube trays. We made due without. Sharon and Perry are super hosts! Even though their house is right behind the cabin you don't even realize they are there. The views of the sunrise against the colorful hills is breathtaking! Even though we have a farm we enjoyed the cows grazing right out the front door and even woke to them right on the cabin walkway. The calves were so curious and fun to watch play on the hill right next to the cabin. Having satellite tv was nice when we needed some downtime. A great local park is Chautauqua park! It occupied our 2 young boys as they caught fish in the creek and collected shells. And our teen was happy sunbathing. We all ended up in the creek chasing fish and keeping cool. It is minutes from the cabin and is beautiful. Be sure to stop and have ice cream at Gus' best in town (Hot Springs).

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and bringing ice trays to our attention. We will replace get back in freezer. It is good to hear you and your family enjoyed your visit. It was such a pleasure to meet you and getting to know more of your farm. I will have to check out Chautauqua Park -- I will recommend to others also. Thank You..

A Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

For a quick getaway, or a longer stay, this cabin and its breathtaking views can't be beat. Loved the (clean) comfort and the coziness of the cabin, and can't say enough about the beautiful canyon it sits above. Views, sunrises, sunsets, lush green fields, wild turkeys, deer, and happy cows with their young calves -- all provide fabulous entertainment. Highly recommend this slice of heaven!

Would Come Back Again!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the cabin very much ... sitting on the "porch", looking out over the meadow (especially in the evening), watching for turkeys, deer, and elk (all of which we saw) ... and the cows! Everything was as "advertised" ... would stay there again, if we are ever back in the area. Close to all the "sights" we wanted to see ... Wind Cave, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and Bear Country. Thanks!!

Great place, amazing views.

  • 4 of 5

The road to getting there was a little rough, but otherwise, it is a sweet little place. It was perfect for what we wanted. The views were amazing.

Owner's Response: We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and the cabin. We have had back to back substantial snowfalls (over foot each time) in February, with freezing and extreme cold. Then temps got warm causing melting and ruts in roads. The road took a beating, and we apologize. The roads will be repaired again in the Spring. Other than this, we have not had comments or problems with the roads. Thank you for staying with us.
