About the property

Newly Finished Cabin Bordering Forest, Quiet, Beautiful Scenery And Wildlife

Big Country Cabin was description from our 4 year old nephew, who was our first guest in 2013. He lives in the city and just loved our big open country. A later guest described the cabin as The Little House on the Prairie. Secluded, bordering Black Hills National Forest and Wind Cave National Park with quick access to Custer State Park. Newly finished Cabin. Wonderful picture window and patio area to enjoy the quiet, the scenery, wildlife, the wide open sky with an abundance of stars. Picnic table to have your meals while enjoying the outdoors.

Air conditioning and heated, internet-WiFi; 2 bedrooms with queen beds with bedding provided, additional room in living room for air mattresses, and full size couch; full bath with tub/shower and with towels furnished; full kitchen with coffee maker, toaster, griddle, cookware, dinning ware, utensils, towels.

We have additional parking area for trailers etc.

We have additional accommodations also for a larger group, and as one guest said -- with a Million Dollar View!!!. That home is on same property and has 3-queen bedrooms and one king bedroom, along with 2 full bathrooms-wheel chair accessible and laundry.

The property borders Black Hills National Forest, therefore building a FIRE is NOT ALLOWED (you may bring portable propane grill). Out of respect to other renters PETS and SMOKING are NOT ALLOWED.

4 miles North of historic beautiful Hot Springs in a beautiful quiet country setting on several acres providing privacy and quiet. Borders Black Hills National Forest Land including Lady C Ranch which borders Wind Cave National Park and surrounds property. Close and easy access to Custer State Park -- scenic Needles Highway, Sylvan Lake and several other beautiful lakes, Mount Rushmore, Evans Plunge, Mammoth Site, Angostura Lake, Badlands National Park, Buffalo Gap National Grasslands. Ideal location for hunters and quiet family getaways. Easy access. Enjoy the outdoors and wildlife in the Black Hills environment at its best. Guestbook comments from the owner

Arrived here being greeted by rabbits all over, so cute. We came to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. Really loved the cabin. It's so peaceful, cozy and just plain awesome. The coyotes were really howling. A big buck and doe deer were in the yard. We loved all the wildlife and enjoyed hearing elk bugling close by in Wind Cave. This is such a neat cabin and we really liked the owners as they're down to earth. Had an awesome time.

Perfect place to lay you head each night!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin has all you need to relax after a long day of sightseeing! Or if your are like our family we relaxed in the mornings more enjoying family time we don't usually get in the morning. The kitchen has everything you need to make a meal if you choose to do so. The only thing that would be nice is if there were ice cube trays. We made due without. Sharon and Perry are super hosts! Even though their house is right behind the cabin you don't even realize they are there. The views of the sunrise against the colorful hills is breathtaking! Even though we have a farm we enjoyed the cows grazing right out the front door and even woke to them right on the cabin walkway. The calves were so curious and fun to watch play on the hill right next to the cabin. Having satellite tv was nice when we needed some downtime. A great local park is Chautauqua park! It occupied our 2 young boys as they caught fish in the creek and collected shells. And our teen was happy sunbathing. We all ended up in the creek chasing fish and keeping cool. It is minutes from the cabin and is beautiful. Be sure to stop and have ice cream at Gus' best in town (Hot Springs).

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and bringing ice trays to our attention. We will replace get back in freezer. It is good to hear you and your family enjoyed your visit. It was such a pleasure to meet you and getting to know more of your farm. I will have to check out Chautauqua Park -- I will recommend to others also. Thank You..

Wonderful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for my husband and myself. Sharon and Perry were very accommodating and even provided us with a new grill so we could grill outside in the evenings. Great views and lots of privacy. We would definitely return.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin was probably the cleanest home we've ever rented. It was cozy for 5 people. The views were incredible. The cows roaming freely on the property were the kids favorite part!

We fell in love with this cabin!! It was perfect.

  • 5 of 5

This was the most perfect cabin. It was our families first time to this area as we are from TN and we couldn't have chosen a better location. Hot Springs is such a quaint little town and such a beautiful drive to Rushmore and the Needles Highway. The wildlife we saw in the fields, daily, was amazing. The kids, (12, 10 and 3) couldn't wait to return to the cabin each night.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful place with us!!
