Better than I even had hoped for!

I would highly recommend this beautiful little cottage to anyone who wants to explore the Southern Oregon and Northern California coastlines. My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights and used it as a home base to explore both north and south. We had an amazing time and the cottage had everything we could ever need including a one-of-a-kind view of the ocean right from the bedroom. It was simply gorgeous! The grounds were decorated so cute with birdhouses and flowers everywhere. It had a real country feel which was right up my alley. And, after spending the day hiking & exploring the many beaches and parks in the area, the hot-tub made for several relaxing evening watching the beautiful sunsets. In fact, one of our best nights was spent grilling some fresh salmon and enjoying the bottle of wine with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert, both of which were courtesy of our hostess. There is so much to do and explore in the area. We spent a full day in the Redwoods which are less than an hour away, a day on a jet boat tour up the Rogue River which we both thoroughly enjoyed, a day at Oregon Sand Dunes where we took a fast & furious roller coaster ride of a sand rail tour that was SOOOO FUN, and all the rest of the time we explored beaches, parks, coastal towns, cute little shops, and ate at every little seafood joint we could find. All in all, it was an amazing trip. Thank you to our hostess for providing the perfect setting for the perfect trip.

Sunset Cottage By The Sea

  • 5 of 5

The place was perfect for 2 people and 2 small dogs. I loved the decorations, it was clean and it had everything we needed. Basic utensils, coffee, nice seating areas inside and out, the views were spectacular!!!! The only disappointment was, not having beach access right from the property. I would highly recommend it.

Coolest little cottage ever!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this adorable little cottage by the sea. We felt so pampered with all of the wonderful little touches the owner had decorated with - every square inch was put to good use and despite it's small size we never felt at all cramped. It was like a perfect little play house to snuggle up in. The views out the huge picture window in the bedroom to the sea were unbelievable. Falling to sleep to the sound of the surf and waking up to watch birds flying above the waves was so magical. We watched the sun set into the ocean from the hot tub while sipping the chilled wine provided to us (along with cookie dough!), and the next day lounged by the cliffside in the adirondack chairs and just felt wonderful. Without question this place was our absolute favorite of our whole trip up the pacific coast. We wished we had stayed longer. Can't say enough good things about this perfect little find.

Beautifully situated cottage...

  • 5 of 5

Sunset Cottage is the perfect place to spend a restful vacation. We found the cottage spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The views were stunning and the sound of the waves lapping on the shore below was enchanting.

Beautiful views, would certainly return!

  • 4 of 5

This was a tiny cottage, cozy retreat, stunning views of coast and sunsets. Removed from towns but with easy access. Owners thought of every convenience and prepared accordingly. Nothing wanting except access to walking on the beach, the one thing that keep us from giving it full star rating.

We would return anytime the need for peace and serenity calls us.

Owner's Response: Dear Nilda, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of your stay in the Sunset Cottage. Our guests are very important to us. In fact the storms here make it unsafe to put steps into the bluff for an easy beach access. The beach access is a 1.1 mile walk or drive down a road with very little traffic. The Sunset Cottage sits on a gentle bluff above the sea and out of "big storms" way. Thank you again for your thoughtful review. We hope to see you in the future. Sincerely, Patrice Brousseau and Staff

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

One of the best get away experiences of our 36 years of marriage! Beautiful setting! Peaceful, restful and charming...adding to its charm were special touches provided by Patrice...everything from a personal note of welcome to a number of well thought out touches at the cottage that made us feel special and valued! The only negative was having to leave after spending 3 wonderful days here! Wish we had met the owners to deliver our gratitude in person!
