Ardnagashel is a magical place. A large modern house (with adjoining studio apartment) situate on its own private grounds directly on the shore of Bantry Bay with wonderful south facing views and surrounded by 20 acres of mature woodland gardens littered with exotic specimen trees and shrubs from parts of the world. The principal attraction of this property is the beautiful private pebble beach located outside the front door of the house!

Wonderful home! Fabulous View of Bantry Bay.
We could not have picked a better location or home to spend nine days with our family of twelve. From the beautifully decorated home with spacious rooms to the stunning view, you could not ask for more in a vacation house for families or groups of friends. It has a great kitchen with modern appliances. Two fridges, two dishwashers, lots of hot water, plenty of dishes, glassware and cookware. Lovely picnic tables for BBQ Outside, which we used!
Bedrooms for twelve are spacious and light. Bathrooms are great with fabulous showers to wash off the seawater. :)
The views are to die for, and just sitting in one of the many chairs on the front porch looking at the bay and hills beyond is like heaven!
Moya, the owner is completely helpful and responsive to any questions or problems. We were delighted one day with an unexpected package of goodies.
The location is perfect for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of cities, yet ten minutes from grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants. Only an hour and a half, tops, from Cork.
We drove the ring of Beara, visited nearby towns, kissed the Blarney Stone, got a couple of souvenirs, played golf, visited Bantry House (fabulous), took the ferry to beautiful Garinish Island, ate in local pubs (highly recommend O’Connors Seafood restaurant), and listened to music in Ma Murphy’s.
The weather was fabulous the entire time and rain began when we were just leaving!
The pebble beach right in front of the house and the bay are great for kids and adults. Even saw some jellyfish in the bay. Oh yes, some of us went deep sea fishing from Baltimore and caught tons of fish which we BBQed Outside after our nightly round of appetizers and libations! 😃
I would definitely recommend this stunning home and would come back again!!!
Magical house in a magical setting
We had a wonderful stay in Ardnagashel. The house is spacious and bright and beautifully positioned overlooking the ever changing sea.
The house has 6 very comfortable bedrooms - 5 in the main house and one in an adjoining apartment and plenty of bathrooms too.
Any queries or issues we had were very swiftly and efficiently dealt with. Ute and her daughter were wonderful and welcoming.
I have to say it is one of the nicest rental properties I have stayed in and there have been a few.
A reall gem
I booked Ardnagashel for a cousins' reunion - Canada, England, Scotland (12 of us) - so needed lots of bedrooms with a comfortable and large lounge space and a decent kitchen. Ardnagashel proved to be the ideal house and the setting made the reunion even more special. The privacy, the view, the comfort were all more than expected. We'd come back here without any hesitation.
Perfect spot to explore the beauty of West Cork
Over two glorious weeks in July, I enjoyed the company of a range of friends and family relaxing and soaking up the glorious view of Bantry bay at this lovely property
The house was perfect, enough room for us to all have our space with the comforts of home. We availed of the abundance of local ingredients and cooked up a storm every evening in a well equipped and pleasant kitchen.
Enjoying a coffee or a gin & tonic while looking out over the clear waters of the bay every day was both restful and uplifting .. none of us wanted to leave.
We were lucky to have had glorious weather which meant we swam every day in the beautiful bay .. chilly of course but so gorgeous we found it hard to drag both children and adults out of the water !
Stephanie, the property manager, was a joy and went to great lengths to ensure we had a wonderful stay.
I cannot recommend this property enough and am already thinking of when we might come back !
Beautiful Spacious Home
Great home with spectacular views. We had a lovely 4 night stay with plenty of space for seven adults to spread out. The fire place was a plus to get the chill out of the air. If you are a nature lover this is definitely the house for you with plenty of acreage to explore. Great outdoor seating space as well. Stephanie was so nice and helpful with our many questions about what best to see. Just a 5 minute drive in either direction to the small towns of Bantry and Glengariff. Having a grocery store close by was a plus. If you are traveling with a large family this is the house for you!
Idyllic tranquil location
This is the perfect spot for a relaxing break for a large number of guests. We had 12 in the house for 4 nights and always seemed to have loads of room without ever getting under each others feet. All bedrooms are ensuite with very comfortable beds. The living room is very peaceful, directly overlooking the bay. We had great weather so sat on the picnic bench outside quite a lot. We even had a BBQ one day, which Moya's husband very kindly put together for us (very helpful !). The kids spent quite a bit of time on the little beach, (they even went for a dip in the arctic bay !!) aswell as exploring in the woods behind the house. All in all, a great stay. so good in fact that 12 members of the same family didn't feel like killing each other after 4 days under the same roof !! :).......Bantry is a 10 min drive one way and Glengariff the same the other way so perfect location all around. This is def our new way of spending time with a large group as everyone enjoyed it so much
Ardnagashel is situate on its own private beachfront, located on the Wild Atlantic Way, halfway between the harbour town of Bantry and the tourist town of Glengarriff. This coastline is one of the most beautiful in Ireland and is ideally located between the Sheeps Head and Beara peninsulas.
