Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Montreuil area - Le Touquet 2 Bed apartment

1 Bedroom, 1 mezzanine sleeping area, 1 bathroom, and sleeps 6

A contemporary lakeside split level apartment in modern development, fully furnished and equipped and situated next to the extensive sand dunes of Le Touquet.

May Village is built around a lake within garden grounds.Only residents have access to May Village, a parking space allocated for you is right in front of the apartment. From the flat you can walk through May Villlage gardens ,a little forest with a bridge and sand dunes to a beautiful beach, it takes us around 20 minutes and it is fantastic for explorers !!. We felt in love with the walk and the stunning views when we came on holidays here for the first time almost 8 years ago ! To the town centre /market you have another 20 minutes pleasant walk , alongside a cycling path for some of the way.

Le Touquet ,also called Paris Plage, is a stylish resort with weekly market, bursting with restaurants and with many events throughout the year.It is only 30 minute drive from Calais and 2 hours from Paris which makes it ideal as a short break as well as a long stay.

Walking, cycling, yachting, sailing, golf are some of the many activities you can enjoy in Le Touquet.

Why Richard Moore chose Montreuil area

We felt in love with Le Touquet when we came on holidays here more that 8 years ago with our two young children then. On a hot summer day we were walking around the town enjoying the buzzing market and the Orquestra playing on the steps of the charming Post Office when we bumped into some friends we hadn't seen for a long time who happen to be on holidays in May Village. We joined them for a walk home before we all set off to the beach...only just 15 minutes walk from their place and after a walk through a little forest and passing a bunker we arrived to the top of the dunes -the view was breathtakingly beautiful !!!

We could not believe such a place existed just 4 hours drive from where we live in the UK. A few days later we purchased this property and we have thoroughly enjoyed it every time we have come over, we are happy other people get to enjoy our place and we love being able to give you all the information we have gathered over the years so that you can enjoy Le Touquet as much as we do!

What makes this apartment unique

We love the fact it is just 30 minutes from Calais and only 4 hours door to door.

Cycling around town is really easy, I love getting on my bike in the morning to get the croissants and bread from the "boulangerie" and to the market before it gets busy.

The town has plenty of restaurants and bistros to chose from with tables out in the street, our favourite one is "A Table" -a family run restaurant in Rue De Metz- we always come here on our first day of our holidays to celebrate " our time off has just started ".

Nice place, great family holiday..

  • 5 of 5

We took our daughters aged 6 and 9 and had a really lovely time. The stairs were no issue for them, the property was clean and had everything you could think of. We had some bad weather but the place was stocked up with games and toys to keep us entertained. The kids loved that there was hidden toys in the wardrobe. The area is perfect, lots to do. We had a really nice family holiday.

Great potential but needs updating, rather 'tired'

  • 2 of 5

This property has great potential but is in need of work to update very tired furnishings and decor. Sad really with a little tlc I could be quite positive about the apartment.

The owner was very helpful and provided good customer service.

The property is in a quiet, convenient spot to enjoy Le Touquet and all it has to offer.

The stairs are not good, but try walking down backwards, that's what we had to do, and don't try to sit up in bed not that you would want to stay in longer than necessary.

I could not recommend to a friend or relative but hey for a low budget holiday!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are happy you found our information helpful and sorry to hear that you disliked the decor. The stairs are not suitable for some people as we mention when responding to enquiries as you are right, walking down backwards can be a wise move! We have recently upgraded the bathroom and toilet and after extensive external redecoration in 2013, we are planning further internal upgrades in 2015. Thanks again for staying with us.

Great break with young children

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed the garden, beaches and outdoor life. The apartment was clean, and in the perfect location just right for the four of us, close enough to town to walk and far enough away to relax. The children loved the beaches and we loved the food and walks in the nearby dunes! We appreciated the gifts on arrival and the detailed information we received. Thank you and we hope to see you again next summer!

Lovely Little Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I, along with our two children (2 years old & 9 months) stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in June 2014 and had a lovely break. Finding May village and the apartment itself was really easy as the instructions given were clear and easy to follow.

Inside there is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. Also on the ground floor is a lovely bathroom and a separate toilet. The living area/kitchen has all the home essentials, some are a little basic but all are in perfect working order. There is a small balcony at the far end of the living area.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one containing a double bed, the other 2 singles. The stairs up to the bedroom are very steep but we were warned of this before booking and there is also a stair gate at the top of the stairs to ensure your children remain safe overnight.

The apartment was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we also had wine, butter, jam, milk and bread already in the apartment for our arrival which was a lovely touch.

The apartment is located within May village which is a lovely setting with a large lake in the middle. My other half did some carp fishing while we were there but only people staying in May village can fish the lake. We walked into town every day and this only took about 10-15 minutes and is a very pleasant walk. The town is very nice and all the locals are friendly. There are lots of restaurants, brasseries and bars, and a huge market on Saturdays & Thursdays, selling food from nearby farms, clothes, shoes and handbags – definitely not to be missed!

The beach is lovely, almost white sand and kept really clean. The beach is only about a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment too.

We took a car with us so we could get around while we were there and we had our own parking space outside the apartment and were really pleased to find that parking in town was completely free during the week - you only needed to pay at weekends!

All in all a lovely break away. The apartment had everything we needed and the whole family enjoyed ourselves. The owners provided us with plenty of information about the apartment and local area and provided us with great customer service. This apartment comes highly recommended.

Well kept apartment, ideal location

  • 4 of 5

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at this apartment and it was beautiful. We stayed here with our 2 year old and it was lovely. The apartment was well kept and some lovely touches to welcome us like fresh bread and milk waiting for us. The sand dunes were not accessible with a push chair and was hard work with daughter in back carrier but walking along the road route was more than possible taking about 10-15 minutes. Walk into town was pleasant and done in about 15-20 minutes as well. Would definitely go again and stay here but would bring our bikes with us. It only took about 45 minutes from the eurotunnel which was ideal as we didn't want a long drive with our daughter. The weather was glorious with temperatures in the mid to high twenties most days and the beach and water park are great too. Loads to do for all ages and interests would definitely recommend!! Only thing I would change is being able to do Friday to Friday and earlier access to the apartment than 5pm so we could have more access to things going on over the weekend in le touquet town.
