About Richard Moore

My wife and I live in the south of England and regularly visit this holiday home which we. We have a dedicated team of cleaners and maintenance people who look after the property in between our visits. We are happy to answer any questions you may have no matter how small and help you in everywhere to make the most of your holiday in the house.

Richard Moore purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Richard Moore chose Montreuil area

We felt in love with Le Touquet when we came on holidays here more that 8 years ago with our two young children then. On a hot summer day we were walking around the town enjoying the buzzing market and the Orquestra playing on the steps of the charming Post Office when we bumped into some friends we hadn't seen for a long time who happen to be on holidays in May Village. We joined them for a walk home before we all set off to the just 15 minutes walk from their place and after a walk through a little forest and passing a bunker we arrived to the top of the dunes -the view was breathtakingly beautiful !!!

We could not believe such a place existed just 4 hours drive from where we live in the UK. A few days later we purchased this property and we have thoroughly enjoyed it every time we have come over, we are happy other people get to enjoy our place and we love being able to give you all the information we have gathered over the years so that you can enjoy Le Touquet as much as we do!

What makes this apartment unique

We love the fact it is just 30 minutes from Calais and only 4 hours door to door.

Cycling around town is really easy, I love getting on my bike in the morning to get the croissants and bread from the "boulangerie" and to the market before it gets busy.

The town has plenty of restaurants and bistros to chose from with tables out in the street, our favourite one is "A Table" -a family run restaurant in Rue De Metz- we always come here on our first day of our holidays to celebrate " our time off has just started ".

Perfect tranquil little hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We were so impressed with this stunning little property that was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners have been honest and considerate in their description of this apartment. The neighbours in May Village were friendly too. We loved the location being a gentle 20 minute walk to the town and the beach. We parked the car in the private, secure setting at the start of our holiday and spent the rest of the time on foot and hired bikes to go exploring and taking in the breathtaking scenery and smell of the pines that surrounded us. Bike hire is available in plenty of places in town. Each morning we would walk into town, just a 20 minute pleasant walk to the buy fresh bread and pastries for breakfast. The beach is clean and stunning with white sand and the dunes are a delight to ramble over. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the town in the evenings and the smells of the restaurants to tempt you in. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends and would love to return again.

Nice place, great family holiday..

  • 5 of 5

We took our daughters aged 6 and 9 and had a really lovely time. The stairs were no issue for them, the property was clean and had everything you could think of. We had some bad weather but the place was stocked up with games and toys to keep us entertained. The kids loved that there was hidden toys in the wardrobe. The area is perfect, lots to do. We had a really nice family holiday.

Great potential but needs updating, rather 'tired'

  • 2 of 5

This property has great potential but is in need of work to update very tired furnishings and decor. Sad really with a little tlc I could be quite positive about the apartment.

The owner was very helpful and provided good customer service.

The property is in a quiet, convenient spot to enjoy Le Touquet and all it has to offer.

The stairs are not good, but try walking down backwards, that's what we had to do, and don't try to sit up in bed not that you would want to stay in longer than necessary.

I could not recommend to a friend or relative but hey for a low budget holiday!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are happy you found our information helpful and sorry to hear that you disliked the decor. The stairs are not suitable for some people as we mention when responding to enquiries as you are right, walking down backwards can be a wise move! We have recently upgraded the bathroom and toilet and after extensive external redecoration in 2013, we are planning further internal upgrades in 2015. Thanks again for staying with us.

Great break with young children

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed the garden, beaches and outdoor life. The apartment was clean, and in the perfect location just right for the four of us, close enough to town to walk and far enough away to relax. The children loved the beaches and we loved the food and walks in the nearby dunes! We appreciated the gifts on arrival and the detailed information we received. Thank you and we hope to see you again next summer!

Lovely Little Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I, along with our two children (2 years old & 9 months) stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in June 2014 and had a lovely break. Finding May village and the apartment itself was really easy as the instructions given were clear and easy to follow.

Inside there is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. Also on the ground floor is a lovely bathroom and a separate toilet. The living area/kitchen has all the home essentials, some are a little basic but all are in perfect working order. There is a small balcony at the far end of the living area.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one containing a double bed, the other 2 singles. The stairs up to the bedroom are very steep but we were warned of this before booking and there is also a stair gate at the top of the stairs to ensure your children remain safe overnight.

The apartment was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we also had wine, butter, jam, milk and bread already in the apartment for our arrival which was a lovely touch.

The apartment is located within May village which is a lovely setting with a large lake in the middle. My other half did some carp fishing while we were there but only people staying in May village can fish the lake. We walked into town every day and this only took about 10-15 minutes and is a very pleasant walk. The town is very nice and all the locals are friendly. There are lots of restaurants, brasseries and bars, and a huge market on Saturdays & Thursdays, selling food from nearby farms, clothes, shoes and handbags – definitely not to be missed!

The beach is lovely, almost white sand and kept really clean. The beach is only about a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment too.

We took a car with us so we could get around while we were there and we had our own parking space outside the apartment and were really pleased to find that parking in town was completely free during the week - you only needed to pay at weekends!

All in all a lovely break away. The apartment had everything we needed and the whole family enjoyed ourselves. The owners provided us with plenty of information about the apartment and local area and provided us with great customer service. This apartment comes highly recommended.
