In 2013 the Hudson Milliner Guesthouse & Inn opened as a refuge for urbanites in search of refined comfort in classical surroundings. Great for urbanites in need of sun, space, luxury, antiques, fine dining, nature walks & culture: located on the main drag of Warren Street, it's a 10 minute walk from the train station. Once a milliner's hat shop built in 1860, you are transported straight into another time the moment you enter. Many original details are still in place: pre-tin plaster moldings, solid mahogany stairwells, pocket doors with etched glass inlay, large mahogany framed windows and gorgeous hardwood floors. The kitchen and bathrooms have been carefully renovated to fit in style with carefully selected and restored fixtures, such as an electric stove from the forties and a refrigerator from that period as well. Add central air, high speed internet and a washer/dryer on premise: the perfect getaway.
As busy New Yorkers we understand the need for R & R. We liked the idea of a B&B, but had something a bit more intimate in mind: a romantic place, going back in time, where our guests could come into town, immediately immerse into the surroundings and also if need be withdraw and cook for themselves in a spacious retro kitchen. In another words: a romantic spacious getaway with the beauty of clean air and a country vibe along with the luxury of great restaurants, live entertainment and quality antiquing/shopping
Right in the heart of the action. Super clean, spacious and comfortable. Charlotta was of great help and made us many good suggestions of activities. We would rent it again happily!
Our family took over the Milliner and enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect. The beds are very comfortable. We liked the Tanzy for breakfast. We were in town for a wedding at the Hill. Guests stayed in various places around Hudson. Everyone agreed that the Milliner was the best place to stay!
Loved the space and the art.
It was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The location was excellent and convenient.
The oven runs very hot, so be careful: it is extremely easy to burn what's baking.
I would definitely stay here again.
Amazing stay. Just as good as described in the listing and by the posts below. Charlotta was incredibly warm and helpful. Strongly recommend for anyone looking to get out of the city for a weekend.
We had a wonderful stay at the Hudson Milliner. The location was perfect, on the the main street of Historic Hudson with great shopping, cafes, and restaurants all around. I definitely recommend Swoon for a meal. The Milliner is also walking distance from the Amtrak station, so we didn't need a car.
The suite itself was beautifully decorated and very comfortable (and clean). We utilized the kitchen to cook both breakfast and dinner during our stay.
Finally, Charlotta was helpful and attentive. She provided a great list of recommendations for restaurants and activities during our stay.
Hudson is a gorgeous little town, full of antiques beyond compare, a plethora of restaurants, live entertainment, surrounded by lush country farms, nature resorts, right next to skiing resorts in the Catskills. Notable is Olana, estate of Frederick Church, who's views have been memorialized in his work and protected the region as well as the Thomas Kohl House in Catskill.
