Thank you Juan Antonio,
we had a wonderful stay at your lovely place. Everything was as nice as we expected, and especially the kids loved your animals. Just to make the arrival easier, you could probably give a precise descripton of the way to your place and point out your phone number once more when contacting your guests.
Hope to see you again some day, hasta luego!
Yours, Holger and Family
We, a family of four with two boys (11 and 8), stayed in Casa de Maria this summer for two weeks.
Casa de Maria is a cosy house, thoughtfully equipped with everything a family needs. Juan Antonio designed the interior very artfully, with handpicked decorative items, nice furniture and the highlight being the sculptured bed side tables reminding of Gaudi’s architecture.
We loved to take our meals on the terrace in front of the house which is surrounded by beautiful flowering vines offering privacy and shade during the heat of the day.
Only a few minutes walking distance away from El Palmar beach (water and beach, both very clean), Casa de Maria is located in a private estate amidst a garden with lush greenery and a little pond – giving the whole property the touch of an oasis.
The garden offers space and privacy to chill in comfortable hammocks and a brick BBQ with a seating corner can be used to have romantic meals in the garden.
The absolute highlight for our kids were definitely the lovely animals. Juan Antonio has three dogs that are all very friendly, a number of cute cats and some chicken from which you can get really fresh eggs.
Juan Antonio is a wonderful host. He is always approachable and happy to help with any question you may have, including translating when local farmers or fishermen come to offer their products at the gate (we had delicious fruits and fresh fish from them).
We will definitely be back.
Hasta pronto Juan Antonio,
Konstantin, Vincent, Alex y Kat
We (age 37/38 no kids) had the joy to spend 10 marvellous days in El Palmar at Casa de Maria.
The location is an overwhelmingly warm and inspiring spot for anyone who seeks repose and peace and who enjoys animals, arts and the beauty of nature.
Casa de Maria is part of an ensemble of all in all three houses, all located on one closed property. Surrounded by all sorts of high exotic foliage plants the property is protected from prying eyes making you feel like you live on a secret island. Even though the houses are next to each other, the artful garden architecture gives you sufficient privacy and space for your own.
Casa de Maria is a real „home“: well kept, very clean and beautifully decorated. If you are not out for a day at the beach, which is five walking minutes away, you can hang out on one of your two small terraces or relax in the estate garden that provides huge hammocks, a BBQ grill, a little creek with water fountain or diverse benches and tables. During your stay you will definitely make friends with the family of dogs, cats, and from time to time free-range hens, which will be happy to finish all of your leftover food. You’ll fall asleep to the chirping of crickets and the roaring waves (and in summer inevitably the sound of the beach bars close by) and be woken up by the first cock’s crow (yes, that can be early sometime ;-).
The host is a highly friendly and decent man who also lives on the property. Despite his presence you will never disturbed in your privacy. We were received with warmest hospitality and could address him with any question or concern.
We can definitely recommend this place!
A refaire...
Our family (with a toddler and a baby) had a wonderful time at Casa Maria. The place is very special indeed and we were made to feel so very welcome. The tranquility is lovely. The best things are the pleasing surroundings with lovely flowers and a well kept garden that is nothing short of a little phantasy, the personal touch noticeable everywhere and the location close to a beautiful sandy beach as well as the restaurants along the Paseo Maritimo. Despite being so close to beach and amenities it is very secluded and private here. Juan Antonio and his mother were such graceful and welcoming hosts. He made sure everything was perfect for us. It was especially nice that our three year old could happily toddle about the shaded garden and feed the hens or play with the cats and dogs whilst our baby napped during the day. Plenty to explore and do around the house. Do bring earplugs because the rooster is a noisy fellow. Finally, as a back pain sufferer of many years, I was pleased to find that the beds have good mattresses and pillows. We have had a lovely time and look forwarding to returning.
We stayed at Casa de Maria for one week. We enjoyed the beautiful garden and the cordially and homly atosmphere. Our kids fell in love with the nice dogs and cats. So it was a very relaxed stay for us.
