About Si

As a U.S. Foreign Service family often working overseas, we love to return to the lake in New Hampshire as often as possible.

Si purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Si chose Monadnock Region

After renting summer homes in southern New Hampshire for years, we finaly bought our own and turned it into the place we would want to rent. We hope you'll find living on the lake as relaxing as we do.

What makes this cottage unique

The 180 degree view of hills and trees across the lake from our front deck and nearly all the rooms makes doing a lot, or nothing, equally worthwhile.

Delightful!

  • 4 of 5

This property is lovely, clean, and nicely laid out, with lake views from the living room, kitchen, dining room, and upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is updated and enjoyable to cook in. The canoe and kayaks are a definite plus. The only drawback, for those who are addicted to the internet, is that the wi fi connection is not good. But then, on a lake vacation, who cares?

Comfortable lakeside home with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

From the serene combination dining room/library with a gorgeous lake-view to the modern well-appointed and equipped kitchen to the cozy, comfortable beds to the quiet, private beach with great swimming, sunning, this was, for me, the 'whole package'. We will be back.

Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

Very much enjoyed our week at this pretty property. The cottage cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and also nicely decorated, updated and plenty big for 5 adults. Highland Lake was great! Mostly quiet on our end with occasional boaters. We did most of our shopping in Keane, as we were visiting people in the area. Highly recommend this cute town! Owner Simon was excellent and very prompt replying to my inquiries. Even made a trip into Burlington to pick up some Headdy Topper! Well worth the trip!

Fabulous!!

  • 5 of 5

We fell in love with the whole package!! The house was very nice and was equipped with all the necessary things and more. The lake was very peaceful and scenic. The water temperature is perfect for swimming. The view from the house across the lake is wooded without houses - you could almost convince yourself that the lake was yours only!! We did our shopping, in Hillsboro, at Shaws Market which was expensive. However, the market was large and the selection was quite nice. There's a country store closer to the house that has s small deli and a few items so do all your shopping at once because you won't want to leave - we didn't !!

Beautiful, accessible and kid friendly fun!

  • 5 of 5

I have rented many homes for vacations with my family and this one really stood out! It is decorated in a beautiful, bohemian, summer home way that was classy and yet very comfortable. The lake is gorgeous and we heard (and saw) loons several night! The beach was shallow and sandy which was perfect for our children. The kayaks were also great and set up in a way that made it easy for us to take them out several times a day.

We cooked great meals in the well equipped kitchen, swam, hiked, watched movies and even found time for a jigsaw puzzle 😀!

Would highly recommend this rental and would be thrilled to return!

Thanks for sharing your home!

A beautiful and serene setting.

  • 5 of 5

The location, amenities and setting met all expectations. The library was an added bonus. The lake itself is not very deep and a bit weedy but the water was clean and refreshing.
