Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!
David Cooper purchased this townhome in 2012
Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!
No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!
My family (2 kids + 2 adults) found this property to be clean, modern and comfortable for our 3-day visit to Washington, DC. The location is great - only a short walk to the Capitol, Supreme Court, many restaurant options and the wonderful Eastern Market. The metro is also near by. When we arrived several of the lights were burned out and the one of the lamps was broken but David had new light bulbs put in for us during our stay. The kitchen is nice and equipped with the basics. It was missing a few things and doesn't have the supplies you'd want to make a gourmet meal but you shouldn't need that with all the restaurants and Eastern Market near by. Bathrooms are nicely supplied but only have showers, which worked out OK but if my kids were younger I would have needed a bathtub to bath them. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is a great benefit, especially when traveling with kids, and the ones at this property are much better than similar ones I've used in other locations. Overall, this is a great property in a super location with a conscientious owner/manager. We look forward to coming back!
The condo had everything we needed for traveling with a family of four. All attractions we wanted to see were within walking distance or an inexpensive Uber ride. It was great not needing to worry about laundry etc during departure. Thanks for your hospitality!
Great property with terrific location only 3 blocks from the Capitol. Many great restaurants in the neighborhood within a short walking distance. Our unit was even better than the pictures describe. Very comfortable and quiet. When visiting D.C. , this is the place to stay!
We stayed five nights in this immaculate flat (October 2016). It was such a perfect place for our first visit to Washington DC. The flat was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. And, the location is perfect! We were within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the sites we came to see! We could walk to the Capital, the Mall, even the White House (which is a bit further away, but there are lovely places to stop and a drink in the views). Thank you for being part of a most memorable trip to our nation's capitol!
What a great place and location. We had a wonderful time and loved the location.
Great restaurants close by and lovely accommodations.
Close to all the monuments, museums and capital building. You really feel integrated into the neighborhood while staying there. Definitely recommend.
