After a 1-year top-to-bottom renovation completed in July 2014, the Seward Square Rowhouse offers everything on your list of must-haves: historic charm, modern comfort & amenities, and most of all an extremely convenient location. Only 3 blocks from the US Capitol and the east side of the National Mall, Seward Square provides the ideal launching pad to see Washington DC!

One of four units in the Seward Square Rowhouse, Unit 2 is located on the second level and comfortably sleeps 6 adults with 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Professionally furnished by interior designers, the unit features a fully equipped kitchen with custom cabinets, carrera marble countertops and top of the line KitchenAid stainless steel appliances, and spa-like bathrooms that showcase glass showers and custom tile work. A washer & dryer and 60' LED HDTV with cable and high-speed wireless internet complete the interior living space, while a large deck off the master suite provides a much coveted outdoor living space and more room for entertaining.

Located in the center of historic Capitol Hill, the Seward Square Rowhouse is within walking distance of everything you need and want to see. Nestled within a cozy neighborhood and yet only 3 blocks from the Capitol, 2 blocks from Eastern Market and metro, and 1 block from a multitude of restaurants, bars, coffee-houses and shopping along Pennsylvania Avenue, everything DC has to offer will be at your doorstep!

PARKING: On-street parking requires a zoned parking permit, which is provided free of charge for guests to park one vehicle during their stay. Parking for additional vehicles is available less than 2 blocks away at a 24-hour access surface lot for $15 per day.

Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!

What makes this townhome unique

No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!

Wonderful location!

We shared the rowhouse with my brother and his wife who arrived from London. We had plenty of space and enjoyed our stay. We were in an excellent location to rendezvous with family in Annandale and Silver Spring and able to walk to restaurants, Capitol Hill sites, and roam the Eastern Market...great place on the weekend days.

Being English we of course had to navigate a way to make tea in the afternoons...sadly no tea kettle or teapot.

We usually found a place to park our car nearby but sometimes a bit of a walk —otherwise really lovely.

An awsome vacation rental. Would stay there again

Our family traveled to D.C. for the first time this past August. We not only enjoyed the sites of Washington D.C., but at the end of the day we would come back to our Rowhouse at Seward Square and could completely relax. It was just as David disclosed. It was clean, comfortable and relaxing. It was close to the metro system, so we didn't have to walk far. It was a safe neighborhood, we didn't feel like we had to be back before dark. We also where able to find parking on the street for our rental car. I would highly recommend this rental and would stay there again if I came back to Washington, D.C.

Want to stay here again!

All as described and just like photos. We are mid 60s and took 19 grandson to see DC. Loved the neighborhood. Tune Inn was our favorite restaurant/bar. Bus stop same block, Metro rail 4 blocks. Take your loose coffee for the brewer or go to Starbucks 2 blocks away. Stairs with handrail to upper units. Parking pass included so we just parked the car and used public transportation. 5 star stay!

This unit was in an excellent location for walking or accessing the Metro. Very nearby a favorite DC place of mine, the Tune Inn Bar. The Eastern Market provided for everything necessary for dining in and lots of options around for dining out as well. Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. This was a great VRBO Experience. Highly recommend and I will likely use the unit again.

Fantastic Property - Excellent Location!

This was the perfect home base for a wonderful 5 day vacation exploring the Nation's Capital. We were able to easily walk to the Capitol and down the Mall from the unit and it is very convenient to the Metro. We found it to be a perfect location in a beautiful neighborhood with excellent restaurants practically across the street.

The unit was exactly what we expected from the photos. We are a family of 3 and enjoyed the ability to have our own private spaces and then come together in the comfortable living area. The unit was clean and well maintained with ample space (pull hard to open the closet doors - at first we thought they were locked). This was our first experience renting rather than staying in a hotel. I recommend referring to the VBRO app thoroughly; the owner was very quick and gracious in responding to my questions, but I found later those same questions could more easily have been answered if only I had looked in the Hospitality Tab of the app.

The only, very minor negative feedback I can share is that while the unit has wifi, it is not strong enough to reach to the master bdrm for streaming music or watching Netflix; in every other room the wifi seemed to have plenty of bandwidth.

I highly recommend this property! And hope to stay there again on our next trip to DC.

Great location and impeccable property

Loved our stay on Capitol Hill. This location was so close to restaurants (Sushi Capitol and Tune Inn Dive bar are literally across the street on Pennsylvania Avenue), Eastern Market is five minutes away with more awesome restaurants (Garrison was great! Ambar), the Hill was a ten minute walk, and parking was easy to find all four days we were there.

The unit was in great shape with high end finishings and amenities.

We were celebrating a graduation from GW so it was nice to have a place where we could have a few friends over and do a cocktail reception. Patio space was great. Would highly recommend and will come back for sure.
