About David Cooper

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!

Why David Cooper chose Washington DC

Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!

What makes this townhome unique

No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!

This is the ideal place to stay in Washington.

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful old rowhouse has been meticulously restored and updated. It is a unique way to experience the historic Capitol Hill area, and I highly recommend it. It is only minutes on foot from the Capitol and Eastern Market Metro and buses which makes it easy to get to all the attractions. There are numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and a couple of grocery stores within a couple of blocks. The bathrooms and kitchen are totally modern and very nice. The owner has thoughtfully provided a fascinating history of the house - don't miss it! You will not be disappointed with this property.

Awesome property!

Very nice row house in a fantastic location! This home helped make our stay with our two children so comfortable and enjoyable! It's within a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, etc., and a longer walk to the national mall, museums, etc. Property was clean, well maintained and just as pictured. Excellent communication from the owner. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

A great place to stay in Washington D.C.

  • 4 of 5

The Rowhouse at Seward Square where we stayed for a week turned out to be perfect for us and our friends while we spent a week in Washington D.C. Each couple had our own room and bathroom with a shared living area and kitchen. The big screen t.v. was perfect to watch at the end of a very busy day. There were a couple of things we needed from David Cooper, the owner, and he had his housekeeper furnish them promptly. The keyless entry was also perfect with no need to carry keys or decide who would keep them. The location was great with several restaurants within a couple of blocks and a small market nearby for basic food items to take back to our place. There were also 2 metro stations within a few blocks as well as the Circulator for transportation. We would highly recommend this place to stay and would stay there again if the situation arises.

First class accommodation in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Being four elderly folk from the UK who were on an adventure of a lifetime trip to the USA to visit Washington, New York and Boston was quite a daunting thought. We need not have worried, we found all the people we met in the States so friendly, helpful and engaging. However you can imagine that we were wondering if the accommodation our daughter had arranged would live up to the pictures posted on the internet. We need not have worried. We fell in love with the house as soon as we saw it. The entry to the house and the apartment was simple using the keypad, and it was very convenient not having to worry about keys. The accommodation was first class. A very spacious comfortable lounge/dining area with a large bay window with a lovely view. A very modern well equipped kitchen easily which met all our needs. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very modern and comfortable and a good night's sleep was had by all. We need not have been concerned at all with our Washington accommodation, we were overjoyed. Staying on Capitol Hill is great for restaurants and shops and within easy walking distance to the Library of Congress and the Capitol Building. There is an excellent bus service into the centre of the City to access the many museums and interesting attractions. All the bus drivers we encountered were most helpful and friendly. Every one of us would thoroughly recommend the accomodation both for location and comfort.
