About Ginger

We grew up in Cincinnati and love the city. We visit often, and love sharing this little house with others. I taught elementary school and Montessori pre-school, and Jim managed corporate real estate for Jones Lang LaSalle. We have two grown children in San Francisco. Check out our kids' creative business at leafcutterdesigns dot com. We split our time between Berkeley, Driggs ID, Cincinnati, and Uruguay.

Ginger purchased this house in 2014

Why Ginger chose Cincinnati

It was just too cute for our frequent visits to the Queen City - and the location is wonderful. We are one block from the historic gas street lights of Hyde Park, and on the corner is the first of many restaurants and shops. Fun to walk to so many places.

What makes this house unique

Everything new, everything on one floor, cute back yard with tall trees for relaxing, great location, easy parking out front. Full kitchen and full laundry makes for an easy visit.

Nice Little Home, Great Location!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our mini vacation (February 2017) visiting breweries and brew pubs in Cincinnati. Two favorites were MadTree (great pizza) and 50 West (great imperial stout). I don't think we traveled more than 7 miles, going point to point. The house location was perfect. It is so much nicer and more relaxing staying in a VRBO vs. a hotel. The kitchen was pretty and had everything we needed. The bathroom was small but also pretty and with everything we needed. We did not take advantage of the yard although 2 days were in the 70's, followed by one day in the 40's. It was a nice little space. It was great having a designated parking space. Ginger allowed us to check-in a few hours early and it was much appreciated. We have more to see in Cincinnati and would definitely stay here again!

Great Home ... Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd time staying here. This time we checked out the farmers market on the weekend. It is definitely worth the trip and close enough to walk there and experience all of the local farm fresh treats

Amazing location and Adorable House

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay over a wknd. We were in town for a high school reunion. Perfect location. We walked to Hyde Park Square for coffee and LOVED the great little meat market at the end of the block. Perfect to grab a few things for lunch. We will definitely book this house again.

Great location, great space

  • 4 of 5

We found the location to be very convenient to shops, restaurants, etc. It was also a clean, well designed space.

There was a slight odor when we first arrived, but we were able to air out the home. Ginger was made aware and was very concerned about making it right.

Owner's Response: I think the odor was from using the self cleaning function on the oven before you arrived. So sorry, and glad it went away quickly. We do not allow smoking or pets, and we use eco friendly cleaning products, so there should not be any unusual odors at all.

Nice place

  • 4 of 5

The place is cute, and well laid out. For 3 adults and 2 children, it was the right amount of space. The house is well located and you could walk to local restaurants and stores if desired. The bedrooms are good size and one actually has a sink in it. At first we thought this was strange but it was really nice when we were all trying to get ready. Ginger responded quickly to an issue when we first arrived, which was appreciated. There were instructions inside the house which was nice, but it made us fear anything we did we would get charged for. Overall, it was a nice experience, and cozy accommodations. Knowing the extent of the rules and requirements I would still try to book this place again if we visited.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed the house! Yes, the second sink can come in handy as the bathroom is very small. We like our guests to know exactly why we might keep a deposit: spilled wine, chairs left outside in the rain, etc. - we do not keep deposits for normal wear and tear and use of the property. If guests treat our home like their own, there is never a problem. We want all guests to have a good time! We don't charge much for cleaning, so do ask guests to strip the beds and clean up. Better to have specific instructions - that way everyone gets their deposit back! This is a home, not a hotel room. Thanks for your comments, and come back!
