Emily house description
Relax, unwind, get away, play, sun, swim, boat, explore, hunt, snowmobile, reunite, or just sleep in among 60 foot 150 year old whispering pines. This home built in 2006 is clean and spacious. Watch eagles, fish off the dock, sit on the deck or around a crackling campfire, with the moon and the stars overhead. 1200 acres of water await your splash. We provide a 2400lb. boat lift. Some of the nicest northern black crappies are found here. Take a walk in the forest. Trails for biking, walking, snowmobiling, abound. Restaurants like the Bungalow are accessible by boat. The Village Inn, The Narrows, and Granny's, are nearby with great food. The antique capital of the world is just a short drive into Crosby. Cross Lake is just 12 beautiful minutes away with gift shops, window shopping and touristy things to do. Nisswa is the tourist shopping king of the area.
Snowmobiling is king in the winter, with the heart of the northern trails beginning in Emily and right out our back door.
ATV trails also provide outstanding riding, more are in development every year.
The three levels of the house give you great separation, privacy, and multiple things to do. There are two gas fireplaces to cozy up to. A pool table, electronic darts, ping pong in the garage, and entertainment center in the walk out basement. There are 2 King size bedrooms with TV and cable, 2 Queen size bedrooms, one with a twin extra bed. A loft with 2 Queen beds, a Queen pull out sofa, fulfill the sleeping requirements for at least 13 people. 4 bathrooms 3 with bathing, and a master suite laundry and a lower level laundry, give you more than the comforts of home.
A fire pit with seating, and a pontoon for rent pretty much keeps you outside where the true north touches the soul.
Pack light. Come and here the wind whisper through the pines, the gentle waves against the shore and a step back into time where things are much simpler and back to nature. The people of the Emily area are the nicest friendliest people bar none.

The new owners of this beautiful lake home are Gene and Cindy Gottwalt. We reside in Royalton, MN and have six children, all of them are married. We have 24 grandchildren. Owning a lake home has been something we have always hoped to be able to accomplish. When our children were young, we were farming and envied other families who would head for the lake or even go camping. We will keep our home kid friendly with added games, movies ,toys etc. (any suggestions). It is our intention to keep up the excellence of the past renters and their experience with this vacation paradise.
Cindy Gottwalt purchased this house in 2014
We really enjoyed our 4 day stay over Christmas. The cabin is laid out very well with plenty of space for our group of 11. There are 4 bedrooms and a loft with 2 queen beds and a bunk bed. The kitchen has about everything you need including a popcorn machine and a Keurig. We would definitely recommend this property.
This was our second year of having our family Christmas here. Everything was great. Plenty of room for everyone. Will definitely be back as well as recommend it to family and friends. Thanks again for another great weekend.
This was our first stay at this property. The pictures don't do it justice. It's gorgeous! Set among the pines. We were there during the down season it was quiet and snow covered lake was so pretty. The house is so well equipped we came with way too much stuff because it was already there! We did some cookie baking and just relaxed and ate and had some good times. We will definitely be back!!
Had a lovely girls' weekend. Home was spacious and clean with everything we needed and then some! Comfortable beds, and great space to gather. Highly recommended!
We were there for a girls weekend and there was enough space to find a corner to read or to sit and visit as a group. We really enjoyed the cabin.
The property was accurate as it was portrayed in pictures. It was clean and ready for us. The kitchen was well supplied - we added a couple of minor things like a cutting board and a juicer. The lake was a highlight for swimming and the fishing was good enough for a Friday night fish fry. When a major storm came through without warning in the middle of the night, family members of the owners were there first thing in the morning to assess damage, clean up downed trees and brush and make things quickly usable for us. My one suggestion might be that it would be helpful to have the owner or a representative come by the first day to talk through operation of pontoon boat, hot tub, etc. Having the large double garage available for storage was very helpful as were washers and dryers. We hope to come again next year.
