Why Tim Vincent, Owner chose Coastal Oregon

Well, actually the property was purchased by Tim's grandparents in 1955, has been in the family ever since. When the family was contemplating selling the farm in 2000, Tim and Teresa purchased it from the other family members and moved back to Oregon from Arizona.

The property itself was originally owned by one of the founders of Philomath, and the original barn and home are both still used today.

Peaceful, Comfortable and Very Roomy, Serene Views, Yet Close to Town

  • 5 of 5

What a truly wonderful place to stay! The guest house is very roomy, especially with just 3 of us. Lots of floor space and closet space to spread out. The king bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I can be picky about them. Many personal touches and amenities that made us feel like we were in a home, not a rental. Great wifi and a large tv. The outside patio areas are an extension of the guest house, comfy and homey too. There are chairs, tables and a fire pit. Lots of cozy lighting. Covered parking. We loved walking down to talk to the alpacas too. But mostly, we enjoyed our host. Like others have commented, he is easy and interesting to talk with and puts everyone to ease at once. We hope to return soon.

Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

This guest house was the perfect place to stay for our family - my wife and I, and our 10-month-old daughter. The main room itself was bigger than we expected, the bed and furniture were very comfortable, and it is built into the side of a hill, so it stayed a very comfortable temperature throughout the day and night. Our daughter slept soundly in the crib. The only slight issue was that the crib is right next to the bathroom, and you have to walk right by it to get to the bathroom. It was not a big deal because we never woke her up, but we were also very careful to be quiet when we had to use the restroom at night.

The grounds around the house are amazing. They have blueberry bushes, apple, pear and cherry trees, and obviously, the alpaca herd. Our daughter just loved watching the alpacas through the fence, and she still reacts excitedly when she sees photos of them. There is a great outdoor sitting area that the owners graciously shared with us. We sat out there most nights for a few hours after putting our daughter to bed.

Across the street and easily walkable is the Gathering Together Farm. They have amazingly fresh produce, free range eggs, and meat from nearby farms. We cooked breakfast at the house most mornings, and had some daytime meals there as well. We also fed our daughter some of the vegetables we got from the farm. The farm was definitely a highlight of the trip.

Finally, the owners could not have been better to us. We arrived on July 4, while they had friends and family over for a barbecue. They welcomed us into the group right away and were so kind the entire time we were there. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Oregon.

JAW DROPPING AND RELAXING

  • 5 of 5

From the time the gate opened, the drive up and the warm welcome, we knew we made the right choice. This stay was everything that was described in VRBO and more, including the full kitchen, grill, washer and dryer. The wonderful local French pressed coffee, beautiful View, extremely clean wonderful accommodations, and easy access to Corvallis made our trip so relaxing. We were the envy of all our friends staying in Corvallis. Will absolutely go back, already planning next year's stay. PB&J

Comfortable home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse in Corvallis. Tim and Teresa really made us feel at home.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about staying in one large room, but the layout was so well thought out and the furnishings were very comfortable.

Our two little Yorkies loved the house and we're especially fond of Teresa. I would definitely recommend this property to couples who want a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Tim and Teresa make you feel right at home.
