'La Casa Blanca', beautifully remodeled all white house, with a mediterraneen flair in the middle of untouched 5 acres of desert landscape, is situated in the Mesa, 6 minutes from Joshua Tree village, 15 minutes from JT National Park west gate entrance, 3 minutes from the Mentalphysics Center, very close to main shopping places in Yucca Valley.
The interior design is quite special and eclectic, and the atmosphere of the house is very bright, fresh and airy.. The spacious living room has 180o of desert and mountains views, a beautiful fireplace, comfortable coach and a white baby gran piano!
The comfortable kitchen with its 50's original cabinets has everything you need to do gourmet cooking, dishwasher, cookware and at your disposal an unique shelf with multiple spices.
I cannot say enough abouto this darling home in Joshua. Conveniently located to everything, clean, and well equipped. A quiet neighborhood with a fantastic view of the valley. The stars at night are beyond incredible and the host was more than welcoming. I plan on returning. :)
We had a peaceful stay at Nicole's charming desert house. She has thoughtfully equipped it with everything needed to feel comfortably at home. The location relative to the park and amenities was very convenient and Nicole had fun suggestions of nearby sights for us to add to our itinerary. it was more private than we had imagined and that was appreciated by our son who felt at ease playing her piano and singing in the morning. Being able to return each day to her lovely home made the biggest difference in the comfort of our adventures.
Nicole was an amazing host, and Casa Blanca is such a beautiful, serene property.
We planned to meet Nicole upon check-in, however, we arrived much later than anticipated and missed her. Unbeknownst to us, she lit a fire in the wood burning oven. It was so nice to be greeted with a warm, cozy fire after an exhausting drive. It set the tone for the rest of the weekend.
We hope to make it to the desert again this fall and will definitely stay here!
I am a writer with a new project who needed time and quiet in a welcoming setting. I just went with this place on instinct (and reviews) and was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a very productive and inspiring creative space. It's a great, flowing plan, small house whose pleasingly minimal but exotic Moroccan-inspired interior would never be detected from its rather conventional exterior. There are houses nearby, you're not completely isolated, though you are off the beaten path in a network of manageable dirt roads. Many giant jack rabbits lumber by all day (or maybe it's just one repeat visitor). The first one you see may catch you off guard.
The wood fire in winter is essential and mesmerizing (and great for procrastinating!).The hot tub at night under a canopy of stars is spectacular. The piano is a great touch (needs some tuning)... The kitchen is well arranged and stocked with all the hardware you might need. The bed is low and slightly on the hard side, which I like. Again, my needs were minimal, but everything worked and satisfied. My only tiny quip was that there weren't any comfortable chairs for writing. I let Nicole know this (she was away) and soon enough her partner, Paul, called to say he could bring over a better chair. I declined, I was managing alright, but it was a really nice gesture and I'm glad they're going to remedy that for future visits. They are both very kind people; very accommodating and great with communication. I'm not sure why I would go here other than to get away and focus on something creative, but I'm sure a small family exploring the desert (and who is fine without cable) would be very happy here. I'll be back...
I was a little concerned that I was going to feel uncomfortable in an all white house. I know it sounds silly, but hey, I'm an artist. I was happy to realize the second I walked in, that there is indeed a very artistic feel to this home. Enough color in the decor to make it feel clean and cozy. The beds and beddings were very comfortable. The ambiance really created a "get away" feel. Plus there's a piano, which was nice to have because the power went out due to storm. Between the piano and the copious amount of candles provided, we were quite comfortable in the crazy weather.
Our point of contact, Paul, was very helpful. There were issues (storm related) and he accommodated us to the best of his ability and it was truly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who is new to the area. It's closer to town than places deeper in Joshua Tree.
Nicole is a lovely woman who greets you when you arrive to show you around her lovely home. Very cozy and well-curated! The location is great - close to Pioneer Town and Joshua Tree. Highly recommend!
