We are L.A. natives (Santa Monica to be exact) have lived in many different parts of Malibu since the 1980's but consider Carbon Canyon to be the best. The location is ideal-- not too far from town (Santa Monica) and close to Cross Creek ("downtown" Malibu). And unlike other parts of Malibu Carbon Canyon is the perfect micro- climate, not foggy or windy and the perfect temperature!

Privacy, serenity, a stunning view and abundant wildlife make living here a sublime experience. Our property has a secluded, compound-like feel and is like nowhere else.
We really enjoyed our stay at the pool house. The views are great and the house is comfortable with everything you need. The hosts were helpful and accommodating - everything ran smoothly. We would recommend it highly.
We stayed in the pool house over Christmas and loved every second. The view is incredible - we never tired of looking out over the ocean. The house is in a very secluded and quiet area up in the hills, so we really felt away from it all. The house is very well equipped. For someone who likes to cook, I loved the kitchen with large gas range and all the utensils you'd want or need to cook with. The wifi is super fast and allowed us to Skype with family, and stream Netflix and music. The house is also a short drive to the shops and restaurants in Malibu, meaning you can be away from it all, but be close to any amenities that you could want. We hope to be back to see the view again soon!
Whale watching September-December and February-May, excellent tide-pooling, especially in the winter months.

Please park in the driveway apron to the left of the house and use the private set of stairs leading down to the pool house. Please refrain from setting car alarm out of respect for our canyon neighbors. Check-in is between 3:00 and 8:00P.M. Due to Malibu's rural nature we do recommend arriving before dark.
