About the property

It is a re-furbished Victorian town house, very comfortable and stylishly decorated.

Our style is a mix of old and new, with open plan downstairs, 1 King size room and 1 single room on the 1st floor and a double room in the loft. We hope we have thought of everything to make your stay a memorable one. The pocket spring mattresses offer the ultimate in comfort & luxury; the kitchen is really well equipped, and we have books, CD's, and DVD's for your enjoyment, and the soft furnishings generally are all of high quality.

There is free wifi, a music system where you can stream your own music and underfloor heating in the bathroom.

We hope you will feel very at-home and comfortable here, and if you fancy having dinner all ready for you to pop in the oven when you arrive then please look at my page on catering and what we can offer.

109 is in an absolute ideal location to explore beautiful York – a 10 minute walk from the rail station and 10 minutes walk into town. Within 200 yards you are on Bishopthorpe Road – one of York's most vibrant neighborhoods with its array of good, useful local shops and trendy café's and restaurants. Within a stones throw are 3 really good local boozers.

There is no private parking at the house, however Nunnery Lane long stay car park is a 2 minute walk from the house, as is

Bishopthorpe Road car park - this is short stay and smaller – £1 for 3 hours.

Friday changeover preferred (although flexible - so please do get in touch). Please no pets.

Please note: we require a damages deposit of £100 a visit in advance of arrival, which will be refunded within 5 days if no damage has occurred.

Electricity included. Julie & Paul respectfully request no smoking inside the house please.

About The Owner

We love the City of York and want people to experience this lovely historic town, its fantastic restaurants, bars, shops, but most of all its culture & history.

The Owner purchased this house in 2014

What makes this house unique

10 minutes walk into the centre of York, but 200 yards from Bishy Rd, which is 2015 Great British high street winner. A community street, with useful shops and great cafe's, bars and restaurants and Rowntree Park 2 minutes away.

2018 News

Europe's first ever pop-up Shakespearean Theatre - 25th June - 2nd September 2018. Shakespeare's Rose Theatre will be at Cliffords Tower - a 10 minute walk from the house. This will be a sell-out event.

Julie is an amazing host and had left us some basic supplies and a almond cake. The house has everything you could want from kitchen utensils, comfortable beds, top quality linens and furnishings. There is a well stocked selection of DVD's , books and games and free internet which was really appreciated. There is a small outside patio where you could eat on warmer days and it's a short walk into town or to the railway station. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again and all her guest book visitors say the same.

Cosy winter retreat

We loved this house. Five of us enjoyed its fantastic location - close to the walls and town centre and just around the corner from the lively Bishy Road. Julie left us some treats and offered a very warm welcome. The house was well provisioned so some home cooking happened as well as visits to lovely local restaurants and pubs. We also had lots of information on what to do in York and how to manage household equipment. We will return here sometime and would recommend 109 to others.

Lovely home away from home

Beautiful and well appointed house in a great location. The nearby high street was great for needed items and for dinner at one of the many eateries. It is also a quick walk in either direction to the centre of York. This all suited the 4 of us very well. We had a marvelous time in York and we highly recommend this property. Thanks Julie for providing a great place to stay!

Ideal, comfortable, modernised central townhouse

Great location for central York with good accommodation for 5 adults plus our little 1 yr old.

Julie and Paul Have thought through what their brief tenants would need and then some plus wine and hand made cakes. What a treat. We would use again. Thanks for everything . Rob et al
