This exceptional property is on the Black River. You can paddle, canoe from the private dock and be on Lake Ontario within 15-30 minutes. The property is bounded by forests and ravines with open meadows. It registered as a Provincial area of Natural and Scientific interest due to the wetlands habitat and unique glacial history.

if you are a paddler, this is a premium location for canoeing and kayaking. You can launch right from the dock and either head into Lake Ontario or go upstream toward Milford.
For the nature lover, this property is teaming with flora and fauna. The owners are actively returning part of the property to native forest and meadow species.

The cottage is small (450 sq. ft.), so this is more suitable for individuals or groups who want to get out and explore. Alternatively, you could set up a tent in any number of spots on the property and use the cottage as a convenient cooking and bath facility.

The cottage has a modest kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, stove/ oven. The kitchen is equipped with a full range of dishes, pots pans utensils.

A peaceful spot to relax
We very much enjoyed an early season long weekend here. A combination anniversary / Eclipse viewing. Paddling the Black River was super with lots of wildlife sightings. The dogs were nice to have around and the Hosts were very congenial. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Cottage on a Unique Property
This was our first time here and we were not disappointed in any way. The cottage was cozy, clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully stocked and decorated. The property was beautiful with many places to relax and explore. The dogs were friendly and fun to play with and seeing and hearing other animals made the experience unique. The property owners were always helpful if needed. We would definitely come back again and recommend it as a great place to stay in PEC.

Great relaxing stay on the farm.
We had a great stay at Robin and Catherine's cabin. It is a small and rustic cabin, but the setting is amazing. The large veranda is a very nice place to enjoy meals and adds quite a bit to the living space. Our daughter loved seeing all the animals and playing with the dogs. Robin and Catherine were very generous of their time and even shared some fresh products of their farm. Great spot to enjoy all that the county has to offer!

We are true outdoor enthusiasts with a passion for nature. We are trying our best to restore the landscape of our property and grow much of own food. We have taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint with solar panels and the planting over 3,000 trees on this property.

Why they chose this property

This place is perfect for those who want to tune out the noise of the city and tune in to the charms of a simple life in the country. It’s crickets here ... and song birds, frogs, swans ... even a rooster wake-up call
Fun opportunities for children to gather their own eggs, pick berries and find frogs.
If relaxingon the famous beaches at Sandbanks Provincial Park, we are only 20 minutes away and we include use of a day pass for you to enjoy the park for free.

What makes this property unique

The mist rising from the Black River as the sun rises over the forest ... a beautiful arising with nature.
Say good night to the fireflies dancing in the dark and see the stars in the night sky ... a midsummer’s night dream awaits you.
