We are Patricia and Steve ,we found this dream location and built our retirement home in June of 2014. It includes a studio apartment over our garage to share with family and friends. Most of our years were spent in snowy, cold Ohio where we worked and raised our children. We are thrilled to be living in this beautiful, friendly town. Patricia retired after 30 years as a nurse practitioner. Steve is a retired engineer. We have created our own piece of paradise and would enjoy sharing it with you.
Steve & Patricia Howell purchased this apartment in 2014
We wanted a place close to the water with the smell of fresh salt air. This picturesque, historic town is filled with friendly, positive people. The fresh seafood and local produce is an added bonus. We both love to cook! The live oaks draped in Spanish moss are a constant pleasure and something always seems to be in bloom.
We love this location because of the sunsets and dolphin watching within 3 blocks of our home. Historic Downtown Beaufort is only a short 1 mile away. It has a lovely marina waterfront with restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
Our stay with the Howells was lovely. The apartment was immaculately clean, quiet and a wonderful place to return to after a day of exploring Beaufort. Steve was always on hand to help with questions, or suggestions. The area was quaint, filled with charming cottages, so walks were plentiful. The apartment was also centrally located between a park and a boat landing, so there is lots to see and take in or just sit back and unwind. We most definitely will be back!
Loved the property. Great size and location. Within walking distance of downtown. Steve and Patricia allowed us to borrow their bikes so we were able to bike some too. Will be back!
The hosts were gracious and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet, and the location was great. A short walk to sunsets over the water, a bit longer to the historic district and waterfront park in Beaufort. It was nice to have a grill available, and easy to prepare simple meals. Coffee, creamer, sweeteners were available (not always the case). Extra towels, hair dryer and some toiletries were also provided. Care was taken to supply guests with enough items to get settled in so they could begin to explore the area shortly after their arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Very relaxing and quaint garage apartment near downtown Beaufort. Enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful Hunting Island State Park and fabulous beach, is just 14 miles away. This is island life in Beaufort at its best! Centrally located and close to everything- offering the arts, cuisine and shopping. The Beaufort National Cemetery is less that a half mile away.
