3 bedroom/3 bathroom retreat. Home is surrounded by 20 undeveloped acres yet 2 minutes from the heart of Brevard, 5 minutes from the entrance of Pisgah National Forest and 20 minutes form DuPont State Park. Biltmore House and downtown Asheville are 40 minutes away!
The home features three porches and a beautiful yard with good views. Plenty of parking and the house will easily sleep 6 with additional couches to accommodate 3 more. Each bedroom has access to its own bathrooms, so no sharing!
House was very clean and well equipped. However one should be aware that the house is not "downtown" but located a couple of miles outside of Brevard and is off the main road down a very long driveway. It is very quiet and secluded. The owner should de-clutter the house a bit as there is very little or no space in the drawers for unpacking clothes and the refrigerator was full of the owner's items.
Really wonderful experience. The house is very well decorated . . . the pictures do not do it justice. The downstairs is a great independent living area if you have a larger group. The bedroom, bathroom and living area down there are very private and comfortable and even have there own door in and out. The upstairs common area and bedrooms are perfect, and the porches are a real treat in the morning and evening hours. Great technology thru the house including WiFi and flat screen TVs. Lots of wild life around the property including rabbits and a deer that would come eat crab apples off the tree in the back. The long driveway gives a great sense of seclusion, but the town is still very accessible from this home. We are regular visitors to the area and having such easy access to downtown and the Brevard Music Center make this an ideal location for us. If we had one constructive piece of advice for the owner it would be to dedicate some storage space to the guests - having just a few drawers or a dresser in each room and some pantry and refrigerator space in the kitchen is important to people staying a week or more. We would highly recommended this home for those that are looking for a quiet private retreat in the Brevard area to share with family and friends. This is on the list for when we return!
Great location. Lots of room. Very close to town, Pisgah, and Dupont. Secluded and quiet. Great outdoor space! Highly recommend.
Our family of 6 adults stayed for a week, ages 60-98, July 2016. We have enjoyed previous vacation rental experiences from CA, MT, PA, SC, this was first for NC and disappointing; still love VRBO & North Carolina!

Overall house has quaint rustic charm but lacks cleanliness, upstairs better condition than downstairs.
Outside is the worse for wear, peeling paint, mold/mildew decking & wood trim, loose faucets & toilet seats, debris at bottom & underneath of slide out plastic trash refuse in kitchen & smelly outside trash receptacles, outside garden hose embedded within vines, managed to untangle with effort to water potted & hanging plants
I'm not a clean freak EXCEPT when it comes to paid services, I FELT BAIT & SWITCHED.
Had we not been having local guests for lunch one day I might have let some of the issues slide.
I bleach cleaned the dickens out of trash receptacles/bins so at least they now look/smell good for now and I swept off the brown dead rhododendron leaves long piled in a corner of side porch.
Safety wise there was a large dead section of big tree by front parking area, no mishaps for our stay, but I wouldn't want to be the one or my car. For safety sake Steve please remove that risk.
We really enjoyed our stay in Brevard. The house was conveniently located and even though there were other house on Elm Bend Rd, this house was far back off the road and isolated. Loved it.
I booked the house for a bachelor party weekend. One of a set of twins that I grew up with was getting married and we needed to have a "man trip". Now, being that the trip was about getting outside, what we were looking for was ease of access to Transylvania county rivers for fly fishing and turkey hunting. So we didn't spend too much time at the house, however what time we did spend was enjoyable. The beds sleep great, the living space was comfortable and enjoyable, but my favorite was the front and back porch. The yard and woods around the house are beutiful and sitting on the porch while grilling deer burgers for lunch and sorting flies with my best childhood friends will long be remembered.
Thank you for having us Steve
