Fun places right outside our door!

  • 5 of 5

the location of this funky apartment made the stay even better. Able to walk out the door to a number of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Went up to Albert Street and had a great time perusing the shops. The apartment itself was fun to explore as well! Would come back in a NY minute!

Dream Home! Best place I've stayed.

  • 5 of 5

Our family (two middle-aged parents, one 8 year old) delighted in our stay at the loft. The ease of movement through the curtain and sliding panel divided space encouraged connection and intimacy - perfect for a holiday home. The stylish, effortless storage inspired me to rethink aspects of my own home! Airy. Expansive. Freeing. Expressive.

There are a surprisingly large number of vantage points for enjoyment of both the beautiful indoors and the multiple peeks to the world outside through tastefully positioned windows. Each patio/porch has it's own charm with views over the stunning garden or the social streetscape. Sound does carry throughout the home, but this adds to the sense of connection. Sound does not travel up from the restaurant in an intrusive way. We were glad we had sleeping masks since we like to sleep in and the bedrooms have such lovely windows/skylight. The host was friendly and very responsive.

Our daughter especially liked the chalk for drawing on the chalkboard inside and the patio outside. She says it's a great place if you have kids since there is "a great kids room and lots of games and toys". It's "great for hide and seek"! The garden hot tub was a fave activity.

We so enjoyed spending over a week with each other, and friends, in the space that we didn't even try to figure out how to use the television or speakers provided! Portland is our former home and we return regularly. This space was ideal for providing both a peaceful retreat for us in a favourite neighbourhood - and at the same time was a welcome venue for reunions with friends. I would recommend this holiday loft to anyone looking for a relaxing and inspiring home away from home.

Fun, clean, and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time in Portland, and especially enjoyed our time at this loft. It was perfect for our family and had everything we needed. We really liked the deep tub and the outdoor, private decks. We'll check the availability of this place first the next time we visit the area!

Great Getaway in the Heart of the Alberta Arts District

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time exploring NE Portland from the loft above Yakuza. The location, design and amenities were great - it felt like I was on a spa retreat in the middle of the city. So many excellent restaurats/coffee shops/boutiques/etc. within walking distance. You really don't have to leave NE Portland. One thing I was worried about was the noise from the restaurant below, but you cannot hear a thing! I would definitely come back and stay again!

Great neighborhood vibe

  • 5 of 5

This funky, modern loft is right in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood. Within walking distance to many great restaurants, a market and even a coffee roaster. The loft sits directly above an Asian restaurant. It opens at 5:00 and the music can be heard in the loft. It wasn't distracting to us. There are 2 huge outdoor living areas, with seating in the sun or under cover. The kitchen is well equipped with a good assortment of pots/pans & utensils. In my opinion this loft would be best suited for a couple or a small family. The modern style of the loft is more open, utilizing curtains for privacy. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to stay here again.
