1,200-square-foot 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home above Yakuza restaurant on the 30th and Killingsworth block. In the heart of the Alberta Arts district with numerous great restaurants, coffee shops, bars and boutiques.

Located just above Yakuza Lounge, NE Portland's popular modern Japanese pub and izakaya, the loft makes for a truly one-of-a-kind getaway for out-of-town guests and locals alike. Enjoy access to some of Portland's most buzzed about and acclaimed fine dining restaurants with room service available from Yakuza during regular operating hours. Enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Then explore the bustling galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues on nearby Alberta before heading home to this romantic, urban retreat.

The space sleeps up to 4 people and particularly great for a couple with kids. Air mattresses are available if a group of friends are staying and want separate beds.

The back yard hosts a lush, serene and beautifully landscaped Japanese Garden with 24 access to hot tub, coldwater plunge tub and outdoor shower, guests are mere steps away from 5 of Portland's most popular destination restaurants (Yakuza Lounge, DOC, Beast, Autentica and Cocotte), 3 blocks from New Seasons Market and 2 blocks from the burgeoning Alberta Arts District and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival.

Excellent loft in great neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped loft in a great neighborhood with lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Easy to get to other parts of Portland by car. A sound machine is a good idea if your group has different waking/sleeping hours: this is a true loft, and bedrooms are separated from the living are by fabric screens. Hope to come back!

Serene, interesting home away from home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and two of our adult children stayed in Dayna's wonderful home for Christmas. The idea was to avoid the usual material stresses, cook a meal together, play cards and perhaps decorate a small tree. Seasons Market, about 4 block away, made the first goal easy. And what a surprise that Dayna had left us a very nice tree to put a few ornaments on. We enjoyed her home- the "kids" loved playing the phonograph records and my husband, who appreciates craftsman [or should I say craftswoman] style homes, enjoyed exploring every detail of how this house was put together with perfectly placed windows, built-ins and extraordinary use of space and light. Not to mention the interesting details of the decor. The neighborhood is perfect, from coffee houses and eateries to places to take our dogs for long walks. It is easy to get to the West side, where we visited the Japanese Gardens to complement the feeling of living in a Japanese space. Our family loved our holiday in this home away from home.

Chic loft in heart of arts district

  • 5 of 5

Great location, interesting home layout. 2 large outside living areas and huge bathtub. Our 3 year old loved the toys and foot steps in bathroom.

Best VRBO rental ever!

  • 5 of 5

This large upstairs loft home is the most unique and fun place ever. I loved the tall ceilings, the 2 huge decks on both sides of the loft. The record player and great record collection was a lot of fun. The pictures can't quite do it justice, it is even better. You are on top of a great Japanese restaurant and within feet of many more great restaurants and cafes. Walk 3 blocks to New Seasons Market and 3 blocks from NE Alberta Street. Beautiful romantic hot tub in the back garden. The entire property includes another small rental unit in the backyard and the restaurant downstairs, however, this never seems to cause any issues. Clean, well maintained, excellent well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a very responsive owner who was very helpful. The only caution I would make is it probably isn't best for people who cannot make it up one long flight of stairs.

Funky space in a funky place

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic space with great design features. Quiet and secluded with fabulous out door areas.

Immediate access to 10 amazing restaurants and bars.

Despite proximity to the action it was amazingly quiet.

The neighbourhood was fantastic with great shops and restaurants at your door and then 3 blocks away.

Would recommend for a young couple or a couple with a child. Unusual bathroom set up wont suit sharing.

Well appointed.

Would definitely stay again.
