Retired professor and native of Wildhorse Creek returned to her West Central Texas Roots along with hubby,to retire and enjoy life in the slower pace of the small town and family heritage farm. We have an online as well as a brick and mortar bookstore, an antique business, are producers of vintage market shows, and run a small farm. I grew up on this farm and moved away to the Pacific Northwest for 25+ years. Retired from 42 years in education and higher education in order to enjoy our 12 grandchildren.
Lee Moore purchased this cottage in 1900
You will find this to be a one-of-a-kind location. Unique and peaceful while situated on a small working farm out in the Texas ranch country.
You will be welcome to take walks on our rugged property and we will guide your direction. Sunrise and sunset will offer you photography of the true west.
We had a great time. Very cute little cottage was perfect for our way stop between central Texas and northern New Mexico. The cottage is nicely decorated and very clean. It worked out well for our trip. Gene was helpful and accommodating to our needs. We were in an out this trip but the countryside is lovely and quiet and it would be nice to linger and enjoy the quiet charming surroundings. We plan to stay again on our way to New Mexico.
If you'd like to experience the real deal try Wildhorse Creek Country Cottage. Situated on a hill top behind the original main house. This cottage is surrounded by history and a real working farm. You can see hundreds of acres being farmed right outside your windows. The old red barn, windmill and bluebonnet covered water tank all have a charm of their own. Inside the cozy cottage you have the luxury of sleeping in an antique double bed covered with handmade quilts but don't worry the mattress is not antique! The bath has a large walk in shower and it is well stocked with necessities. I will recommend this accommodation to anyone traveling through the Colorado Springs area. The owners Gene and Leeann are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Enjoy!
This small, quaint Texas country cottage is spectacular in so many ways!

Enjoy breathtaking sunset views, rose gold sunrises, and those comforting country sounds you've long missed by living in the city. Welcome home to Wildhorse Creek Cottage...your home on the range!
Recently, on a trip home from Amarillo, Texas, I had the pleasure of staying overnight at Wildhorse Creek Country Cottage. I couldn’t have been more pleased – the delightful little cottage was very comfortable and my hosts, Leeann Moore, and her husband, Gene Kuhel, went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The cottage is decorated in charming country antiques, with a very comfortable double bed, microwave and mini fridge, and plenty of good lighting. The bathroom is spacious, with a large shower and again, good lighting - a must for me! Situated on a hill overlooking beautiful West Texas scenery, the cottage is adjacent to the owner’s turn of the century farmhouse. The location was a photographer’s dream, with a 100-year-old red barn, iconic windmill, and lots of wildflowers. I can highly recommend Wildhorse Creek Country Cottage.
