This 1400+ square foot downtown home with 2 bedrooms and Jack and Jill bathrooms has everything you need for a wonderful St. Augustine stay! Built in 2006 it provides all of the modern conveniences you desire but the home design includes thoughtful touches throughout including stained glass doors, hardwood floors, granite countertops and shuttered windows. Best of all you can park your car and forget about it! Plus you can start and end your day with a swim in the new heated saline pool or just sit in the garden and enjoy the peaceful sound of fountain and birdsong. Everything you need for a great stay is provided!
Location: The home is situated in a wonderful walkable neighborhood between the famed Fort at Castillo De San Marcos and the Mission De Nombres just a few minutes walk from historical downtown St. Augustine so leave the car behind!
Layout: The first floor has an open floor plan overlooking the heated saline pool with LR, Full Kitchen and Dining Room space for 6-8. The Living Room has a wall hung 40 inch flat screen TV, original art and comfortable seating. The Kitchen has a full sized refrigerator and stove, DW, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and garbage disposal. Kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dish ware, utensils, etc.
Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms separated by a hallway, laundry area (with washer/dryer) and Jack and Jill bathrooms. A Jack and Jill bathroom is one that has 2 toilets, 2 sinks and a tub/shower that is shared. Each bedroom has a toilet and sink immediately available with 2 sets of locking pocket doors for privacy. The shared tub/shower is porcelain tiled and has a glass shower door.
Bedroom 1 has a Queen Sized bed with memory foam mattress, French doors leading to the upper porch, sitting area and a large closet. Bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds with memory foam mattresses (or we can combine to make a King), 3 walls of windows, a large closet and a set of antique french doors leading to a small balcony.
Outdoor features: This home has a private entrance. The back door leads to two patios. One for the pool and one for conversation and grilling. It is also connected to a Cottage (not included) via a glassed in breezeway but is completely separate and closed off by 2 sets of locking doors. If you like this property but prefer more space you can rent the entire property (Main House and Cottage) under listing #607969. If less space is required you can also rent just the cottage under listing #587744. Either way we NEVER book more than 1 guest at a time so you will ALWAYS have the pool to yourselves.
The entire property has privacy fencing. There is a bike shed and bikes are available for use (2 adult) as well as a new gas grill. Parking on site is available for up to 3 average sized cars. On street non-metered parking is also readily available.
Important to Note
No events, gatherings, visitors, pets (unless approved by owner), smoking, parties, disruptions or other disregard of lease terms can occur or terms of rental are void and immediate eviction will be enforced. Persons other than those specified in the booking are not allowed in/on the property unless approved by us in advance. If you would like to have a visitor please coordinate with us in advance. Please let us know who, when and for how long you expect your guest. Parking will also need to be coordinated as we have limited space.
We have an automated system for maintaining the temperature in the property. The lowest cool setting is 72 and the highest heat setting is 70. You may adjust the air in between those settings but the system will reset automatically if you go below or above. There are ceiling fans in every room of the property but we ask that you turn them off when leaving the house for extended periods.
Note: The pool is not heated during January and February to avoid damaging the heater.
External security cameras in use. This is for your protection and protection of the property. Video recordings occur incrementally. Video are routinely deleted by the system and would only be shared with law enforcement as needed.
CANCELATION or EARLY DEPARTURE – There are NO REFUNDS for CANCELLATION OR EARLY DEPARTURES EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN. If a Guest requests a cancellation 60 DAYS or more before check-in, Owner will make a “best effort” to re-rent the property. If the Owner is able to successfully re-rent the reserved period, the Owner will refund the total rental payment less a $300 servicing fee. Guest may obtain a “Cancel for Any Reason” policy through a third party. Guest ASSUMES THE RISK.

We are a family of 3 who live between St. Augustine and a small rural town in CT. We love traveling, art, hiking and historical sites. And like most Jacksonville FL natives we've been to St. Augustine a 'million' times. For starters my family has attended the St. Augustine Easter Parade for over 40 years! In fact, when we moved to St. Augustine there was not a street, restaurant or historic site that we didn't already know well. It was like we'd always been there.

There are certain neighborhoods in St. Augustine that we have always enjoyed strolling through. Historic Abbott Tract (our neighborhood) has always been at the top of the list. Snuggled in between the Fort and the Mission alongside the beautiful Matanzas Bay it's one the best bases for exploring the exciting and historic downtown core. So when we found this unique home (which is basically two homes connected) we knew right away that it was perfect for us. We felt it had the right blend of architecture (some old and some new) and we loved the layout and overall vibe. We added the heated saline pool right away because the lot was small and it seemed the best way to utilize the space. We were right-it's been a big hit ever since! But the best part is walking to everything. At night when you walk past the beautifully lit Castillo De San Marcos on your way to dinner you know that you are lucky indeed! We hope you find your time in our home and neighborhood special too.
This architect designed property is extremely unique in that you have a wonderful mesh of old and new. The 2 story portion built in 2006 connects via glassed in breezeway to the lovingly restored cottage built in 1875. Heart pine floors, plantation shutters and tropical colors bind these structures together yet the open floor plan allows for modern living and conveniences. We love how comfortable it is to live in this home. It's upscale but relaxed. It feels fresh yet you notice touches of age with original bead board ceilings, stained glass windows and antique doors. With tons of windows it seems always to be full of sunshine. Comfortable and cozy. The location is exceptional and the neighborhood vibe is one of community and diversity. Everybody knows everybody...and we love it that way.
We had a great time visiting St. Augustine and loved the main house we stayed in. Pauline was incredibly helpful with all questions and we'd definitely stay again.
Perfect vacation spot - private and quiet with quick access on foot or bike to the old fort and downtown St Augustine. Excellent beaches and state parks to the north on A1A. Recommend Vilano Beach and 6 mile landing for low key beach fun. The property itself was great - we enjoyed the pool and the gas grill was a big plus for a home-base family dinner one night. Host's recommendations were fantastic and she stocks the place with plenty of towels and everything else you might need while visiting. Wonderful place to stay for a few days!
What a lovely home! Pauline was available for all questions and made it easy to be in the house with very specific directions for getting keys and working any gadget in the house. Washer/dryer super convenient. The kitchen was fabulous, modern and great for making breakfast. The pool is the perfect size for hanging out with the kids, and very private. We stayed with our two children and grandma even came to stay with us. We had plenty of room in the main house and cottage to spread out. We spent lazy afternoons by the pool and visited the town at night. The house is close enough to town to walk, a short drive (10 minutes) to the gorgeous beach at Anastasia State Park and far enough away from town to be out of the way of the crowds and noise. We absolutely loved the house and will come back soon. Only very minor suggestion: The bikes could use a tune up. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We loved the house, especially the kitchen and the pool!!! One of the best stocked kitchens in any of the vacation rentals we have had to date. The old knees in our party would probably go for the house on one level next time. The stairs are not bad unless you do have bad knees. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and pretty central to everything. The weather was great for our stay too. And St. Augustine, as always, is a beautiful place to spend time and drench yourself in our country's history. Thanks to Pauline for being an outstanding land lady. We enjoyed eating at Caps, Pizalley's and Crave. First time through Lightner Museum and would recommend that, especially the Music Box lecture. Also enjoyed the Distillery tour. Nancy Schiwitz
We fell in love with the property when we found it on the internet and even more so when we arrived. The house is in a fantastic quiet location and is within short walking distance to downtown St Augustine. The house is very clean and tidy with tasteful decor and little surprises in almost every cupboard or door you open ( like toiletries, spices, washing powder, clean spare linen, pillows, towels, books ..........a proper stocked home ). The owners have excellent taste and they contacted us to ensure everything was in order after our arrival. A neighbour dropped in to see how we were getting on and if everything was up to the high standards set by the owners. Highly recommended. Thanks to Pauline for letting us share your property. We booked this house for NYE as well as for a wedding. It was beyond perfect! Within walking distance to everything downtown. The house was in perfect condition with tons of blankets, snacks and other little touches that made this the perfect place to stay. Check out was beyond a breeze and it was nice to be able to get up and leave without having to complete a huge list of tasks first. 5 stars!
