Great space with pros and cons
Travelling as a family of four, 2 adults, 2 children, firstly I was impressed with the space available with this apartment. Having scoured the internet looking for properties, many (particularly in the centre of the city) offered only an open plan living/kitchen/sofa bed area with a mezzanine bedroom overhead. Daniele's apartment provided two separate large bedrooms (a twin and a double) plus an additional two reception rooms, a small kitchen and a bathroom. Travelling with children it was important for me to be able to put the children to bed and still be able to move around the apartment and this totally ticked the box on this front. The location was also excellent, just off of Piazza Navona, we could walk to everything with ease.
However, it came with some draw backs. The apartment had a feeling of being infrequently let so was lacking some of what I consider essentials, not a disaster but when staying for just a few days, it's just annoying to have to buy a bottle of washing up liquid, loo roll, hand soap, I feel these basics should be supplied... Whilst the space was fantastic, this is a small point but it was frustrating at times that the living area had just one three seater sofa so the four of us couldn't relax in the one room together (this is an apartment that sleeps 6).
Then we get on to the noise, which I fully appreciate is out of Daniele's hands. I also appreciate that when one books an apartment in the very centre of Rome, noise might well be an issue, but it's only fair I provide an honest account of what we experienced and you can then make an informed decision as to whether this location is for you... We slept with both the shutters and double glazed windows shut (something you may struggle to do during the full heat of summer). You could hear a lot of general hustle bustle/bar noise of an evening and on one evening there was live street music beneath the windows from the restaurant below, but more painful was that on two of our three mornings, we were woken by industrial scale glass recycling collection that was so loud (imagine a commercial wheely bin of glass being emptied into a metal dust truck!) that it nigh on shook the whole apartment, at 6am! And it lasted some 20 minutes or so!! Then (as beautiful as it was) the church bells chimed bang on 7am every morning. Needless to say, we had VERY tired kids!!
So to summarise, a basically equipped apartment with fantastic space, in a great but very noisy location!
After reading this message I must make some brief clarifications:
1) in the living room there is a three seater sofa, two single sofas and a table with 4 chairs: I don't understand how it is possible not to stay in 4 people all together.
2) As far as noise is concerned, the house is on the third floor in an area where there is no passage of cars, but there is the passage of people on foot. Since it is in the center of Rome, it's normal that there is some noise, but I guess the perception of the noise depends on the customs of the people. If you read reviews on my apartment, there are few people who complain about noise and so many times come back.
Glass noise in the morning depends on the garbage collection that is sometimes carried out in the morning, sometimes in the evening, sometimes at night, as in all cities around the world.
Nice Apartment in The Center of The City
This apartment has enough room for a family of six. It’s right in the heart of the city so it’s super noisy, but we don’t mind it at all. I kinda like the sound (noise for others) of the city. You will hear the sound of mopeds, vehicles, carts going through every cobblestone, especially late at night or early in the morning. We wake up early to start our day, no alarm needed. Having said that we loved the apartment. Great location. It’s so close to everything, restaurants, mini markets, shopping, churches, taxi stop, etc. What we don’t like are the linens, sheets, blankets, only one roll of toilet paper, and lack of communication with the owner. Texts were never returned. I had to send multiple emails for the same questions. Please use Google translator if that helps. All linens could use a wash. We had to buy toilet paper, olive oil, etc. There’s a charge of twenty-five euros for late check-in. The owner could resolve that by putting a key into a combo lock outside the door. The city has a wonderful aroma, probably from the restaurants, pizzeria, pastry, and espresso shops at every block.
Some short considerations:
1) sheets, towels and blankets are not my property, but a service company that provides me with clean, dry and clean sheets after each checkout. Never the guests have written that sheets are dirty;
2) In the apartment there are all thinks of necessities in the bathroom and in the kitchen, but I remember that my apartment is a vacation home and not an hotel.
3) I live in the same building and are always available for the guests.
4) The guest arrived at 1,00am at night and I asked for a small price supplement for waiting awake until late at night. Many owners would not allow guests to arrive so late in the night.
Just like the pictures!
Our trip was originally for my husband, sister and daughter (19). We had to cancel my husband out at the last minute, but there would have been plenty of room for the four of us. We could not have asked for a better location! Not only next to Piazza Navona, but the taxi stands are within 50 feet of the building. We communicated with Daniele via email. He was very helpful. His father let us in when we arrived. Unfortunately he knows hardly any English. Luckily Daniele had his wife show up and she helped show us how to use the washer. We did not use anything in the kitchen except a glass and refrigerator, but it seemed very well stocked with utensils, cookware..everything you would need. The only things I would have them do is write out instructions on using the t.v. and remotes and moving the wifi router to the table across from the bathroom. We were unable to get wifi in the back room (except when my daughter held it up to the wall). One other note, we had read in the reviews but must have blocked it out, is the apartment is on the 3rd floor in Italy...which is the 4th floor is US. There are 63 steps to climb with the luggage. Poor Daniele's dad may have thought he'd have to perform CPR! :). Would stay here again. It was so nice to have room to spread out. It was very clean also!

"Only one not very pleasant thing is that with the open windows (we had them, as it was +28 outside)the location is really very noisy. Windows are on the side where: on the 1st floor there is a restaurant outside, and on the roofs of other buildings there are a lot of seagulls (as there is The Tibr river not far from this place). The seagulls shout horribly. Even with closed windows it is not nice."

"A splendid location for a splendid period of time. Daniele is a distinguished host, helpful and discrete. Everything exceeds our expectations. Already looking for the next time..."

"An amazing location in the heart of old Rome, right next to lively Piazza Navona and walking distance to all the major sights of ancient Rome. The neighbourhood streets are full of cafes and restaurants and yet at night we felt safe and slept well with the windows partially closed.
we thoroughly enjoyed the space in the apartment which was clean and fitted out with the basics to accommodate the 6 of us including a washing machine! The views out into the 'street-court' with the trees was just delightful to wake up to.
Thank you Daniele for greeting us so kindly and sharing your home with us. We had a great time."
To catch up the apartment is much simple one is from the Stazione Termini that give the Aereoporto Leonardo da Vinci, but the more comfortable way is sure that one to take a taxi and makes you to carry to the apartment... is not much expensive one and you will not get tired yourselves to the search of public means...
To little steps you will find every type of service: from the foods to the supermarket, the bar to the winebar, the fashionable restaurant to the trattoria, from the pub to the pizzeria...
