Very cozy and original!
I would highly recommend this apartment for a family with young kids. They would love the loft and the coziness of the apartment. If your group has all adults, the apartment will be tight, but it can still be managed, as was our case. The photos are very accurate about the space but they do not highlight how excellent the 2 bathrooms are. With mostly solar energy we had the best hot water system! I can't speak about public transportation from the apartment to Granada as we had a car. As it were, we were about 15 minutes from the Alhambra and maybe 20-25 to Granada's old town. David was a great host!
The cottage is lovely, it's homely and well equipped, somewhere you can just relax as is the village of Pinos Genil.
Beautiful place to stay
This is a beautiful spot to visit and stay in. David is a very accommodating host, easy to communicate with, very helpful with suggestions and he really tries to make the visit a happy one. Highly recommended!
Thanks so much for your nice comment. I am happy to know that you enjoyed your stay in Las Parras. Kind regards!

"This cozy house is located in a quiet village outside Granada (15-20 minute drive to Granada centre). The house was clean and well-equipped. The owners are very friendly and have a lot of information about Granada and the Sierra Nevada."

"The house is just as described, a small but cozy place, right on a valley next to Genil river. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Even before we got there, they helped us with important information that made our visit to Granada’s main attractions considerably easier. We left our rental car parked in a nearby town and did our Granada exploration by public transportation, also following their suggestion. This way we avoided driving in the narrow streets of the old part of the city as well as dealing with problems finding parking next to the site attractions. Granada is as beautiful as we expected, but the village of Pinos Genil was a nice surprise! Since we have a young kid, we did not venture at Granada’s night life and stayed at the pueblo in the evenings. We tried a different local restaurant on each of the three nights we spent there, all of them right at the river side. They have good food and great atmosphere. Also, Pinos Genil is slightly cooler than Granada thanks to the river. We really appreciated our time at Las Parras Casa Rural and recommend it without hesitation."
"SWEET (TRADITIONAL) HOUS...
"SWEET (TRADITIONAL) HOUSE IN A (TRADITIONAL) VILLAGE VERY CLOSE TO GRANADA.
SWEET AND VERY FRIENDLY OWNERS WHO SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH(NOT REALLY ...TRADITIONAL).
GOOD (TRADITIONAL) FOOD AT THE TAVERNAS OF THE VILLAGE ON THE RIVER BANK - MUCH BETTER THAN THE TOURIST FARE IN THE CENTRE OF GRANADA."
Directions: At Granada follow the motorway ("Circumvalación") around the city and the signs to Sierra Nevada. As you pass through a tunnel keep in the right hand lane as you exit. Pass the Galp petrol station on the left and take the turnoff signed for Pinos Genil. At the next T-junction, turn right. After about 1.5 kilometres continue past the turnoff signed for Dúdar & Quentar and on towards the village Pinos Genil. Take the next main turning left signed Güejar Sierra (just before crossing over a bridge and passing the Hotel Duquesa) and follow the bends around with the village down to the right hand side. Park by the first bus stop (under 1 kilometre from the turning) on the right and walk down the set of steps next to it. The house is about 30 metres down the set of steps on the left. It is easily distinguished by the two grape vines growing on either side of the blue door.
A walk or bike ride along the Genil river walk linking the village to Granada makes a great start to your holiday and one for all levels of rider. Although there are endless possibilities for activities in the area, among the most popular include skiing & snowboarding during the winter months, paragliding, mountaineering, canyon descent & canoeing. After a day of activities, be sure to try the popular "Arroz Caldoso" (speciality rice dish) available in any of the village restaurants.
