Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday chalet in Vollèges

3 bedroom chalet with 2 bathrooms, sleeps 4 adults and two children comfortably

The chalet is situated in the beautiful Swiss Alpine village of Levron, which is very close to the world famous skiing resort of Verbier in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. In order to take advantage of the beautiful views, the living area of the chalet is on the upstairs floor. The upstairs consists of an open-plan kitchen, dining area and a sitting area which has a fire place. There are two French windows which lead out onto a balcony, which wraps around two sides of the chalet. The balcony which catches the sun all day is a wonderful place to eat out in the summer months. There is an outdoor table and chairs. There is a bathroom upstairs with a bath, basin and WC. In addition there is a laundry room with a washing machine and drier. Downstairs consists of three bedrooms, the largest of which has an ensuite bathroom with a bath, basin and WC. The bathroom can also be accessed from the other rooms. Two of the bedrooms face south and both have French windows.

The chalet is located in the small village of Levron, a short distance from the world famous ski resort of Verbier. You can get to the cable car at Le Chable in 15 minutes by car from the chalet. Le Chable is situated in the valley below Verbier. One of the benefits of getting onto the cable car at Le Chable is that you avoid the long queues at Verbier!

Verbier is a world-class resort with something to please everyone. The town is situated on a sun drenched plateau at 1500 metres and has enviable snow and sun records. Verbier has some of the most challenging runs in Europe with the slopes of Tortin, Gentianes and Mont Fort to test the most experienced skier and boarder. For the intermediate skier there are the gentler picturesque tree lined slopes of La Tzoumaz and Nendaz. And beginners are well catered for with the convenient resort based slopes of Les Esserts, Le Bleu and Le Rouge. For the adventurous why not hire a mountain guide and the terrain available becomes limitless.

The chalet is situated on the outskirts of the village and faces south with spectacular views down the valley and to the mountains which border Italy. These mountains are called the St. Bernard and are famous for the dog with the same name. The chalet also has unobstructed views of the village. The only sounds you will hear will be the village church bell and in summer you will hear the cow bells!

In order to take advantage of the beautiful views, the living area of the chalet is on the upstairs floor. The upstairs consists of an open-plan kitchen, dining area and a sitting area which has a fire place. There are two French windows which lead out onto a balcony which wraps around two sides of the chalet. The balcony which catches the sun all day is a wonderful place to eat out in the summer months.

Don't ski? Don't worry, Verbier has a lot to offer the non-skier. There are many spectacular locations that can be reached on the lift system, including restaurants. There are beautiful mountain walks and cross country skiing. At the Sports Centre there is ice-skating, squash, swimming, jacuzzi and sauna. Throughout the year there are numerous concerts and exhibitions and a regular showing of English films at the cinema. Shopping in Verbier is justifiably famous as one of the most outstanding ski areas in Europe.

Great chalet for a vacation in the Swiss Alps

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed for a week in the Summer of 2013. We used it as the base for a number of daytrips.

The chalet is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. The view is great and it is very quiet.

A wonderful property in a stunning location. We loved our stay. The chalet was kitted out to a high standard and the views from the balcony were breathtaking.

Excellent contact with James Morrow, the owner, who provided all the neccessary information before we arrived.

The village of Le Levron is lovely and peaceful, situated on a plateau high above the valley floor. Not too far from the lively Verbier amd also from the Italian border and the pretty Italian town of Aosta.

Would thoroughly recommend this property. A real home from home.

Chelet (Le Leveron)

Chalet Morrow

Chalet Morrow is a wonderful and well-equipped Chalet set in Le Leveron within the Swiss Alps, 30mins drive from Verbiers’ town centre. It truly is an excellent base for all types of holiday, whether you want a sporting adventure or an idyllic tranquil get away.

The chalet is ideal for six people, although there is extra sofa bed and an extra mattress under the bunk bed if you want to squeeze a few more people in. We had a party of six and found the chalet more than capable to offer comfortable accommodation. On two levels, the chalet is exactly as described. We found the chalet clean and well maintained, the was kitchen extremely well catered for, having more utensils, cutlery, plates and pans than you’ll probably need.

Ski-ing is an obvious choice for booking the chalet, however, there are a multitude of sporting activities available within the area, many of which are all year round, information can be found within the welcome guide provided and within leaflets and booklets previous occupants have left behind for users to use. For those who just wish to relax, Le Leveron is a very peaceful village (Not ideal for the party animal), the air is clean and fresh and views are fantastic. If you are prepared to travel, a trip to Leukerbad is a must, where you can relax in hot thermal swimming pools all year round and is approximately 90mins away. The locals are friendly and the lady employed to look after the chalet is very welcoming and helpful, popping round a few times to ensure that we had everything we needed and if she could be of any help. Likewise, the owner gave us comprehensive information prior to our arrival.

There are some down sides to the area though, the people around this area of the Swiss Alps speak very little English so brush up on your French before you come, however, we managed to get by even though the last time we spoke French was at school. The area is also quite expensive, especially Verbier, but if you are a little savvy, look further a field towards more populated towns, the prices do come down. We also found that the chalet could possibly benefit from a TV/DVD combi.

In all, the chalet is a perfect get away in the most pleasant of settings and the area has a wealth activities to suit all, no matter what the season. We had a superb time and the chalet suited our needs very much, and should we return to this wonderful part of the world, Chalet Morrow would be our first choice for somewhere to stay.
