Why Beverly Grogan chose Anchorage

Our home is located historic Turnagain neighborhood. Located a two minute walk from the coastal trail with views of Mt. Denali, Foraker, Susitna and Hunter. It is just three quarter mile to beautiful Westchester Lagoon which maintains duck, bird and fish habitat. It is an easy walk on the trail to downtown. Heading the other direction on the coastal trail, one might see moose in the woods and beautiful views and sandy beach at Pt. Woronzof.

What makes this studio unique

Close to airport, bus, and coastal trail makes this setting convenient. With a private entrance and off street parking, it still has the homey feeling being an upstairs studio within a home. It has all the comforts and conveniences of home, i.e., internet, cable tv, and washer/dryer. There are beautiful Alaskana pictures on the wall with a growing library of Alaskan books and videos available. It is also a money saver because you can entertain yourself and cook at home!

very nice apartment in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice apartment (nicely appointed, gets a lot of natural light) on a quiet residential street but very close to a main road so convenient for getting to other places quickly. Also a very short walk to a particularly nice section of the coastal trail. And the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this unit and would definitely rent it again if I'm lucky enough to come back to Anchorage.

Great Turnagain location. Walked Knowles coastal trail to downtown!

  • 5 of 5

Delightful, quiet part of West Anchorage residential neighborhood. Beats fighting the hustle-bustle of Downtown Anchorage yet quick & close by to just about anywhere in Anch you want to go to.

Upstairs apartment (built on top of owners' residence) is private, cozy and charming. Full kitchen makes cooking dinner at home a real option. Unusual natural stone floor accents bathroom and wardrobe area; wood flooring covers rest of bi-level studio. Large Murphy bed folds up during the daytime for more space. Large picture windows have a nice southern exposure. Patio deck. Parking spot is close to private entrance and stairs. Washer and dryer are there too for your use at the bottom of the stairway. As mentioned above, the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is just a few hundred yards from the apartment and is a wonderful way to spend an hour or so walking just about anytime of day or year.

We recommend it for travelers who would like to enjoy Anchorage for more than one or two days, and the price was much less than a hotel at cost us on a previous visit. 5 stars.

Top notch

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very nice and Bev made it very convenient for us when we discovered our flight was going to be delayed and we would not arrive until around 3 AM. She also was very accommodating when we had a very late departure and made it easy for us to not feel so rushed to check out at 11 AM. We had everything we could possibly need and it is located very close to the Anchorage airport. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you may need for cooking. It is also very close to Lake Hood where a lot of small planes take off and land, so that can be a problem if your a light sleeper. Yet it still isn't very far to downtown . There is shopping and restaurants close by . We thoroughly enjoyed out stay and will definitely book with Bev again.
