The Owner grew up in down state Michigan
After growing up traveling from down state Michigan to Little Bear lake with her parents and enjoying the family cottage, the owner make the choice to purchase her own cabin on the lake.
The owner is happy to offer the serenity and joy that she has experienced on Little Bear Lake through her life.
We left after one day! Best described as uncomfortable. The quality of the home is passable at best. The stairs down to the water are breaking down. The owner said her handy man quit, and it shows. The home owner loved hanging out as if her company came with the home rental. She came and stayed at the house next door and sat at the fire my friends and I were having in the fire pit. We left after the first night we felt we had a baby sitter. I would have given this place a 0 star if I could. If you stay here take pictures of everything because she is trying to take the whole security deposit. A vacation turned huge head ache. But it does have a great view of the lake.
Enjoyed our stay, cabin is very comfortable. Lake was very high this year so no beach area but lake was great.
We have never been in this area: since we did not feel like driving eight hours straight to our condominium in Traverse city without the taking the rest...
The cottage is located on the higher level of the Little Bear Lake: the lakefront porch provides the unrestricted view of the lake: see sunrise ( coffee) and sunset (tea, wine and etc.) Great view! Very quiet and secure neighborhood. There are quite a few steps in the stairs to the lake but we did not mind it. Great exercise! The cottage has direct access to the lake: just go down the stairs and jump in the lake. Or stay on the lower platform to fish or sunbathe. The access to the lake ( beach area) is partially blocked by the sections of the wooden dock and some metal dock hardware. The property offers a canoe which has to stay on the top of the dock sections during the night. My husband (who is an avid fisherman) used the canoe every morning and every evening. And I enjoyed swimming during the day (water was warm and very clean.) The cottage is very spacious. It has no WI-FI or air conditioning. However, the owner provided plenty of oscillating fans which worked for us. Kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and pots and dinnerware. There were plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. Not to mention the washing machine (which we did not use.) When we arrived, we discovered that the owner left the 12 water bottles pack plus unopened can of coffee (sugar and cream) for us to use. Thank you, Nancy! We will definitely recommend this cottage to all of our friends!
The house had a large interior very spacious. The owner was helpful and very nice . The home needed a window air conditioning unit just to cool down . But the home had some nice shade. Wish there was a nice beach on the property with some sitting area.
Kids loved it !! Fishing was great just needed to bring a fishing boat. Canoe was nice but had only two seats . Lots of stairs down to lake area.
Could not have had more of a fun time. IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PEACEFUL PLACE. Had everything we needed except our food and clothing. Campfires at night swimming in the day and a few trips out to do some site seeing. The property manager and owner could not have been nicer. The cabin was exceptionally well maintained. A few steps to the lake but we'll worth it to our group.
Had so much fun A ND 5he owner and property manager were most helpful. HOPE 5O RETURN AGAIN SOON.
