The property was a little hard to find at first so perhaps a simple diagram of the general area of pacific and 64th showing the building driveway and beach would be useful. Google map thought we were across the street. The unit itself is very nice and roomy and perfect for a small family. The only adjustment we had to make from the description is the pull out bed in one of the bedrooms can't pull out very far because of the wall so the only person who that could really be a bed for would be a small child. So what you really have is a king bed a queen bed and a full bed in 3 separate rooms. For us this worked because I had my oldest with my youngest daughter in the king, I took the queen, and the second child in the full so everyone was happy. If you had a group larger than 4 I would make sure you are dealing with people who have no problem sleeping in the same bed.
The unit itself is well cared for and charming. It is older but the appliances are new so everything works well. The beds are comfortable as is the furniture.
As for the location it is on the beach as told. You can see the beach from the balcony and it is on the beach. Geographically it is next to the marina which means it is literally isolated from all the beaches north like Venice and Santa Monica not because they aren't close but because there is an enormous marina between you and it. This makes the area somewhat quiet and isolated so if that's what your looking for then that's perfect. It isn't a pedestrian world like some other communities so you will need to drive or uber to get to most bars restaurants etc, there is very little within walking distance. The bike trails are amazing and go everywhere but we didn't have bikes so we went to venice to rent bikes there and rode to Santa Monica. But If what you want is a calm less crowded beach experience in la this is a perfect spot.
Wonderful organized owners who made sure we had all we needed for a great trip!
Our family of 6 had a great stay in this comfortable unit! Everything we could have needed was provided, including snacks, breakfast items, drinks, coffee, and laundry detergent. We are frequent vacation renters and not many owners take the time to provide these amenities, but it's the simple things like this that made our stay great and they are much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again!
Cheryl has created a very comfortable place in a great location right near the beach. Everything you need is there - the kitchen is well equipped, the living room area has plenty of room to spread out, and the three bedrooms are very nice. We ended up having a small get together with relatives there one evening, ordered pizza from a nearby restaurant and it was as if we lived there all the time.
We visited the property in February. Fantastic location near the beach with restaurants within walking distance. Even though near the airport - we were not really aware of the planes. Great parking for 2 biggish cars, helpful owners. The five of us had a really enjoyable holiday. Lots of extras supplied. Thank you Cheryl and Len.
“King’s Beach,” has long been an escape within the bustle of Los Angeles since the days of Cecil B. Demille, Mary Pickford and Fatty Arbuckle who all had homes in Playa del Rey. Playa still has a quaint small time feel and is one of the unspoiled beaches of Los Angeles.
