Great for families and very peaceful surroundings.
Visiting Gainesville for UF sports, graduation, Shands, or sightseeing? We have the perfect place for you. Come back and relax after your event- or watch your event from the flat-screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. The house is newly renovated as of the summer of 2012 (it's 1250 SF heated/ cooled).
You can walk to downtown bars and restaurants. The historic Thomas Center is just 3 short blocks away. We are also just a 10 minutes drive from La Chua Trail (a Florida State Park) where you are guaranteed to see 1 to 100 alligators.
We are also just 2 miles from UF campus, the Swamp, and the O'Connell Center.
The owners live next door to the house, and can be easily reached via phone and e-mail.
One bedroom has a king bed and the other bedroom has a queen bed- perfect for families or for friends sharing a home.
The backyard is fenced in and maintained by the owners, and connects to the backyard of the owners (the backyard is meticulously maintained with beautiful seasonal flowers and greenery).
*Please note that football weekends, Gator Nationals, and Graduation weekends are considered special event weekends (up to 3 nights, or early check-in/ late-check out for a Friday arrival and Sunday departure).
Brian and Susannah are both Florida natives. They have lived in Gainesville since 2002 and know the area quite well. Susannah is an avid nature photographer and full-time manager of her 19 short-term rental properties in Gainesville.

Downtown living is fantastic! We love being able to talk to all of the local, delicious restaurants.
We share a backyard with the house and it is perfectly manicured.
Upon arrival you can immediately relax. My parents came for the Holidays and it felt just like home to them. Everything is provided that you could possibly need. The outdoor cabana was one of our favorite hang outs. Lots of sunshine and relaxation! The home is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. There are restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores within walking distance. The Thomas Center, a couple blocks away is a wonderful park setting and green space. Gainesville's newest Depot Park is within walking distance and close to downtown Gainesville,
This is a great, traditional-style, Gainesville house with lots of great features. The backyard is awesome, and is set up to easily enjoy your stay. The house is only a short walk to downtown restaurants (we had great meals at Emiliano's and Dragon Lily, and very good pizza at Big Lou's). If you are looking for something different besides a small hotel room for a football weekend, this is the place to go.
The owner was incredibly responsive, and made sure we enjoyed all of the amenities.
We loved this home! Spent a few days with our daughter for family weekend at UF. Beautifully decorated historic home. We will definitely consider for future visits.
I wish I could have stayed longer. It is a wonderful 2 bed/2bath cottage within walkable distance of downtown restaurants and shops. All amenities within the house are available with period furniture and tasteful accouterments. The owners are very accommodating and communicate well. I will return and highly recommend this home.
Beautiful home, oozing with character. Quiet neighborhood. Owner is very responsive to any need.
The house is in a central location for downtown, the University, the hospitals, and nature attractions (La Chua Trail, Hawthorne Trail, Paynes Prairie).
