About the property

Appartment, 2 bedrooms, livingroom, meal zone, kitchnet, full wc and balcony

Altura is a fishing village, and the urbanization, which is recent and very beautiful, is mainly restricted to the traditional local style houses. Excepting the hotel, the village construction is at most of 4 floors and, for this reason, the population density is much lower than most of the typical tourist areas.

The village has several restaurants, 1 large supermarket and a smaller one, a traditional market (aka “praça”) where you get fresh fish and vegetables, plus several local trade stores.

It also has afternoon bars, as well as leisure and children parks (skateboard). In the summer it is common to exist some street animations for children.

Altura is very quiet and close to the field, you can easily discover a typical Algarve mountain.

It is relatively small, therefor pleasant to walk by foot .

Has some small bars, but for those who want night life, we recommend you to visit Monte Gordo, a nearby town.

The beach is extraordinary: it is huge, clean, with good sand, good access to it and several services on it.

My apartment, a 2003 construction, is situated near a cafe, where there is not a big movement, with a large terrace with internet where you can have your breakfast or relax in the evening. Parking here is always very easy and protected from the sun (see photos).

The apartment decoration is very simple, but cozy and beautiful (see photos). It has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, 1 big balcony and a small one, and a common space, combining the living room, the dining area and a kitchen.

Air conditioning is installed only in the living room/kitchen. Nevertheless, because the house is just sun-drenched in the morning, the walls are never too warm, which makes the house to be cool (as much as possible for a summer house in Algarve).

It is also a good house for the winter because, despite of sometimes it is not habited for a long period of time, and it never had moisture problems. It is equipped with a vacuum cleaner, laundry washing machine, iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, and a charcoal grill on the balcony. The kitchen is equipped with the essentials: microwave, blender, toaster, etc. The coffee machine is missing because the downstairs cafe has it, and it is so much better.

The use of bed linen and towels are included in the price, as well as the 3 bicycles.

We are a family of 4: the dad, the mum and two girls (we have an extra bed for one of their friends to come over). We're from Lisbon, and we regret not to meet the people who rent our home that often. We have a cat that absolutely loves our vacation home.

Why Rosa Matos chose Altura

We bout the house for vacations. We have relatives from this Algarve area and, seeing that it is a very pleasent area, a lot of our relatives decided to have their vacations here. But only us, to monetize, rent our house.

What makes this apartment unique

The house is really pleasent. All the rooms have big glass doors to the balconies, which gives us the feelling of having more space, light and coolness. The combined living and dinner room allows a better management of domestic activities, as well as a great living together. The exterior area is also very wide and thinly traded, ideal to rest. It is also a good house for the winter because, despite of sometimes it is not habited for a long period of time, and it never had moisture problems.

The appartement was good ...

The appartement was good but the neighbour hood eas not so well The app was near the high way 125 and seashore was about 1.5 km The app was looking at the backside to the tennis field were nobody ever played during our stay

but the app was well equipment even a washing machine and a good kitchen and the price was fair

Very large, pretty, well-furnished apartment in quiet place. Everything consistent with description if anybody has doubts Mrs. Rosa Nunes answers mails. City transport goes to Alturze but we advise you to pay taxi for touring. Beach is wide and it is clean and quiet.

"Our property owner was very helpful via email and we send her our thanks. It was easy to find the key. Nearly everything was as described. The accommodation was clean and spacious and the area was quiet. We were very pleased with the flat and we enjoyed our week in the Algarve very much.

Also, we went in April which seemed to be 'off-season'. The swimming pool and the tennis described were not available."

Ótima casa para féerias

A casa da Dª Rosa Matos, é exatamente como está descrita no site.

Encontramos a casa limpa e arranjada, tudo nos seus lugares, as camas muito confortáveis,

cozinha e casa de banho completamente funcionais, local calmo e relativamente próximo da excelente praia daquela zona.

Um local provavelmente a repetir em futuras férias.

Apartamento anormalmente bem equipado para o que é usual neste tipo de alojamento. A descrição do apartamento é rigorosa correspondendo em pleno. A proprietária mostrou-se sempre disponível e atenciosa nos contactos por telefone e e-mail, disponibilizando inclusive contactos alternativos para o período da estadia. Pena não ter havido oportunidade para a conhecermos pessoalmente.

A casa é de facto muito agradável e tem todas as condições para se passar um período de férias com a família.

A zona é muito calma com facilidade de estacionamento.

De futuro, será sempre uma opção a considerar em primeiro lugar.

On A22 high way (Via do Infante) you go out towards Monte Gordo.

At the first intersection turn right towards Faro, you are now in EN 125.

At the second roundabout turn left, two more times to the left and you arrived at your destination.

In EN 125 (exiting towards Vila Real de Santo António) look for Tasca do Zé and ask for 'Secretos de Porco Preto' (wild boar meat). For grilled fish (always) go to 'Restaurante das Marés' on Altura's Rua Direita.

Great bread: ask someone to indicate you how to get to Rio Seco province (it is not difficult); lucky you if the bakery (with wood-burning oven) still has bread and someone to open the door - but it's worth the risk.

Do not forget to taste the figs - must be eaten on the day of harvest.
