Beautifully decorated 2,000 square foot historic Creole Cottage with lots of charm as well as modern conveniences. Cottage includes 4 bedrooms -- 1 double bed, 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 1 queen foldout sofa, 3 full bathrooms---1 shower, 2 shower+tub. Central air and heat, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room. Enjoy the back courtyard, or front porch for relaxing, people watching or having a cocktail. Perfect location - the best of both worlds. Steps from Frenchman Street, the local's Bourbon Street, with the best music in town. And 2 blocks from everything you would need in the French Quarter. Wi-Fi and washer-dryer included.
Our trip to NOLA was a nice trip as we were celebrating my husbands 40th and wanted to have a house close by.
The house is right off corner of Frenchmen, locals Bourbon and what seems to be now the hidden gen of tourists as well. It is perfectly located within the area and French Quarter to get around via door wherever you'd like to be within the area.
It is close by to the Riverwalk, Jackson Square, and all the attractions NOLA has to offer.
The home is beautiful inside, however does need some minor touch ups such as one of the doors leading out to the courtyard needs to be replaced as it is nearly kicked opened cracked. This is certainly alarming for safety reasons, as well as the Front door does not show unless secured from outside and locked. It leaves something to be desired in measure of safety, but we did fair just fine in the home.
Some of the bedroom doors and doorknobs were easily falling off upon turning of knob. Should be tightened up and screwed on better.
There is a brass band that makes you really hear all the NOLA music and heritage of the area every night. They perched on the porch and practiced prior to heading to the corner to turn up the music. They are phenomenal and for the most part harmless; with some that seem to really think the porch belongs to them, almost making it uncomfortable when walking home and seeing them on it. However, we were courteous and got the culture of NOLA so paid it no mind. They had a small boy who was precious as ever..and so very sweet.
The house has majority of everything needed, linens, towels, however could use some additional kitchen pieces such as Baking sheet, deep pot, etc. Having a washer and dryer was ideal for vacation and going home without the laundry.
Some concerns are the home sidewalls are used as restroom facility for homeless, where on 2 occasions we had to deal with human waste and urine. Again, not something you expect but certainly seen in increas in homelessness within area.
Very close to restaurants and bars..Dat Dog is fabulous. 30/90 delightful and many many close attractions. Beds were comfy and cozy and bathrooms were ideal for large group.
We would certainly stay as we are cultured to NOLA, however some not familiar could certainly be put off by some issues.
A memorable celebration and stay.
Pleasantly surprised by this place - the photos do not do it justice. Great layout for a mix of couples and friends with three full baths. Well appointed overall, comfy beds, and the backyard sitting area was a nice place to relax. The Young & Talented brass band gather on the front porch for their corner performances - it was super fun to meet them and engage with their great energy.
We loved being near Frenchmen street, but still only a few blocks from the shenanigans of bourbon street. Rick was out of town but his daughter Michelle met me when I landed. I took the bus from the airport (mistake!!) and was probably 15 mins from the house. Michelle personally picked me up from some where across town and drove me to the house (in a really nice car too!) to avoid me getting any more lost or worse! All my friends are still raving about our trip. We loved the whole weekend and will definitely stay again! Thanks!!!
Our group of 8 stayed at Ricks house for a week. We were all impressed with the cleanliness, the space, and every amenity you could think of and need inside. Including a closet of linens and a full washer and dryer. Although it was extremely hot outside, the inside was cool and comfortable.
Our reason for our visit was for events in the French Quarter. We were within walking distance of the event or could take Uber (at the minimum charge).
The French market, Café Dumont, Frenchman Street all within walking distance.
I would definitely stay in Rick's house again giving the opportunity.
Rick was a perfect host as well.
The house is fantastic! It’s extremely spacious – each bedroom and bathroom has ample room, and all 4 rooms of common area have plentiful seating and space. The location is perfect – just steps from nightlife on Frenchman, very easy walk to the Quarter, and the nearby Bywater is a quick drive or cheap cab ride away. There is some nighttime noise because of the central location, but none of our group experienced any issues with it. There are back bedrooms further from the sound for light sleepers. We will certainly plan to return next year!
Our group really loved this place. It's clean and comfortable. The location is amazing. It's right next to so many wonderful music spots and bars, and just a 10 min walk to the French Quarter.
The only issues we had were that a number of furniture items (like chairs, shelves, and doorknobs) are broken or not properly attached. Also, if you have a big group (like we had), be aware that there are only 5 beds (one of which is small, and the other is a foldout sofa bed). So if you're all OK with sharing beds, then 9 people can fit (10 is pushing it since the small bed is not really great for sharing).
