Lilybank is a traditional detached cottage found in a quiet corner of Fort Augustus, a popular and picturesque village at the south end of Loch Ness. It boasts lovely views across the River Oich and out into Loch Ness yet is only a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village with all its pubs, hotels, cafes and restaurants. Being in the centre of the highlands it is perfect for exploring the East and West coasts, both easily reachable for a day out, whilst having plenty to offer in and around the surrounding area. Spend a day on the Isle of Skye, or whale watching off the beautiful beaches around Arisaig; visit historic castles and monuments; drive through stunning glens with lochs and forests and wildlife; follow the mountain trails by bike or by foot; play golf, fish, go white water rafting, canoeing, or just relax and take in the incredible views and culture. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands is an hour away and is a bustling city with great shopping and amenities, whilst Fort William, an hour south of the cottage, offers the opportunity for skiing or climbing on the Nevis Mountain Range.

About Lucy Phipps
My grandparents purchased Lilybank back in 1968, after years of holidaying in Scotland and falling in love with the area. It has given four generations of my family great memories of holidays in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. Three of us even claim to have caught sight of that illusive monster during those years! I took over the management of the cottage two years ago and have enjoyed updating Lilybank as a holiday home for today's holiday maker.

Why Lucy Phipps chose Fort Augustus
Lilybank has been a much loved family holiday home for over 50 years. It is a special place in a wonderful location. The house feels cosy but spacious and has recently been updated with new kitchen and bathrooms. It is a place for building memories with wonderful day trips out or days just sitting in the garden, perhaps even braving a dip in the loch or river. Rainy days at Lilybank can be spent in front of the woodburner, playing board games or getting stuck into a good book (there are plenty to choose from in the house). Find a different walk everyday in the stunning countryside, have a meal at a local pub (the Loch Inn has an amazing number of Whiskies to try), dip your toes (or more if you're feeling really brave) in the lochs and rivers and generally soak up the marvellous and majestic highland scenery.

Lovely house in perfect location!
Absolutely lovely warm house in a perfect private location looking over the water. Short walking distance to the village. House had everything we needed for a perfect week. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.
Brilliant location, lovely house
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lilybank. The location is great, right on the river, plus views onto Loch Ness. It is also 5 minutes walk (along the river) to the centre of Fort Augustus. Most days we enjoyed a morning coffee watching the boats go up and down the many locks. There are also good places to eat.
The house itself is beautifully presented - from the moment we walked in we felt at home. We did have one issue while we were there, but Lucy sorted it out very quickly.
Plus there is lots to do in and around Fort Augustus. We would strongly recommend to others.
Perfect holiday home 👌
Beautiful cottage with stunning views, this place has everything you need for a Scottish getaway. The house itself catered for all ages and was very comfortable and homely. The only thing my husband said was missing was an ice cream scoop which really says it all, thank you for a memorable holiday.
A home from home from the moment we arrived. It is so special and the location is perfect whatever the weather. Clean and homely, comfy beds, comfy sofas, high end furniture, subtle tartan soft furnishings, local artist watercolour paintings and a cosy wood-burner. We love this place and we love Scotland and we will be back! There were no negatives for us (other than a minor thing - that the towels provided were very small and hard). Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Lily Bank was a very comfortable holiday cottage for our Scotland Holiday with a terrific view.
Lily Bank was a clean/ comfortable traditional Scottish cottage with a wonderful view. We really enjoyed that it was walking distance to the village and was a great central location to explore the beautiful highland sights. Lucy and Alison were terrific . Always quick to respond to our questions or needs. A welcome package left for us was a special surprise. Thanks to Lucy and Alison for everything.
