POPPY COTTAGE is a newly-renovated terraced flint cottage with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. There is a well-equipped kitchen, shower room, cosy front-room and porch/sunroom. Character features include an old water pump outside and Victorian stove (unused!). The lovely courtyard garden is secure and comes complete with an old apple tree. Bikes can be stored in a secure shed. Bedding and towels are provided, and there is Wifi. For children, there is a high chair, travel cot, toys and buckets/spades. Children will love the steam-powered Wells to Walsingham Light Railway! A short stroll through the peaceful village and across a ford will lead to Great Walsingham Barns (art centre and tearoom). On the way, you can see historic Berry Hall, where Henry VIII is said to have first met Anne Boleyn. Little Walsingham is within walking distance, where the shrines and abbey are located. There is also a farm shop, very good pubs and tearooms. Further afield, Wells-next-the-Sea is 10 minutes drive away (traditional seaside town with supermarket and petrol station) and Holkham Beach is nearby. This stunning beach has pine forests, sand dunes and is popular with bird watchers. There are many family attractions within driving distance (search for North Norfolk tourism online). Poppy Cottage is a lovely place for a break from the fast pace of life as it's so peaceful, but conveniently located. Please note this is an old Victorian farmworkers' cottage, and as such, the stairs are a quite steep. Sadly, due to damage caused by dogs, we will be unable to accept bookings with dogs from January 2018 although we may consider a cat.

About Chloe Ewen
We love our family cottage and have been enjoying happy holidays here since the late 1970s, when the cottage was bought by our Grandparents. Now lovingly refurbished for guests, whilst keeping the character features.
Why Chloe Ewen chose Little Walsingham
It's clean, cosy, well-equipped and being slightly further from Wells-next-the-Sea (4 miles) it won't break the bank.
What makes this Cottage unique
A happy atmosphere pervades our cottage, and we have repeat guests who enjoy the peaceful and beautiful traditional Norfolk village.

What a gem!
A lovely cosy cottage wonderfully located giving the option of so many places to visit whatever the time of year.
Fully equipped for eating in with the option of visiting The Black Lion which serves delicious food.
This cottage really felt like home from home, very comfortable for 4 adults. The village was really interesting with so many different churches and places of interest to visit.
Wells next the Sea is a very short drive away - we spent a lovely morning walking along the glorious beach on New Year's Day.
Have already recommended it to family.

We really enjoyed our break in Poppy Cottage. It is a lovely place, quirky and very comfortable.
We both loved Poppy Cottage and the surrounding area. It was a brilliant base for National Trust properties and the North Norfolk Railway which we enjoyed. Will definitely be back to the area.
Thank you for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your break at Poppy Cottage.
Perfect February get away
My family and I loved staying here. Well maintained throughout, this pretty cottage provided us with sufficient living space, cosy bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, an upstairs bathroom and a great location to explore the north Norfolk coast. If we’d had one wish, it would have been for parking outside the cottage and indeed less steep stairs, but this is in the description and my 83yr old mum did get up and down the stairs without much bother! We were a little wary of parking on the green just down the road, as at this time of year you could have easily got stuck with wheels spinning, so careful parking is advised!! Great stay, with everything you could possibly need however - thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay at Poppy Cottage. February is indeed a muddy time of year in North Norfolk and luckily the mud dries up quickly in Spring! Hope you managed to see the snowdrops at the Abbey - a must see at this time of year.
