Property was as advertised and we loved it
The home was very comfortable and offered everything we needed. It was a great home base for our fishing adventures.
Enjoyed having you as our guest!
Clean, cute but some issues
This place is old as stated, and decorated nicely and the facilities were adequate. Loved the upstairs and the kitchen, but the basement was a different story. It was cold downstairs and we were in the middle of a spring snow storm and the electricity went out during the storm for four hours. There were not enough blankets so we called and they did bring some extra blankets, but we were in the dark and cold for four hours. The main issue with the basement is that it its colder and you can hear anyone walking upstairs because the floors are very creaky; a function of it being an old home. So the main issue was the basement and there is only a toilet downstairs, no shower or tub either. So while it was clean and cute, I would not rent this one again because if you're trying to sleep downstairs, you can hear anyone walking upstairs. Otherwise it was very nice.
Nice little home great for our dogs and good for a stay
We stayed here for 5 nights and the check in was simple, easy to rent and the tv in the basement has cable which was a nice surprise. We stayed downstairs the whole time (except to use the shower and kitchen) and it was great to have a laundry/mud room for our dogs to come in from outside and not worry about getting the house dirty. There were a few cobwebs here and there in the basement but it's a basement so it's to be expected. Would stay here again when traveling. It's a great location to visit the Sand Dunes National Park and Bishops Castle and is close to a park and lake in Walsenburg.
Good place to rest our head
Right in town, quiet and homey. A great central place to rest our head and refuel for hunting and wandering in the mountain properties around. Not fancy -- but not needed!
Thanks for letting us stay in your home!
Nice, quiet neighborhood....
Overall a great experience. However, there is a strong odor upon entry in the loving room that it is uninviting. The rest of the house is funky and cool. I liked the quiet neighborhood and the house was very clean.
Sorry to hear about the uninviting smell. Unfortunately I was not made aware of it upon your arrival and seemed to be gone when we went to clean after your stay. Thankfully it seems to be gone now.
