Stunning property in a beautiful settin
A little disappointed with the overall standard of the villa. Very personal with food left in cupboards and even a pair of knickers left in drawer, appearance was as if the owner had just moved out to allow us entrance not what one would expect from a holiday home. We had no instructions left as to how to operate all the kitchen equipment with a sink that was blocked. We emailed the owner with no response, it would appear this was repaired one day whilst we were out a few days later with no reference to our us. A bed also collapsed on our first night luckily my husband and son in law were able to repair it. We then had a flood from the dish washer. The swimming pool was very cold despite us covering it each evening as we were instructed, we were informed on exit the temperature should have been adjusted, a little late. Overall the property was run down and very unkempt, the facilities as advertised ie ping pong table were completely unusable. Could be a lovely property but really needs some updating and a lot of the personal effects removed.
Relaxing rural break
A great base for a relaxing week, beautiful weather and a beautiful rural location. Plus a heated pool, lovely.
The property manager was lovely and there if you needed her. Thank you
Just like the brochure!
A wonderful quirky location just as described, genuinely hidden away in its own woodland and yet only a 10 minute walk from the delightful local village. To be in the "middle of nowhere" and yet be ably to stroll into La Vieille-Lyre for the morning baguette or an evening meal was a real bonus. Nearby La Neuve-Lyre contains all the local shops you need for essentials, with larger supermarkets a short drive away. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the road network, especially for anyone more accustomed to driving in UK, is a treat.
Peace and tranquility
A really quiet and relaxing location. No noise and the complete way to unwind from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
We are a family of 5 the pool and the sauna were great. The house has everything needed so you don't need to travel far.
Jacqueline is lovely and was available for any queries you may have.
Not a lot to do if you want to explore but the chocolate factory tour in in Danville is worth a trip.
Away from it all
Charming rustic mill conversion tucked away in a shaded area between the fields. A very country house feel with lots of wildlife. We were unlucky with the weather so couldn't enjoy the pool area much, but be prepared to start a wood fire for the sauna, we needed a lesson from Jacqueline as it is not so easy for beginners! Instead we travelled to Versailles, Paris, Conches, etc Local La Neuve-Lyre boulangerie is lovely, the butcher's ham was fresh and tasty and the local mini market was useful for milk! Please beware that as this is not Paris the local shops, restaurants and tourist attractions have their own opening hours - so make sure you check those in advance.
