This superb, semi-detached barn conversion is set in the peaceful countryside, on the owner’s 80-acre equestrian centre, yet only a short drive to Lincoln and Newark. Perfect for those wishing to take their horse on holiday as stabling is available, by arrangement with the owners who conveniently live adjacent. There are great facilities including a large ménage and a British Eventing cross country course for schooling, as well as great hacking, both on-site and in the area. There is also friendly pigs, chickens and lambs at lambing time, great for families with children. This is also an excellent base from which to explore the area or simply to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of this tranquil location. Only a short drive away is the city of Lincoln, well known for its Christmas market and for the famous cathedral and castle which also houses the Magna Carta visitors centre. The Bailgate area of Lincoln has many restaurants and shops and a walk down the hill into the centre of the city, takes you to the vibrant Brayford Wharf area. Newark Showground is approximately 10 minutes’ drive away and is well-known for its international antique fairs. There are good walks and cycle routes from the door, as well as golf courses and fishing (licence required) in the local area. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Comfortable, poor Wi-fi, Not exaclty 4 star
If you are looking for a spotlessly clean property with good wifi internet connection and you value the suspension on your car, this is not the cottage for you. I am not saying the property was dirty but it was not clean to the standard I would expect from a 4 star property. The wifi internet was virtually non-existant during the 4 days we were there and the only time I could get a connection was in the middle of the night. Fortunately, I had my mobile and was able to connect using 4G. The property is at the end of a 3/4 mile rough farm track full of bumps and ruts so it was not an easy drive from the road to the cottage. Having said that, the cottage was warm and comfortable. Water pressure is excellent with a fiece shower. The cottage is attached to the house of the owner and she was very friendly, helpful and obliging. We had a few maintenance problems and she reacted to them immediately and they were fixed in a very short time.
If you like peace and quiet, love the countryside and farm animals, particularly horses, you don't mind a bit of dust and a couple of cobweb and you aren't concerned about having the internet then I'm sure you will find this cottage agreeable. It is in a good position to visit Lincoln, Newark and the numberous air museums in the area.
